Ugnis flipped up his blindfold as he walked towards the roar.

"Ha ha, it's been a while, hasn't it~!" Ugnis laughed to himself as he reached up to the sky in a stretch, looking around at his surroundings. "Rivenwood, again... Ha ha~" he chuckled under his breath as he drew Aegis and swung it around haphazardly, scarring the nearby trees with deep gashes. A wide grin crossed his face, remembering the other times he came here. "Ha ha ha~ I should come here more often!" Whether the monsters be beast or person, Ugnis liked to make deaths slow; making things bleed was almost artful to him, the light making the thick fluid glisten in the air and in pools on the ground. No one had agreed with him yet, but what did that matter to him?

Hearing the roar, much closer and in the air, Ugnis looked up at the scaled beast. This would be interesting! He'd never seen a dragon before, much less gotten a chance to see its anatomy. His excitement grew when it faced him and a green burst of flame headed in his direction. "Yes! Come over here-- Hey, where're you going?!" The dragon didn't even fight him, dammit! It just ran away like a coward! Red filmed over Ugnis's vision as he released a fury-filled roar, as if to match the dragon's. "GODDAMNIT, GET THE HELL BACK OVER HERE!" Ugnis clutched the side of his head as his face distorted into a snarl, unpleasant pulses pounding his head. His mind blanked out as a green blade replaced the relic in his left hand, at the same time both it and Aegis becoming whiplike blades.

He sprinted tirelessly towards the injured dragon, possessed with the thought of murdering it, but it had already flown out of range. Noticing the Crimson Streak preparing a lethal strike, Ugnis became frenzied, letting out another bloodthirsty cry. "YOU WON'T GET AWAY FROM ME!" he shouted, flinging his two blades skyward like razor-edged bolas without any regard for the rider. It didn't matter if she got hurt. "It's ok if she dies too~!" he laughingly said to himself, the morbid, slasher smile returning with the beating pulses in his head. "Just some unimportant collateral damage, ha ha~"
Sorry 'bout that.
"Don't worry about it," Ugnis replied, waving it off with a hand as he stood back up. He could relate to fighting something within himself, though it was his own doing that caused his current condition. Nonetheless, it did put a certain strain on his body, as he had to stay constantly aware of both his emotions and what occurred around him. As Ugnis ran this thought through his mind, the relic in hand glowed a bright toxic light that shined through his blindfold. It jerked slightly and seemed to spark in his hand, sending shocks through his body. Despite how irritating these odd sensations were, Ugnis couldn't bring himself to drop it. Unintentionally cringing as he crashed backwards into a tree, Ugnis wondered why not. It wouldn't break, nor would there be some adverse effect if he did. "So why can't I... Oh, right." He was keeping the relic because Mal wanted him to. Why was he keeping a promise he didn't even make? Why should he? A pulse from dark emotions, seemingly cheered on by the relic, resonated in Ugnis's mind. He cringed and put his hand to his head. "I won't have to if he's dead, right?" "Wait, stop that. No. Stop." "Don't think that." Ugnis quickly restabilized his train of thought, before more bad thoughts surfaced. "That... could have gone worse, to say the least." A deep, somewhat hostile roar sounded from nearby. "Ah, that's good," he thought unfazed, a thick feeling of anger still lingering inside of him. An outlet would get rid of that disgusting feeling, and usually made it easier to happily go about his days afterwards. He didn't care about how terrible the monster was; he just felt like murdering something. Dusting off the cape on his back, Ugnis said to Mal, "You're still tired from before, right? Just stay out of sight, and let me handle this," This was partly out of a personal reason, not wanting others to see what he was like when he wasn't just carefree. But, it was more because he'd stab anything in his way when he pulled up his blindfold, Mal and other people included. As both threat and warning, with an uncharacteristic undertone of hostility, Ugnis said as if to confirm that Mal understood, "Got it?"
While it seemed to Ugnis that everyone in the world was far too mature, far more grim than necessary, he found that mercenaries tended to be the darkest of all. But that Taskmage guy? He was like a really cynical flower, shooting out pessimistic pollen to make everyone cry and sneeze. Everyone knew about how bad the world was; there wouldn't be mercenaries everywhere if it were good. But to say that it's all bad is a vast overstatement, one that pissed off Ugnis to no extent. "That guy... why does he spend his time left in this 'doomed' world working for people that make it worse?" he thought to himself, tilting his head upwards towards what little of the sky showed through the canopy, burying his anger as he always did. "I'll invite him for tea the next time I see him." Talking couldn't change someone like that, but he'd be damned if he wouldn't give it a try. Ugnis sighed as he noticed the fatigued breaths. He stooped down and scooped up Mal, saying irritably, "How does someone get so tired that they can't stand from a short fight like that?" It was going to be a pain trying to find an inn, since Mal was half-asleep and... well, Ugnis wouldn't be able to find one in the first place. Sighing again, Ugnis plopped down beside Mal. "Anyways, my name's Ugnis C'zair. If you think you're awake enough to find an inn, I'll be fine with carrying you to it." It'd help if someone could direct them, but Ugnis didn't hear anyone nearby.

