A little bit about my preferences

Good morning, day or night to you – depending on where in the world you are. Probably USA. Everybody on this site seems to be from the USA.

Ground Rules:

Grammar:
I L O V E good grammar, well-built sentences and good coding. If you write with headlines, centred or subbed text, colour coded dialogue, a nice balance between speech, thoughts and description I will never let you go. Ok? You're mine now. Although nobody's perfect and we all make mistakes every once in a while. That's fine.

Writing style:
I try to write in a way that let's my partner know what my character is thinking (to a certain degree) and gives them something to play off. I can't stand replies that are just descriptive and gives me nothing to build on.

Don't overdo IRL hobbies:
Using your passions and hobbies from IRL is great, but please don't overdo it. Example: If you're super into cars – that's fine. You can use your interests in the RP or make your OC have the same interest. Just don't expect me to necessarily share the same enthusiasm about cars. It's cool to bring in stuff you know a lot about, if presented in such a way that even a person with no knowledge on the subject can understand. Don't write me five paragraphs about what car engine you have and how you plan on changing the gear pack or whatnot in full detail. Rather, you should come pick up my character in your car and then teach me how to change a tire – together.

Google is our friend:
If I write something you don't understand, try to google it first. I have no problem with explaining things, but in many cases, you could probably figure it out just as well with a quick google search. Don't make me do your work for you. Of course, I will try to write in a way that either explains or lets the context explain if I bring up something specific.

Replies:
My schedule has become busier at the new year, so now I will only be able to answer once a week at most. Sorry.

Shared workload:
I want a PARTNER, not a leech. I expect us to share the work 50/50, and contribute to both the planning and the RP on equal ground. The same goes for me. If you feel like I'm not pulling my weight, tell me! Communication is key to everything good.

Genres:
I'm most accustomed to the slice of life genre. Although I am very open to other genres such as fantasy, science fiction, a specific time era, etc. As long as we can discuss the world building together.

Congratulations on making it this far down in the post. *Applause* Now, if you're feeling it thus far, just ask yourself one more question: Am I mature enough to tell it to somebody straight that I'm not interested in this RP anymore, for whatever reason? If yes, continue reading on A. If no, continue reading on B.

A.
Huzzah! I can't tell you how glad this made me. There are few things that's worse than getting properly invested in an RP, only to be left behind a few weeks later. No note, no nothing. It's a waste of both our times. But YOU'RE not like that! Pat yourself on the back. Good human. You've been raised well.

Details:
I'm up for either a long RP or several short ones. Let's figure out details together.
We RP over PM, with one IC chat and one OOC chat.
I really don't like are one-sided characters. Meaning: Super submissive, shy and embarrassed characters who only stutters, or super macho, dominating testosterone machines. I like the characters to be dynamic and have multiple layers and sides to their personality.

Ideas:

I am H O R R I B L E at coming up with plots. But I'm good at playing second fiddle and will try to contribute to a good story. Sorry, I'm just kind of lame like that.

Mad Max: Fury Road
I LOVE this movie. Seriously. It makes me so happy. I'd be interested in either doing a fandom inspired RP, or an OC RP just set in this world.
I mean, look at this dork. Too cute.

So yeah, that concludes the tour. I will update this if I think of anything more to add, obviously. If there's nothing to add there's nothing to update. Duh-doy.

I'll more than likely post tonight or tomorrow latest. If anyone wants to collaborate on something just let me know. :P

By collaborate, do you mean plan a bit ahead for our characters? Because I think your character would be very much fun to play off for my character! I see a lot of frenemy potential with bickering and stubbornness and stuff 。◕‿◕。
Ok I am writing up a post now no worries lol

Ha ha, I didn't mean to rush you! Don't worry. I only said so because I've been online writing other stuff, so I thought I should mention it.
@Robo27
YES. I'm down. @ActRaiserTheReturned PM me.
@Furiosa

ive got you added to first page, im currently planning to redesign it somewhat into atchual sections like venues, public locations and others.

Great idea. The list is getting pretty long it so might be good to organize it all in categories

BTW: I am waiting for @Robo27 to get a chance to respond to the story so far before I'll write more.

BTW BTW: Any thoughts on how long it will be until there's a collective event? @PrinceAlexus @Pilatus
@WelcmeToGudBrgr Perhaps you could find a picture for your character as well that resembles your description the most?
I have three new location ideas. I'll just post them here so that anybody who wants can add something to them.

The Lighthouse

The story about the girl in the lighthouse is one of the urban legends that roams Sol City, and is the origin behind the restaurant’s name.
Back in the days when the Old Harbor was the city’s main income, several ships came and went each day. The city was disease ridden, and many people had already died because of shortage of a cure. One dreadful night, a ship loaded with medicine for the city got caught up in a terrible storm. Because of the weather, most of the pier workers had retreated indoors, and there were no one to come to the ships aid. No one except a brave girl who lived in the lighthouse with her family. She had only watched her father steer the lights before, but when she heard the screams coming from the ship she rushed to the top, safely guiding the ship to shore. She saved thousands of lives, both on the ship and of those who needed the medicine. Though nobody knows her real identity, the legend is one that every citizen of Sol City has heard as a child.
The Lighthouse has a casual atmosphere, good food and occasionally features live music. It’s located within a 5-minute walking distance of the Old Starboard.

