Hello! My name is FrozenEcstasy, the best damned romance writer you could have (if you keep my attention)! I'm over-selling myself, but the point still stands ;D I'm here in the wonderful 1x1 section as I am looking to rekindle some emotions toyed with in an old idea of mine, but with a twist that will make it all the more interesting!

So here's the basic plot premise, which I hope to extend upon with my partner to make each iteration I may or may not have of this rp different and interesting. A boy in High School/College has been largely dismissed as a nobody his entire life, forced to fend for himself and find entertainment in the loneliest of places, and avoided by many regardless of existence of reasonable factors. An accident occurs in which the boy loses some sort of bodily function that is either very noticeable visually, or noticeably effects his behavior. Many people suddenly begin showing a different, more "caring" side to themselves, mostly out of pity, others out of a need to seem like decent people. At first the boy enjoys the newfound attention to an extent, but as time goes on he realizes the general illusion that people have been fronting which disenchants him and sends him into a spiral of depression. On the other side of the coin, another boy enters the scene with an attitude that has transcended illusions and may come off as a little too blunt. He attempts to make friends with the newly disabled boy but his attempts have varying degrees of success. His reasoning may not be clear at first, but over time it comes clear that he may have a different definition for loss.

Can the two reconcile loss, love, and happiness? Or is their dynamic toxic to their own health?

So yeah! Alongside that premise can come a myriad of different ideas and plot devices to play with the dynamics of the two boys and whether or not they can play friendly. As follows are some general ideas for plot dynamics:

Boy #1, Possible Disabilities
1. Blindness
2. Paraplegia
3. Deafness
4. Mute
5. Mental Illness
6. Loss of Limb
7. Extensive Scarring
8. ?????

Boy #2, Possible Dynamics
1. Mental Illness (Barring Depression/Anxiety. Despite being illnesses they are not something I wish to have in yet another RP)
2. Possibly Terminal Illness
3. Orphaned
4. ?????

Finally some personal rules and information for those who may be wondering or enjoy understanding a partner somewhat before a roleplay!

As a 1x1 roleplayer I prefer to have romantic themes in my stories of varying degrees of focus. This particular roleplay is heavily intent on a romantic relationship developing between the two boys, however, varying dynamics and ideas with my partner can very well tip the focus of the plot off of romance and onto another topic. I do not enjoy total romance without outside plot, instantaneous love and affection, or overdone tropes to romantic roleplays. I prefer to have my roleplays much more dynamic and exciting than just gushy gushy kissy kissy, though I do like my gushy gushy kissy kissy moments. When it comes to scenes considered 18+ I do not fade to black, but neither do I spend unneeded time describing a scene that can be boiled down to a few movements of action, that is to say, I will write scenes involving intercourse, but I will not spend excessive time on these scenes! It detracts from the roleplay! Speaking of such subjects, here are some rules for my general roleplaying pleasure.

Rule #1
ALWAYS communicate when your life is getting hectic or slow, or when your writing muse escapes you! To keep a 1x1 alive you have to have a constant stream of communication, neglecting to inform me of any changes that will affect our roleplay will surely let it die!

Rule #2
I do not have time for excessively overdone characters. That's not to say that I don't enjoy playing with popular character fantasies, but those characters in which not too much time needs invested due to how often they are portrayed will earn a squinty eye and possible a drop of a roleplay. As a side note, never feel that your character may not make the cut, if you spend time developing your character you are golden.

Rule #3
If you have interest in my roleplay, PLEASE bump this post for the next person to find interest, and then immediately shoot me a PM with your interests and a rough idea of what you'd like to get out of the roleplay! I will not discuss details in this thread and would prefer to take the information to Private Messages. As an added, I prefer roleplays through private messages.

Rule #4
As a roleplayer I am in the High-Casual -> Low-Advanced range. This means I have no time for one liners, limited time for one paragraph, and a lot of time for detailed paragraphs. I understand that post length may grow or shrink depending on what is happening, I just expect a sort of quality to be kept! I accept a minimum of two fully fledged paragraphs unless otherwise discussed.

