"Now that you've heard his words of inspiration, it is time for this test to get under way."
Bridget snapped awake blinking the sleep from her eyes. Did I really just fall asleep on my feet? Never done that before. She reached up to adjust her hood into place in order to surreptitiously wipe a little drool from her lip.
"You will all be taking one of the many Zip-lines located around this area, and riding them down the pass and into the basin of Forever Fall. The rules of partnership are simple, first come, first served. Eye-contact binds you together as a pair, and every pair must search around the basin for an artifact."
Bridget let out a little moan of despair, I don't even know anyone here, who am I supposed to partner up with? She looked around at all the other trainees adjusting their weapons and armor and took a moment to make sure that Rakurai was secure against her leg, when collapsed it just looked like a small-ish stick. Bridget allowed herself a tiny smirk, musn't let them see her loose her poise after all. Boy are they gonna be suprised when they see me in action.
"Two pairs with a matching Artifact will make a team of four, which, needless to say, will be your permanent team. Good luck to all...and uh, word of warning Students, there are Grimm a-plenty in there. Oh, and a train. Careful of the train. Now...any questions before you start?"
Bridget very carefully said nothing at all and after she saw several other students heading for ziplines she made her way towards an unoccupied one, looking for signs of the aforementioned train. Once she reached the edge of the cliff she hesitated, That is a long way down she tells herself, I don't normally have any issues with heights, but that is a LONG way down Seeing the other students plunging gleefully into the forest she realized there as nothing for it and took a small hop off the cliff and began rushing down the zip line into the forest.
Seeing that her zipline was going to take her past a small pond she let go and landed in a tuck and roll that brought her up just a little way from the waters edge. Knowing that predators tend to lurk in just such areas she immediately began focusing on her surroundings, and was able to keep track of anything in her vicinity. Confident that there was no imminent danger she paused to take a drink from the pond then began a light jog towards the artifacts.
