Name: Katsu Fukui Age: 21 Rank: V Nationality: Japanese Weapon: Six ringed Shakujō Gear: Various prayer slips Appearance: Image Katsu stands at 5' 4" and weighs a modest 110 lbs. His facial features are sharp and he has a very lean build. He keeps himself clean shaven save for the top of his head which he keeps at a low buzz cut. While he is at the office his attire consists of a business suit, but during missions and free time he opts to wear his monk's robes. Personality: Soft spoken and good-hearted, Katsu is the pinnacle of respect. Always swift and to the point, he has caught the eyes of many within the Agency for his ability to process information quickly and act appropriately. Most times he can come off distant and disinterested, but this is only because he is often very busy with a lot on his mind. His free time is usually spent alone unless he is invited out, which he will always accept as he finds it rude to reject someone's charity. History: The Fukui family has been part of the Agency for fifteen generations, and a devout family of monks. When he was born, it was expected that he do the same, and such he went through life. He remembers his young days were full of traveling, studies into mythology and lore, and how to wield his Light to aid the cause. The first time he was able to manifest his Light was when he was six, it poured out of him an encased him in a bubble. A month later his father took him along on an extermination mission to have him test his skill. His memory of a harpy swooping down to steal him away was his first combat experience, the intense fear of something bigger, much older, and way more powerful than him reaching out with its clawed legs shook him to the core. The Light surged out of him, and the harpy bounced off of his protective shield, and it did so again and again. The fear he had turned to happiness, then to pride, he realized he had the power to deny them, he had the power to tell them no. At the age of fourteen he was assigned to a city in Japan, his first station as a Knight. As the years went on he would be transferred from city to city and he got to meet more and more people within the Agency. To this day it amazes him how few people the agency has, and it has showed him that each man lost is a dire blow to TERA. On the day he was appointed Leader of the TERA Knights of Grayridge, he vowed that he would not loose anyone to the nightmares, that no one would get left behind or dragged off to unimaginable horrors. Having held this position for just under two years, he has kept that oath to the best of his abilities, because some times things happen that you couldn't have planed for, and those are the thing that make him feel like his six year old self again. Hobbies: When he is not busy working, he like to take the time to either meditate or browse art galleries. He is also an avid reader of fiction and children s books, which he calls research. Style: Support Abilities: Creates wards and barriers that prevent those of malicious intent from passing. The barrier can be held around himself or on a stationary position he sets up. Having been a squad leader of TERA for some time now, he has the combat expertise and foresight to plan an attack against most minor threats and some greater threats. Using his Shakujō he can fend for himself, but it is difficult for him to put up a new barrier if he is engaged in combat.
Whoops, yea that is a thing. Rank is essentially a way of saying how long you have been a Knight. The higher the rank the more experienced you are. I just thought it would be an easier way to show how long everyone has been doing their job, and who might be stronger then who though that is not the main reason for it. I'll make it a point to award promotions IC, give the characters a reason to celebrate once in a while.
Ok, OCC is up, there is more information there, I'm still at work so I will fix it up at some time tonight. OCC
Once a plight upon mankind, stories of monsters and vile creatures now serve as lessons for children, tall tales about how the weak can overcome the strong, about how simply trying, means you win. Long ago these nightmares were real, they demanded tribute, terrorized villages, they did all they could to keep us huddled, alone and afraid, getting us to fear the darkness. Now these monster are gone, no longer do they dwell in our realm for humanity drove them out, marching through their lands and liberating it in the name of progress. Leading the assault were people know by various names, people who were revered as heroes for their abilities to defy the odds, to perform miracles. These people were not special, everyone is born with the Light inside them, but few have the mettle to use it. All around the world there were such individuals, and when the world was finally small enough, they united under the name TERA and swore oaths to do all they can to keep the monsters out. Regrettably, the enemy enters the world through the hearts of man, being born from their despair and malice toward one another. It is the job of the Knights of TERA to stand vigilant, and protect the world when something crosses the boundary into our realm. The city of Greyridge holds one such unit of young Knights, this is the journey of their trials and tribulations as they learn what it truly means to be a hero. Rules: 1. Standard rules, keep it fair, keep it clean, keep it civil, keep it active, keep it exiting, keep it tame. I'm not a hard ass but I do like to keep the standard of community. 2. Everyone is part of the story. I'm GM sure, but you guys can craft the world and the story any way you see fit. NPCs, locations, encounters, I encourage character driven stories. 3. If there are any problems, ideas, or you just need someone to talk to, feel free to PM me. I'm here to have fun and you should too. 4. Post your CS in OCC before you post it in Characters. This will likely be open for a while but if that changes I will change it here in the rules. Holding off new applicants until further notice, (save for the six people who have shown interest.)