Ugnis was surprised when he heard the distinct sound of a blade on the relic, but was more surprised as to why not one of the other mercenaries came after him when he caught it. "Weren't they after this?" he asked himself quietly as he took in the sounds of their breathing, the boy's notably more labored than Sable's. Ugnis understood that exhaustion would have prevented either of them from pursuing the relic, but why had the seemingly normal Crimson Streak suddenly stop and lose interest? "I suppose I shouldn't worry about it," He thought to himself, perfectly fine with not having to fend them off. After a silent moment among all of them, he heard a shout come from the boy, posing an important question: what would he do with the relic? Noticing the breathing sleepily slow, Ugnis raised his voice. "Kid, the town's right next to you. At least try to get there before you crash for the night." He walked towards where the boy was to lend a hand, gathering the possible solutions for the question asked of him. "I don't need money, but I don't really want to keep this thing around," Ugnis thought, as he rolled the artifact in his hand, feeling the wild energy it seemed to be emitting. "I can't give it to the other mercs because they'll probably just sell it, and the boy doesn't want that to happen for some reason." Ugnis sighed at the answer he came to. "I suppose I'll be keeping this for now." he announced, not really wanting the burden to fall on himself. Nonetheless, it felt fulfilling to have it for some reason. He'd just have to work a bit harder to stay calm. Suddenly, Ugnis remembered to do something else. "Say, what's your name anyways, kid?" He could never tell who someone was unless their name was mentioned. Thus, it became a personal duty for Ugnis to learn every person's name that he came across, especially if they were a fellow mercenary that wasn't out for his blood.
"Hmm?" Midst the surge of spells stunning and suppressing the bear, Ugnis heard something like a small rock bouncing off the ground towards him. Unable to tell and curious as to what it was, he spun his leg out towards it and scooped it with his foot towards himself with surprising finesse and accuracy as he heard Sable and a chain lash out at it. But upon snagging it, Ugnis felt a dark, familiar pulse echo through his body and mind. He cringed slightly and started taking short, quick breaths. Was this what made that bear go wild? "I-is this a relic?" Ugnis asked with a slightly shaky voice. "This is... dangerous." He had no interest in the Relics or money in the first place and, now that he'd come into contact with one, had become absolutely clueless as to why anyone would want to collect them. Like dried skulls. Those are weird people.
Yatzhee.
<Snipped quote by Tracker> It's been 5 days... No rush though.
DOOOOON'T STOP BELIEVIN'
"This is Rivenwood?" Ugnis inquired quietly, confused by this statement. Though he didn't think Sable was lying, as there was no reason he could think of for her to do so, he still had no idea of how to get to town; the woods were still simply whispering, without any town noise to guide him. "Perhaps the fog is stifling the sound..." Ugnis thought to himself as he walked in the general direction that the pair and the peculiar boy went. They were heading to the town and, as he had no idea where the town was, figured it would be best to follow them. Fortunately, the taunts thrown between them were loud enough that he could trace them though the hushing blanket of fog. As he began to hear town noise, he also heard a large creature... A bear? "Its steps sound heavier than normal," Ugnis noted as he approached. Perhaps it would be best to stand to the side on this one and let the more professional people handle it. He stood silently at a good distance away, drawing no attention and listening to the action.
