Bella Bella watched as Josive stormed out of the room. She felt a brief spark of anger at his words and willingness to just walk out on them and Aelita. She just shook her head though, shrugging off her frustrations for the moment. They would need to focus to try to help Aelita, assuming that everyone else agrees to continue trying to figure this out. Bella decided that at this point she wouldn't be able to live with herself if something bad happened to the girl and she could have done something to prevent it. Bella took a deep breath to compose herself. "Okay, Flippy, Jared, are you two still willing to stay and help?" she asked. Bella turned to the laptop, getting ready to scroll through the videos and documents when she heard the elevator come back, this time with loud banging noises coming from it. She stood up. "What in the world-" she said as the elevator opened and Josive fell out, surrounded by an army of mini robots. She hurried over to try to get the robots away from him.
Bella "Wow", she said, not really knowing what to think of this. A virtual world? It wasn't possible. Was it? She thought about the girl from the computer monitor. And then there were those weird repeat videos. It was like the Deja Vu from the Matrix movie. Something wasn't right. Bella thought about what Josive said about XANA. Part of her wanted to stop Josive from shutting down the computer to keep going and see how this plays out. But another part of her was scared. Bella didn't want anyone to get hurt. It did seem like they were in over their heads. So she decided not to say anything. It would only be right to keep investigating if everyone agreed to it.
Bella Bella hurried into her room. Okay, the girl said it was somewhere under the bed. She crawled under, shoving random objects out of her way. Finally she found it. Bella scurried out from underneath the bed and looked at the piece of paper. It bore the mark that Aelita had told her to look for. She shuddered, the symbol seemed to echo with some sort of darkness. She folded it up and shoved it in her backpack so she wouldn't have to pay much attention to it. Now done searching her room, she hurried out to to go find Josives computer and CD's. It wasn't until she got down to the boy's floor that she realized that he hadn't told her which number his room was. Oh no, she thought. Bella looked around, wondering which one could be his. She didn't want to go back empty handed. She walked down the hallway and stopped, seeing a blueish light shining under one of the doors, the same light that a computer usually gives off. I hope this is it, she thought, turning the door knob. She looked inside the room, which was pretty messy, just like Josive had mentioned it being. She looked on the desk and saw a laptop and a bunch of computer disks. Yes! She grabbed them and put them into her backpack then quickly hurried out. She crossed the school grounds and returned to the sewer entrance. The journey back didn't take quite as long to get back. Soon Bella was at the factory again. She ran through the corridors and managed to find her way back to the elevator. Bella paused to try to catch her breath while the elevator was moving. "I'm back," she called breathlessly when the doors opened. She hurried over to Josive at the computer, noting that the other two kids seemed to be exploring some other room. "Here's everything," she said, handing her backpack to him.
lol yeah, that was a pretty good idea! Cool creepy skeleton mask in your avatar too
Bella Outside the factory, Bella hurried through the entrance to the sewers. She climbed down to a long tunnel, which was thankfully empty. Bella supposed that it must just be for the water from the storm drains that were on the sides of the roads. About to take off running, she noticed a skateboard lying on the ground. That's how the kids traveled down here, she thought, grabbing the skateboard. For the first time in her life she was actually glad that her brother had insisted on her learning how to ride one. After a few turns she arrived at where the tunnel to the school should be. She left the skateboard and quickly scaled the ladder and opened up the manhole cover. It took a few minutes for her eyes to adjust to the bright afternoon light. Once she could see she saw a familiar-looking building in front of her. The gym! She quickly scurried out of the hole, replacing the cover. Thankfully she thought no one noticed her, most of the students were inside already, probably having dinner, she thought, remembering she hadn't eaten since before noon. There was no time to think about that now though. She dashed across the school grounds to get to the dormitory. Almost there, she thought once she got in. She ran down the hallway and turned the corner to the stairs when- "Whoah!" She yelped as she slammed into someone. She lost her balance and fell to the ground, sliding a few feet from her momentum. "Ow..." she groaned quietly. She hurried back onto her feet though, she couldn't let this slow her down. She looked up to see this really really tall kid towering over her. "Oh, that's okay. I'm fine," she replied to his hasty apology. "It was my fault. You're okay too right?" she asked, trying to catch her breath. "Oh no, I need to hurry before it's too late," she said when she saw the time on the clock on the wall. "I'll catch you later!" Bella called, continuing down the hallway at a fast pace.
Bella "Alright, sounds good," Bella said, turning back the way they came. "I'll be back as soon as I can!" she called, sprinting towards the way out, trying to memorize how Aelita described the symbol.
Bella Oh, it's a video! Bella thought when the picture stared talking. No not a video, an actual person, one of the missing kids! She seemed so confused though. She didn't have a clue what was going on. Soon the girl, Aelita, started getting more frantic, saying something about walking through walls. Bella watched with baited-breath as two red dots started going towards the white dot that must be the girl. She yelled that they were attacking her, but luckily it sounded like she got away a moment later. It didn't make any sense though. There was no such thing as monsters, right? Something was really, really wrong here. "What symbol?" she asked the girl. "Your room... 335 right?" Bella glanced at the other two. "I could go and find it. If I run I can get there and back real fast now that I know the way. Maybe it can help her," she said, looking back towards the elevator. This is crazy, she thought. They actually managed to make contact with one of the missing kids! Now they just had to figure out how to find her.
Bella "Yikes!" Bella yelped when the elevator doors slammed shut. She had just stepped in after Flippy before they closed. She froze as it started moving of its own accord. Then it stopped on another floor and opened. This is really creepy, she thought. Maybe staying wasn't such a good idea. She walked out into the new room, noting the strange architecture. "Oh," she gasped when the hologram flared to life. A huge forest grew in midair in the center of the room. She had never seen a hologram that was so detailed before. It was magnificent, she thought. But she tore her eyes away from the hologram to go see what the boys were doing on the computer, hearing them start talking about the missing kids. "There's a picture of that girl left behind in my room," she said, shocked to see the image on the computer monitor. "What could she and those kids have been doing in here?" she wondered out loud. This whole place was so bizarre. There was so much high-tech equipment that it looked just like a scene from one of her brother's sci-fi movies.
Bella "As long as we are careful, I think we should go further," Bella said, though she was also a bit nervous. "It feels like we are getting so close now to figuring this out." She stepped further into the room, giving the broken robot a wide berth, and walked up to the giant computer, wondering what it was for.
Bella "Hmm," Bella hummed, somewhat annoyed. She couldn't tell what this kid's motivation was, or why he was so determined to follow them around. He was quite rude, hurling all those accusations at them. Bella supposed it didn't matter though, as long as they were able to make progress in their search. She was going back to search some more when Josive shouted that he found something. She hurried over to him, seeing a door that had been hidden in the shadows. The keypad was broken though. She watched as Josive started trying to repair the door. The tangled mess of wires seemed complicated, but he seemed to know what he was doing.