With all this malarkey being said, PM me if you have interest! I am on EST and will respond as soon as able.
Also interested!
So I did figure something out let me know if this makes sense

-Rising population on Earth increases amount of Necromancers and undeath anomalies, the nature of souls and soul energy travelling between the dead realms and the living creates reality fluxes that release a special type of Flux Energy
-The Others thrive in large quantities of Flux Energy, and the nature of the increase in Flux Energy caused by the Necromancers draw the Others to our reality
-The Alien Race has been within our solar system for a long time, the population of Earth is resulting of an experiment conducted by them, the threat of the Others draws them to Earth where they plan to drive them off to prevent them from becoming a confound to their data
-The Demons thrive off the chaos of the previous three factions so they jump realms into ours, the more powerful having their own forms and the less powerful possess compatible bodies of the other 3 factions + factionless humans, their main goal is to use the chaos to come out on top and spread influence among three different races at once
-The Necromancers see the demonic possessions as defilement to nature and wish to purify them from the realms, and also see the presence of the Others as an abomination to our reality

Does that give enough motive to each faction for a roleplay do you think?

Also someone mentioned "but where are the humans?"

A) The roleplayers will be playing the humans (And allowed a second non-human character)
B) Each faction will offer a different set of abilities and resources for the humans that wish to join them. The reasons humans are invited to the faction of Others is yet to be determined.
C) Factionless humans will be available but will lack abilities contained in the factions without some form of stealing resources, and will have to somehow come up with their own assets to survive
D) Necromancers are all human, there will be some special humans in this group due to it's nature, some of those being a form of vampire, lich, or etc.

As for general abilities to be expanded on in each faction:
1) Aliens will offer Psiionic abilities to the humans of their faction, along with extremely high tech. Some of this tech will exist in other factions in smaller amounts because thievery is a thing.
2) Others will offer odd abilities and mutations, things similar to extra eyes and energy based abilities
3) Demons will offer a form of magic independent to Necromancy at the cost of requiring possession, this magic will focus more on fire and manipulative curses and those that use it will be understood as practicioners of witchcraft
4) Necromancy offers the largest sum of possibilities. Necromancy can take the form of Vampirism, Lichdom, the summoning of the dead, the reanimation of dead bodies, and certain decay-based abilities. Necromantic magic will be more of a physical magic with direct effects on the world around them rather than creating something new.

Things I still need to figure out:
1) The anatomy of Others, Aliens, and Demons
I do know basics though
A) Aliens will be mostly human in appearance but will have some form of exaggerated features and
extra external organs
B) Others will be characterized by tentacles and eyes
C) Demons will be characterized by horns, cloven feet, and skin tinted red or black
2) The culture and history of the 4 factions
3) How to bring the players together consistently enough that it's a successful roleplay
4) The nature of necromantic curses and the like that create Vampirism, Lichdom, and other similar afflictions/transcendence
I'm not for sure if this is the correct place to post this but it involves taking ideas from various occult circles and putting them in a setting in which they are all pit against each-other for a position of dominance in a rapidly decaying world. So it's quintessentially a chaotic apocalyptic setting with several factions fighting for control. I'm struggling with getting a believable (in terms of fantasy) reason for these events to take place. I'd be interested in having some people help me conceptualize a basic plot line, and if anyone's interested enough for when I make the actual RP to Co-GM and Co-Write I would enjoy it very much!

So far I have a basic understanding of the faction-like groups: An Alien race with powerful psionic capabilities reminiscent of Predators, a race of inter-dimensional beings dubbed "Others" which resemble eldritch horrors, Demonic forces from a spiritual realm, and a group of those playing with Necromantic energies that create all sorts of undead horrors.

I also understand that this is a case of "who wants this world more" along with "but I was here first," adding a little "we need this world's rescources" with the factions trying to erase all or some of the other factions in order to obtain their goals.

I need some help fleshing out the histories, biology, culture, and desires of the different factions, primarily that of the Others and of the Aliens. Then I gotta figure out how to graft them into the plot, and such...

So basically the thread objectives are:
-Develop working ideas on what each faction IS, what they DO, and what they WANT
-Figure out a basic history of the world (pretty much Earth in the near future when shit hits the fan), so like when the factions appeared and what brought them there
-Get an idea of a plot line, as in what's the main drive of the story and how do we get the characters to interact

I mean, if people wanna breath new life into this I'm up for it
Oh what, people are still here?
...
Wow. 3 days since the last post. So thus is how RPS die. Lol
