The group waited a few minutes for the last three people to show up, mostly in silence. The lights on the board seemed to flicker and move like waves in the ocean, almost in a soothing way, but Varus knew what it meant, the ship was ready to reveal mission plans, and stars, and adventures.

Claire showed up soon enough, the slender creature looked like a female manikin, almost formless and and a pale shade of white, but her skin was almost living in it's own right, moving with pulses of blue, and red, and yellow, and green, and purple, and pink, and cyan. All just flowing over her skin. A face like her's had no features, it was just empty, but when she talked, "Sorry I'm late Captain, There was a communication error I had to correct." The part where a human's mouth would be glowed a bright light, brighter with the higher pitched notes in each word and softer with each lower note. Her voice almost silky smooth and soft, almost flowing through the air on waves of sound.

Varus nodded with a smile. Not matter what Claire did, he could never be made at her. She was invaluable as the ship's Long Range Communications Officer, she was the only person to make sure they got their mail and reports done right. For lack of a better analogy, she is the best damn secretary in the universe.

After another minute, loud clangs could be heard from down the hall, *thud* *Thud*. And as they got closer, they got louder, and not 5 seconds later the sliding doors opened to reveal an enormous reptilian man, about 12 feet tall, he actually had to duck to make in under the door. His chest was bare, but he at least had pants on. Although a hole was made in the back for his hulking tail. Once inside he let out a bassy and low grunt towards the whole group and dragged his tail in, the large bony mass on the end scraping against the floor.
For the sake of keeping things rolling I'm instituting a new mechanic, if somebody doesn't post for two days, and without good reason mentioned prior, that person will be shelved and the RP will continue. Now before anybody starts to yell at me, shelved isn't the same as removed. The people involved with said person can simply cut the conversation by saying something like, "He doesn't seem to be in a talkative mood. *I go and do other stuff.*" When the person comes back he/she is more than welcome to come back in, but it may be a tad moved ahead.

And again, all you have to do is tell somebody why you are not posting AND WE WILL WAIT FOR YOU! Just please let us know first.
Like Gloves said already talked about, but... One thing we didn't talk about was how to bring him in? Want an introduction or are you just going to bring him in?

Also, Hawk your the last person you needs to show up, waiting on Max.
Varus stood his watch, making sure everything was ready and when it was and they were drifting, he gave the order to fly away from the planet, just to get to open space with all haste.

Yet now his job has just begun, so he made his way behind his through the double doors a small hallway and them another set, opening into a room that seemed empty, just a big white room with a few lights on the ceiling. When he entered though, a scan was issued and when it was done, a bing sounded and the floor in the center, a rectangle about 8 foot by 6 foot raised up, lighting on the top to reveal and display a 3-d view of the ship. For no reason he reached out and grabbed the nose of it, his fingers not feeling anything, but when he spun it to the right, it rapid spun to the right.

Content with his childish moment, he pressed a lit up button on the table, and over the PA system, "Tearys, Jackdaw, Teeth, Dresden, Maximillian, Ryder, Claire, and Rennac to the War Room."

While they were on their way, he opened up the icon labeled, "new" that was shaped like a envelope. Opening a list of files all sent from command. Each one coded a new way, in a new form to signify a new mission. He quickly browsed each one, knowing he would have a true change to go over them with the rest of the "council." Unfortunately a few of them were rather distressing. "Looks liek this is going to be an eventful week", He thought to himself.
Varus made his final checks and pressed the big red button... Causing a loud whine of gears and cogs to come to life, clunking and whirring as dust and dirt that had settled on the hanger's door shook as it rose slowly into place, sealing the outside world away and locking the ship into an airtight, flying hulk.

He let out a content sigh. While that noise would most likely be annoying to anybody else, to him it was bliss. After taking a brief moment to drink it in he turned and began heading towards the Command Deck. The CD was a flurry of activity, the flight crew making the final preparations to the launch sequence. Computers lined the walls and experienced people of several different races actively clacked away the the board to control them. Monitors showing numbers, trajectories, and other technological mumbo-jumbo. A pleasing sight.

Taking his place at the Captain's Console he pressed a few buttons and saying a few commands. Being patched into the ship's PA system he addressed the crew, "Attention crew of the Argent Dawn, the flight sequence has been initiated. Prepare to take off." Cutting the broadcast he then got in contact with the ground crews, "This is the Argent Dawn, requesting permission to take off."

"This is Flight Control, permission granted. Good luck out there."

Varus cut the connection to the ground and pressed the last few buttons and game the command to the flight crew, "Let's head up, lads."

All around them the ship was relatively steady, some light shaking, but nothing to bother anyone as the engines roared to life, slowly lifting the ship up, then the aft thrusters were next, powering up and sending the ship forward, quickly gaining speed until it was traveling several thousand miles per hour, breaking into space and settling to a relaxing pace as they drifted off to find something to do.
Just as another form of FYI, we as players are not the only people on the ship. It has a crew of about 300-ish people, chances are, 60% of them have (space) sticky notes on their desks or computers or in their personal quarters. No need to reem a character out, most of the crew he could report.
Actually guys, just as an FYI here. The Argent Dawn treats it's crew well, meaning each member has their own room instead of bunks like most other military vessels. Varus will still refer to the rooms as bunks so try not to get confused. Similarly, while people have rooms, it is a military vessel, so the rooms are about the size of your average college dorm room. Containing only a bed and two lockers for storing personal stuff. No computers are standard, but can be put in if you want one, especially since they are much smaller in the future.

Each person would have a little computer to work at, not really a personal one unless your in a certain role, like Dres, Teeth, and Ren would have them as the Engineer, Medic, and Hacker. Otherwise computer stations exist on each deck so things could be ordered, searched, scanned, etc.

Just think how weird it would be if Varus asked Dresden to show him how to log tool usage and they had to go to her room. He'd probably be standing on a discarded bra because the room is so small, not exactly the most... Captain like thing.

So Ren, computers would not be in the rooms, but the passwords may, similarly Ren may want to check the computer stations. With so many computers in each station the crew has developed a connection to "their" computer as there are enough for everybody.

Also, check the desks... chances are they are there!

Finally just as another FYI, I really don't like doing this kind of thing to you guys, but this ship is kinda a strange thing to deal with as it's pre-made. S I ask that you guys could bear with me for a tiny bit more as this ship becomes more and more complete. Because after that, it's totally up for interpretation. Hell I hope you guys start making planet for me.
Varus put the gift under his arm and was already on his way to the entrance to the hanger, by one of the edges to check on the ship's log to see who had not checked in yet. Before he could reach it, Jackdaw came up to give her quick report.

When he made the comment about Ren though, he had a word to say, "While he may be childish and strange, there is no need to talk to a superior like that about it. Least of all in public." He finished gesturing outside to the ship crews and ground crew flying about. Chances are nobody even had half a chance to hear Jack, but they had to at least appear professional, at least until the the hanger door closed and the ship was in space. He moved closer to Jack, almost to whispering distance, leaning down and saying in a soft voice, "Though I don't blame you. Just try to keep it in until we are in space."

He then went off to check the ship's log and it would seen like everybody was on board, time to finally get started on saving the galaxy.
Kinetic shield vary is size and shape, much like the armors they are attached to. They are generally pretty proportional to the wielder, so Max would probably have a 3x2 give or take. And it doesn't have to be a perfect polygon by the way.
Oh no of course not, the shields are mounted so any normal gun could still be used. It's basically standard for all Guardian armor.

Also, that is freaking nightmare fuel right there... thanks you scum...
