Isaac, are y—

<Snipped quote by Artifact>

We've got to go.
*Grabs your shirt and yanks you with a near-fling into the outer control room*

Whay!
*Flails my arms around as I slide across the floor on my back. After coming to a stop, I hurriedly sit up and hold my arm out, pulling my black box into my hand telekinetically*
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

*Broken in scattered pieces and welded to a virtual stone pillar within the server, flattens my hand against the ground in attempts to pull myself away from the digital prison and toward the data flow*

What in the name of-
*Reels in surprise, slipping on a piece of rubble and falling backwards onto the floor*
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

*The terminal gladly complies and begins the transfer*
I'll bet the demolitionists felt the same way.
*Half-smirks*
Enough that they decided to never come back.

I’m half tempted to come back and do it myself later, local ordinances be darned.
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

*A new suite of options opens up from the terminal, partially obscured by a yellow warning modal suggesting manual maintenance*
We should really just do a full backup of the server, run through the memory and storage bit-by-bit, and get as much that matches Purge01's pattern that we can. If it's even on there.

I like the way you think, because I do not want to be here any longer than needed.
*Takes a compact drive from my pocket, plugs it into my little box, and tries to initiate a backup*
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

From what I can tell, this is corrupted. Probably from radiation exposure.

Man…
*Tries to interact with the terminal manually now*
Can we even get anything useful from this at this point, then?
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

*The negotiation completes and generates the world, but the terminal builds out a much denser environment than it originally predicted in the handshake and transmits complex but apparently meaningless data structures to your device*

Why’s a computer in a place like this behave like this?
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

*The two establish a successful connection and begin negotiating a shared cyber world*
Especially not connected to the larger net.

*Simply observes this development to see if the conditions evolve*
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

Part of it's safety. You want to keep these things as far from networks whenever you can.

I’ll be darned if I connect it to anything important though, just in case.
*Summons a small black box and sets it at my feet, then connects the terminal to a new local network*
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

These old things don't maintain their own networks. You have to hook one up yourself. But I was sort of hoping you could get around that.

I can just do that, I guess. But that’s so weird.
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>

*It returns a protocol error, requesting an external digital zone to render*

Immediate stumper. What’s this?
