Advantages
Mobility/Swiftness- Like most airbenders, Rin is a master of evasion and agility. In tandem with his airbending he can accomplish feats such as running up a wall or even imitating flying.
Highly Perceptive- Being a calm and care free fellow, he often takes a look at things from a step back trying to see all and any solutions. He may notice little things that others may not such as a weak spot or flaw in technique and often times tries to act as the ultimate diplomat.
Bending Scholar- Has and is currently studying all forms of bending and attempts to incorporate new techniques into his air bending

Disadvantages
Pacifist- While not as pacifistic as most air nomads, he is a strong believer that a fight should be your last solution
Value of Life- Will go out of his way to insure that all life is left at peace. If this means taking a hit for another person or animal he will. He can also never ignore a being in need, if someone needs help he feels that it is everyone's moral responsibility to assist them.
Lazy- He often attempts to find the simplest solution to avoid doing the most work. This can lead to many problems, team disputes, not being prepared, often disappearing when work needs to be done.

Personality: Rin could be considered your fairly typical air nomad, one who practices their monk beliefs. He is a very carefree and nomadic soul, he never feels bound to one place or another and is always drawn forward by the journey. Little worries him as he believes all will work itself out in the end, his main concerns in life are his next meal and if someones life is in trouble. Being the helpful nomad that he is, he can often be found "reluctantly" helping out villagers.
One can find him often doting over others acting like big brother, while carefree in his own life, he is quite the opposite towards others. Being lazy he reluctantly offers his help but when people clearly need assistance he make no qualms about doing so.

History: Being raised by Meelo, one could expect Rin to be a few marbles short. And you would be wrong, the only thing Rin took after his father for was his tendency to be a goof and his reluctance to work. With the resurgence of air benders after the events of Harmonic convergence, Meelo had moved to watch over the Eastern Air Temple when he grew of age, here he raised his new family, and instructed new airbenders and the air acolytes in the Air Nomad traditions. It was pretty out of hand as one could also assume of Meelo's 'many' children.

The most fundamental teaching at the Eastern Air Temple was that of freedom. And naturally Rin was encourage to delve into his own interests, his being the art of bending. He was fascinated in the many forms of bending since he had first witnessed something other than airbending. He had a natural talent in bending is own element and being the young rebellious spirit he was at the time, began to experiment with his bending. He was fascinated by the piercing power of the lightning that few firebenders could use and wished to somehow replicate it. Over time he developed his air drill technique, by rapidly spiraling air around his arm he could build enough pressure to launch a piercing beam of spiraling air. Although due to its destructive nature, never shared this technique with the elders, or even his father.

After earning his tattoos at 18, Rin left on his journey to broaden his horizons and develop his bending further, hoping to bring home an array of new techniques for his culture.
