What do you suggest for next steps? Start calling people? Go back to Data?

I never think asking Data is a bad idea. Even if he’s clueless, he’s smart enough to know what general direction to go with just about anything.

I’m guessing she doesn’t remember me either. I hope that—that our family survives this.

*Fixes my posture and holds my fist out in front of me*
You break a bone, it only heals stronger, right? You’ve all been through worse. It’ll turn out fine.

Who? Rhythm?

Yes.

Bizarre is underselling it. I start the day with the intent to celebrate with you two only to find out that I have a close relative that I've somehow forgotten everything about, who I may have seen as recently as this morning. It's surreal.

*My phone beeps, and I pull it out to stare at it for just a moment, slumping my shoulders for a moment before putting it away and continuing the discussion*
Surreal… It sure is. I think she could handle the news, but I don’t want to bother her with it unless it’s necessary.

It must have been gradual. I... hate to ask, but what is my sister like?

She… It’s bizarre. You of all people never deserve to have to ask that question. But she’s great. You’ll see.

*Rubs the bridge of my nose*
For all I know, obvious solutions could be intentionally blocked out of my memory.

If it makes you feel any better, I don’t think either of you knew remotely what was happening when this started and the effects were more mild.

I can try asking some experts, but I don’t know how far we’ll get. Or maybe there’s a roundabout way of asking mom without directly tipping her off to the problem.

Seems a bit too close to home to try and dance around. But maybe I’m just too risk averse.
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

Sure, but the parallels between this and neurological problems are there. Going back to the original question, finding someone who can figure out what was done and how to reverse it will be tricky. At least, other than the one who caused it.

Well…

*Nods and swipes at one point in particular*
This sounds an awful lot like a form of anosognosia, in humans that is. People with visual anosognosia can't see, but are completely convinced that they can.

Hmm… A tiny bit different. Plus the memory loss.

But it wasn't like we were in two different worlds, right? If one of us made a hole, the other would need to step over it.

All four of us were fighting the same bird, right? You certainly weren’t fighting it in two different places.
