Location: Indoor Chunnin Exam Arena, Nighttime

Walking across the overlook, Kobuto saw the Raikage down below. The Chunnin exams had just been held, and many genin had fought here this day. It was a great thing to grant him access to the Land of Lightning, he wasn't sure he'd get another chance like this again. Of all the kages, he was sure he could handle the rest who he understood. This man though, he was an enigma, even to his own country. Boozing around hadn't gotten him any information, and had even landed him in trouble a few times with the Antare Clan. It made his trip a little depressing. He'd hoped to learn a bit while here, now he'd just have to settle for this.

Of course, his genin had performed well as well during his trip, but that almost seemed like an afterthought compared to what he was hoping for. For now it was just him and the Raikage. In a few moments it would be just him. Kobuto made himself known, though he doubted he was hidden, despite his best effort. His favorite little book made him hard to hide.

"My, my, Raikage, quiet a showing. I think the genin are getting better every year."

Kobuto thumbed through his Jade Book of Heaven. As he did, his finger emitted chakra via finger carving seal. The mark it made across the paper spread, writing the word 'explode' in Kanji across. His fingers continued to thumb through the pages, making more marks.

Description: Kobuto wears a pair of gloves that muffle his chakra in his hands. These gloves's ability to muffle chakra also make them unable to be affected by seals. Kobuto can carry seals on them without himself being affected. The index finger of these gloves are cut off to allow him to use jutsu.

Name of Weapon or Item: Jade Books of Heaven: Creation Jeweled Spear


Description: The item for which Kobuto is most known for. It is a part of a series of books that are connected together.

The book draws in chakra from a radius of half a kilometer, in proportion to it's strength, siphoning it in. The amount stolen is minuscule, and due to being proportional, is rarely ever fatal, as it will always leave a portion behind.

The cover of this book is hard as stone, and it's chakra draining amount is much higher in direct contact. Without special gloves, it can drain a person of most of their chakra in minutes. This draining on contact also renders it resistant to chakra enhanced blades, as their chakra is stolen on contact.

The pages of this book are excellent conductors of chakra as well, making them ideal for seals. Any book in the series whose first 30 pages written upon will have the writing appear across all books in the series. The pages can be erased via chakra.

The book itself consumes chakra passively, meaning there's not a 'constant' charge between battles for Kobuto to draw on, but he can steal chakra from it gathered midbattle.

Weakness: It's heavy tax damages Kobuto's chakra system, he can only use it once a day, and it weakens his jutsu use after one use due to the damage.

All this make it a poor jutsu to blitz an opponent with, as Umichi is likely to get hurt. It does make a good runaway jutsu however. Prolonged use will of course tire Umichi out.

Description: Flooding his book with his own chaka at once, Kobuto reverses its flow, causing it to blast out chakra throughout the area(in a light blue shockwave), attaching Kobuto's chakra everything chakra-infused in the area. Once expelled, the book then pulls back with renewed force, ripping all of Kobuto's chakra, along with anything attached to it, into the book. Should a ninja avoid the initial outspilling of chakra, they can avoid the technique completely. Once Kobuto's chakra is attached, disrupting their chakra flow with release will eject Kobuto's chakra, only taking a part of their chakra system.

It is Kobuto's ultimate attack, it will nullify all jutsu in an area, and threaten to kill anyone unable to cancel the drain, however it has heavy drawbacks on him as well.

History: Akira was born to the Hikaru clan, a fairly unknown clan in the Hidden Cloud. At a young age, he unlocked the rare light release in his clan. He was hailed as a genius by his family. At first, he didn’t understand what made him any different from anyone else, but after years of praise, he’s come to believe it himself.

In the academy, he passed with flying colors, looking down at others for their grades, not even bothering to talk to those who failed the class. He made many enemies. Two years ago, a fight broke out between him, and several of the flunks. Akira figured it wouldn’t take long to set them in their place, but was surprised to be beat to a pulp.

Akira swore vengeance on that bunch, even after his teacher had disciplined them. He decided he would not only would he beat them, he would do it with something only a true genius could use. He turned to the rarest form of jutsu he could find, time/space jutsu, and worked hard to learn it.

In the end, he succeeded, learning time/space jutsu, and he challenged the group of failures again. His fight was broken up by the Sensei, but only after he had managed to pull of a jutsu or two.