Light Lane

Light lane, as locals calls it.
The street has a small book shop, a ramen shop, and several other local oriental types of fast food restaurants. Most of the eating places aren’t bigger than one line of bar stools at the counter, with a tiny kitchen behind it. The street is highly casual, and is located about a 10-minute walk away from Central Point. The atmosphere is cozy and the paper lanterns that goes along the entire street is the origin of the nickname for the street.

The Golden Mike

Are you in the mood to delve into a fantasy world free of the burdens of everyday life? Come on down to the Golden Mike and pour your feelings into the microphone. Bring your friends, grab some drinks and stay as long as you like. We’re open 24/7 for your pleasure. Whether you’re a couple of friends or a group of 20 we have a room to accommodate your needs. The Golden Mike is located in Central Point.

"My name is Dahl-"
Kylo almost tumbled down over a house elf that was waiting outside the door. The elf apologised hurriedly, eyes wide, before it looked at Brandon again.

"Dahlia, sorry, it's Dahlia. Nice to meet you." The dark-skinned girl finished her sentence, eyes wide, staring at the elf.

"Master Brandon should go home, Master Megara told Mooky to take young Master home. Master's mother said she will be busy in Gringotts more time."

Straightening up, Kylo nudged Dahlia in the side. “Looks like someone’s in trouble, or what, Dahlia.” He said in a sing-song voice, a goofy grin on his face. “I’m Kylo by the way.” .

Kylo looked at Brandon, waiting for his responce. “Well, are you coming or not?” He started running - more like a light jog at first, then picking up some speed, laughing. With his eyes still behind him, Kylo didn’t see the family of three walking by and came crashing down into them. Both he and a dark-haired girl fell to the ground. “Owie… M-my bad.” Kylo pulled out his leg from underneath the girl, standing up on shaky knees and reached out his hand to her. “I’m sorry, but we’re in a hurry, you see -” His grin was back on his face. “We’re on our way to the Wheezers before they’re sold out of all the good stuff!”

Ren White

The Old Starboard, sunday afternoon

Ren was fidgeting with the hem of his shirt. Marlin, huh. He knew little to nothing about flights, and therefore he was reluctant to say something on the subject. He hated talking about things that made him look ignorant. Luckily, he didn’t have to. Marlin pointed at his bag of books.

"So. Those books make you a lawyer, doctor or accountant."

Sighing heavily, already forgotten about his studies, Ren straightened his back, cracking his neck to both sides. “If it were up to my father I’d probably be all three.” He balled up his fists, knuckles turning slightly white. As if just realizing his own movements, Ren quickly loosened his grip and flexed his fingers, moving his hands under the table. Sheesh, way to go bringing up your daddy issues to a complete stranger.

“But yes, future doctor - at your service.” Ren did a two-fingered salute off his forehead, a half-hearted attempt of a smile hanging on his lips, not quite reaching his eyes. “And these little bad boys are my company until my next exam.” He patted his bag while speaking.

Ren was debating whether or not he should leave before the woman got tired of talking to him. On one hand, her company was not the worst. It was a nice distraction from his own thoughts. And the option of returning to his cold and quiet apartment wasn’t too tempting. Unconsciously Ren started fidgeting with his nails. It’s not like you know a bunch of people in this city. What’s the worst that can happen...

Ren had moved away from his childhood home in California to Sol City. Get some space to focus on his studies – or so he’d told his parents. They were displeased that he didn’t want to attend Stanford University like they had, but had reluctantly agreed to it. His father even bought him an apartment on the Riverside so Ren wouldn’t have to live in those filthy dorms, as he’d put it. To be honest Ren just wanted to get away from his father’s tight leash and being met with false niceties by everyone after introducing himself as a White. There was big money in that name, and his father had sunken his claws both here and there to get his way, businesswise and privately alike.

Ren and Marlin sat in silence for a while, both lost in thought. He was brought back to reality by the door closing loudly behind a new customer, who sauntered in and sat down on a table a few metres away from them. “That’s him – from the park...” What was only meant as a private thought slipped out under his breath without Ren noticing.

He watched as the waitress and the customer worked out a misunderstanding, before she hurried off to another table – even though there were few other people there. The man sat down by the bar instead and Ren felt his stomach twist again. That carefree look was back on the man’s face and it shouldn’t bother Ren as much as it did. He looked away quickly, as if the sight burned his eyes.

“So, you’re a pilot?” Focusing his eyes on Marlin again, continuing. “How did you fall into that line of business?” Even though Ren was uncomfortable with subjects in uncharted waters he would do anything right now to distract himself from the growing uneasiness in his stomach.

@PrinceAlexus @Robo27

Yeah, we need to let the americans come home from work to write something too :')
I'm so sorry @aladdin_sane, I failed to remember you entering the Coffee Pot when I wrote my intro! Ren is too egocentric to notice other people ಠ_ಠ Sheesh. I edited in how Ren didn't notice Sasha/Jocelyn at the very least. *Facepalms*