This RP fell through a long time ago and I recently got the drive to start it up again. First off it is a modern fantasy anime themed world, nothing over the top, but I feel the need to throw that out there. It will also progress like an anime, meaning a major arc, minor arcs, and filler. So the story is that we (four to eight people) work for TERA (Taboo Emendation and Recovery Agency), an international agency dedicated to taking care of all manner of things that go bump in the dark. A long time ago the world was full of evil creatures, but now they have all but been eradicated. However they found a way back, they can be summoned into the world by both knowing and unknowing individuals who are full of resentment and malice. It is our job to slay the monsters, and capture the perpetrator if possible. Our power comes from what we call the Light, basically the source of that warm and fuzzy feeling inside of us all. Unfortunately only children (12 – 21) can wield the power in a combative manner as their perception of the world has yet to be tarnished. There are three ways to use the Light, as a weapon, as a shield, and as a positive energy. I will explain the world more if I can get some interests, about three. But as I said it is modern fantasy, so the world is as it is today, without magic. Monster sightings are minimal, and rarely make it past the tabloids. Your weapons can be anything as it will be empowered by the Light. So we can all take some liberties, so long as it is believable. The monsters we will fight will be from various religions and mythos, so I will be open to suggestions. I will also make it a point to give everyone their own character story arc, because those are always a blast. Lastly, we operate in secret and discretion is of the upmost importance. But let the hijinks ensue. I'm open to questions and feedback, so let me know if your interested or if you need more clarification as I do have some material.
Not my best post, but I felt like I should post something. :) Sry that took so long. This weekend was real life.
"So that’s how its gunna be. I guess we can talk more when we are done." It bummed him out a little bit, but he figured this was serious time. Going all out wasn't Zee's style, he much preferred to toy with his enemy, learning what he can from their movements so that the next time, he could end the battle quickly if need be. He continued to walk backwards as a jest, having no problem hitting anything, save for a stumble he thought he handled that pretty well. From his right he heard a call in a familiar voice, and out from the bushes popped the young lady he met the day before. "Nahbi!" Zedong greeted his recent acquaintance happily. "All of these woods and you happen to find me? If I didn't know better I'd say you were stalking me, or its coincidence, but don't bruise my ego. I'm glad to see your safe." He could see the traces of battle on her, and the smell was undeniable. "Bathing in the blood of your enemies? I mean do your own thing but it’s a little too old fashioned for me." Turning to his companion he took care of the introductions, "Yasuri this is Nahbi, small but fierce. Nahbi this is Yasuri, silent but, no that’s all I got. He's cool tho. Did you get a partner yet, cause I don't think third wheels are allowed?"
My CS is a work in progress, I'll finish it some time tonight or in the morning. She is a mage with a focus on utility rather then offense. Which leads me to a few questions, how does magic work? Sheer force of will, through a focus, incantations and arm movements, magic circles, any combination there of or do we each do our own thing? And how does one learn magic? Is it trial and error, tomes and lore, or simple willpower and finesse? EDIT: I'm actually going to pull out. I hope you all have fun.
I believe I am interested in this. Can't wait to see the OOC. I have the idea for a support character.
Even though his partner started to hurry off deeper into the woods, Zee stayed and watched the Grimm, his eyes filled with discontent. He eyed the fallen husks of the Grimm, three in total, easily dispatched. Moments passed and one by one the bodies started to fall apart, evaporating into the air. "Good riddance," the spearman said in a low growl. Turning away he had every intention of moving on his way, but his mixed feeling wouldn't let him. He hated the Grimm, they were a plight on the world of Remnant, he wanted them routed, humiliated and destroyed, yet he couldn't let them know that. Moving closer to the fallen creatures he took a knee and bowed his head. "May you go in peace. I thank you for all you have given me, and pray that your spirit will be at peace." With that the last speck of black vanished into wind. Soon after he caught up with his partner. "Sorry about that, old habits die hard," he said. It was then he realized that the two of them haven't had a conversation go more than two exchanges. That spoke volumes to Zedong, if the two of them were going to get along, they had better get to know each other. Picking up the pace, he turned to face Yasuri, and continued to walk backwards while keeping eye contact. "So Yasuri, you don't say much do you? Are those your nerves speaking or are you always this stoic?"