Personality: Akira has been raised around the teaching that he’s better than everyone, and he truly believes it. He believes himself to be a genius of a high caliber, and that he has a reputation to live up to. He goes out his way to do the difficult, and hide his failures. History: Shingen is a mysterious individual, appearing 2 years ago around the time of the assassination of the Mizukage, with no written record. Though many blame him for its happening, he refutes it vehemently. He claims to have always been a loyal subject to the Mizukage, and has only stepped out of ANBU in order to bring back the control she had on the Mist. He began by calling for a stop to the bloodshed in the middle of a battle, appearing between the two warring sides.

He of course was attacked from two sides, and yet neither side could even land a blow on him, despite everyone’s claim that he had. He then summoned a mighty storm, and scared off the battle from occurring. Since then he has sought out, and allied himself with many shinobi he believes can make the Mist stronger, and has succeeded in gathering many powerful ones. Eventually his ‘allies’ became a large influence in Kiri, naming themselves the Hito no kyōdai ai (The People’s Brotherhood) able to stop any skirmishes of lesser forces.

Shingen asserts himself as the true Mizukage on his strengthening of allies, and refuses to step down, even when bloodshed occurs. He rarely appears himself, and always trust his allies to take care of things.

Personality: Shingen is a charismatic men, who uses his trust in his allies to bring out their true strength. He depends on their them, and they depend on him in turn. He always talks hopefully about the future, and has an very high zeal for it. Shingen shows an even greater zeal for rebuilding the Mist, and to make the nightmare of the bloody mist fade from everyone’s minds.

He’s a very hard man to get a hold of. He does everything according his to his own time schedule, when he feels is best. He would upstage a kage if he felt he had better things to do.

History: Born the 2nd child of a central family to the main family of the Tonbo clan, a clan that lives on the outskirt of town. Prepped and groomed, the clan expected her to act like an heir, in case anything were to happen to her older brother. Mochizuki hated it, feeling stifled by rules in her own room. She felt much freer wandering the desert. Her parents called her unruly, and swore they would turn her into a proper princess. A few years later, they were content with her not doing anything stupid.

Like many, Mochizuki became a ninja for her clan, finding adventure to be fun, and a shinobi to have more travels than anyone else. Her parents were pleased she was at least doing something in line with the clan. They were displeased when she however started signing up for unsafe missions. Most in her clan were only scouts due to their dojutsu, and nothing else.. In the end, a concession was made training her. She would be allowed on normal missions, should she stay away from danger. She at first said no, but then no one would train her. Even her sensei was pressured to keep away for a month(with a hefty bribe.). She relented, and learned skills for long range for combat. Otherwise, she kept exploring for dangerous situation.

Personality: Mochizuki isn’t as ‘royal’ as others expects her to be. A tomboy, adventurous, and ineloquent, Mochizuki’s a free spirit, unwilling to be chained. She just wants to enjoy life, travel, and see new sights. It doesn’t sit well with her clan. She finds the fact a clan based on the dragon to so unspirited to be just wrong. Her retribution is to just pretend they don’t exist.

Mochizuki does what she wants, and deals with the consequence later. She runs away constantly, and volunteers constantly for missions far away, or too dangerous.

Cliff climbing is a favorite hobby of hers.

Description: This Kekkei genkei has two forms. It forms a set of wings on the user from birth. Though the wings may be damaged, they constantly regrow. They are covered in scales, much like an insect's. The wings however are unable to support the weight of the one born with them, useless for actual flight, making them more of a novelty.

The Dojutsu that comes along with this however, is much more useful. It allows the user to focus in on an object, and zoom in on it, as if with a high powered magnifying glass. The user’s irises expand as they use this. Focused on an object, they tend to not see what’s around them. They have a scope of about 2 miles. The speed of their scope is the measure of their skills with this KG. Masters of it can scope in and out in less that a second. Others, like Mochizuki take about 1 second per every quarter mile. It can’t see through objects, so useless in a forest or the like.

General Data

History: Mitsunari was born to a moderate family in the Takeda family. His father was a chunin ranked ninja who often took care of his sickly mother. Mitsunari adored his father, and initially wanted to grow up to be just like him. His father, Yukimura, was an honorable man, who didn’t care about his rank. He just did what he felt was right, and served his village. He was a stark contrast to the normal ninja of Kiri. Mitsunari decided he would become a ninja just like his father, and asked his father to teach him how to use jutsu.

The last thing his father taught him was his lightning release, before he was sent off of homeguard duty to the thick of battle in the first shinobi war. Mitsunari was just 10 when his father was killed in the battle. His grades suffered, and he didn’t exercise like he did before. His father could no longer afford their home, and moved to the slums.

