Would you... have some way to extract that information from mom without triggering those memories?

There’s no way I’d risk it because I just do not know.
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

I'd sooner trust you than some of the characters who would jump at the opportunity.

We’ll keep the option in mind.
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

Right. And that’s where I’m mostly at a loss.

<Snipped quote by Spiritblitz>

A place, no. Maybe there’s a handful of people who know how to do something like that in our world. But I’ve never heard of anything like this happening before, and digital creatures are still not understood very well.

We could learn, maybe. I absolutely hate doing it to… “Sentient Machines” for lack of a better term, but I have a bit more than a natural gift for navigating technology… And I’m not proposing using you as a lab rat either, don’t get the wrong idea.
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

It's an uncomfortable start. Fixing that is along the same lines as brain surgery.

And requires expertise, just like brain surgery.
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

Sure. There’s a lot to it, but the last step of processing is to go into something that’s, for all intents and purposes, some sort of core that turns that data into what I perceive. That must be where the problem is, if everything else picks her up properly.

Well. That’s a start.
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

Then the question is diagnosis. How could this be happening?

You know enough about your own anatomy to have an idea based on how you process information?
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

Which is... strange. I should be able to do some sort of analysis, but there's just nothing there.

I think it’s safe to say this means the issue runs deeper than what we’re analyzing right now then.
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

I should be able to see it, then... it's just a quasi-recording.

Your ability to perceive itself is messed up. Not the actual perception… If that makes sense. It seems, anyway.

<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

I can't see anyone else.

I wouldn’t have expected your memory to pick her up at all. But she’s right there.
*Points with my finger several times in an exaggerated manner*
Plain as day.
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

Can you point her out?

*Does so*