Mitsunari was in a depression for about a year, very nearly kicked out of the academy before he pulled himself out of it. He decided finally, he could keep his father alive, if he made him some sort of hero, then he would be remembered by everyone, and it’d be like he was there all the time for Mitsunari. That’s when the ‘Takeda’ clan was born, comprised of 3 members, him, his ill mother, and his non ninja sister.

Mitsunari also became devious, determining he would make the Takeda well known, no matter what. He constantly annoyed his senseis with it. But it was his motivation, a very strong motivation. He found himself skilled with genjutsu, and took pride in it. He soon became involved in the First Shinobi War.

Mitsunari was a coward. Unable to fight well with ninjutsu in a direct fight, and hopeless with taijutsu, his teammates laughed and laughed at him in happier situations, and hated him as a burden in heavier situations. They made fun of the Takeda clan he was so proud of.

Hating them, he decided he was going to do something to prove the Takeda clan worthwhile. He did something reckless, and invaded the enemy camp in the middle of the night. Starting a commotion, he cast genjutsu wherever he walked through it, causing the enemy nin to start fighting each other. His jutsu, Hell Viewing: False Hit, caused them to hit their allies as they saw the enemy. They then saw Leaf ninja killing Leaf ninja, and assumed it was a traitor. The scale escalated as they couldn’t find the cause of the chaos, assuming their friends were enemy nin in disguise. They didn’t suspect one ninja had done all this.

Mitsunari walked calmly back to his camp following this, and went back to sleep. His teammates woke him a few hours later, yelling at him to stop slacking off, he’d get them all killed. He calmly told them there was no more enemy. Some laughed, other’s pulled out weapons on the young shinobi.

He turned over, and told them to go check it out. He got hit for the comment, but when they had checked it out, the Leaf camp was barren. They asked how he knew this. He told them he had done it.

They knew he was a liar, and wouldn’t believe it, until he, with great detailed, explained the Leaf camp, and the ninja who had left, and who had been killed, and the chain of command.

The Takeda clan became well known after that, one of the biggest lies of the Mist, as one man had become a clan.

After the war, he became a hero.

Personality: One of the loudest Narcissists you will ever meet.

Mitsunari has a bit of a compensation issue coming from his past(not that). He was born in a poor family and looked down upon. So he invented his own clan, and proudly proclaims it to this day. He has a strange sense of honor. Anything that makes his clan look good is honorable, and anything else is ‘meh’.

Petty, scheming, and sadly successful, Mitsunari knows very well how to get what he wants. He prefers having other people do his work for him. The one thing he hates more than anything else is actual successful clans, purely out of jealousy

He isn’t irredeemable however. He is loyal to those he considers friends, and family. He sends most of the money he makes as a shinobi to his ailing mother, and will stand by those he likes and do odd things for them (whether or not they want it).

After viewing a memory, Mitsunari is able to initially damage the memory with a large shock of electricity, then insert his Yin Chakra into an opponent's brain as they try to recover. Doing so he is able to ‘suggest’ to the brain how to repair the memory, effectively rewriting that memory. It is not a complete rewrite, and a skilled intelligence nin can find his interference and undo it. The technique fades after a month on its own.
Weakness: Don’t get caught. Requires his complete attention and focus. Also, 1000 handsigns requires about 15 minutes. His hands hurt like hell afterwards.

Weakness: Large amount of chakra is used to create this jutsu, Mitsunari can only use it 4 times a day. One must already be caught in his Takeda Style: Devil's Tongue Jutsu for it work. He can only plant one suggestion at a time.

History:

Ryuunosuke was an extremely driven and brash ninja, always wanting to be the best, and to prove himself in battle. He took whatever risk he could if it meant he could show his mettle. His dream was to become famous. His skill was quickly earning

There was one failure however that he could never let go, and forever frustrated him. A chain of missions he came to dub ‘shade’ hunting. A mysterious individual who had mastered seals. Every time Ryuunosuke took one of these missions, he felt like a fool by the end, always falling headfirst into some trap. It made him more determined to catch this shade. His frustration was never ending, and soon he turned to a source he’d never looked to before, to books and scrolls, trying to figure out how he could best the anonymous man. Soon he evaded more and more traps, and he felt like he was coming close to touching The Shade, to meeting him.

Ryuunosuke’s search was put on hold however when the First Shinobi War broke out. He was quickly realizing his dream faster than ever, earning the moniker ‘The Crimson Phoenix’ for his mastery of Cloud Style Flame Beheading with his bo-staff during the war, leaving trails of flames wherever he fought.

However, a fateful turn would occur during the war. After a fierce combat against Leaf Combatants, the cloud forces were encouraged to pursue them. Something felt wrong with it. Ryuunosuke recognized the trap just before it triggered, managing to dodge out the way. Sensing the trap had been triggered, the Uzumaki clan turned, attacking the small force.

Being the only one who could fight, Ryuunosuke turned to face them. He was badly outmatched, and it didn’t take long for them to tag him with a seal to suppress his chakra, to prevent him from casting jutsu. The leader of the group, Kotaro, approached, telling Ryuunosuke it was pointless, as the Uzumaki were the strongest seal users, and he had no way to fight back, his body would break if he tried.

Ryuunosuke welcomed the invitation. In a bid of desperation, he poured his chakra directly into the seal, releasing all the chakra he could muster at Kotaro. The attempt resulted in an explosion, most of the chakra smashed back into his body, damaging his chakra system in the process. As the smoke cleared, the rest of the group moved in, grabbing Kotaro. As they pulled his body back from the smoke, they found his head had been completely seared off.

Ryuunosuke laid panting against a tree from the effort. He stood up again defiantly against the group, knowing he was outmatched. Pouring his chakra into his staff again for his signature technique, he found nothing happening. His body wouldn’t listen. It didn’t even feel like he even HAD chakra.

Then, even as the group got their wits about them a smoke bomb sailed through the air and struck ground right between Ryuunosuke and the enemy shinobi. Ryuu would hear someone land next to him, followed by the man’s voice, “You really got yourself into one hell of a situation,” he whispered even as a fireball sailed through the smoke.

The man, who Ryuunosuke would see was masked and robed, merely raised his blade, allowing the fireball to strike it and then immediately disappear as a result. “We’re getting you out of here alive, and I do mean we the robbed man said, grasping his blade.

Ryuunosuke tried again to flood his staff with chakra, but failed to. He spat at the ground.

“I can’t use any chakra. The crimson phoenix without any flames, I’m not even a ninja right now.”

The man exhaled sharply as he heard the fool’s words, but he didn’t reply right away. Instead, he rushed forwards right into the midst of the Uzumaki, and swung his gilded blade. The first was taken entirely by surprise and it was his undoing, evidenced by the gore, which spilled from his open wound while he fell backwards.

Ryuunosuke’s ally didn’t stop however, instead he jumped onto the man’s body, pushed off of it, whipped his blade out to alter his course, and landed on someone’s head, bending down as he toppled and stabbing a kunai deep into his eye socket.

The robed figure then spun, taking out five men with his great sword in one fell swoop. Another lunged into the opening and placed his hand on the figure’s back. The seal formed, then immediately crumbled even as he swept the man’s legs from beneath him with one leg and then slammed his foot down on his head when he hit the ground.

The remaining shinobi stared at the grey and white clad man, but he wasn’t looking at them. No, he had locked eyes with Ryuunosuke, and as he did he spoke, “Not one jutsu and eight men are dead.”

Ryuunosuke couldn’t help but look in awe. Who was this guy? He felt some natural respect to him, and he didn’t know why exactly. But he was right. There was still a way.

He had his staff, and that was enough.

“Time for a phoenix to be reborn.”

He rushed headfirst into the group. Between the two, the Uzumaki clan had to fled, and not one man of his station had been killed.

Ryuunosuke did pay a price for pushing the seal however. His ninjutsu never came back to him. However, he felt indebted to the man who had saved him, and as long as there was a way, he decided to keep pressing forward.

Without his ninjutsu, he had to learn discretion, he had to learn how to fight intelligently, and began studying even more ardently. He persevered the war, fighting through many important battles as handicapped as he was.

As soon as the war ended, Ryuunosuke disappeared. He was declared missing in action due to respect for his actions rather than rogue.

Ryuunosuke determined he was going to overcome his handicap if he was to be a proper ninja. He travelled and trained for 4 years. He never neglected his studies, and began to notice all the little things of nature, and of small towns. He observed how he and the animals around him moved.

One particular thing eventually inspired him, watching a dragonfly hunt, how it stayed in a point of vision. He grew more intelligent and strong, becoming much stronger than before he lost his jutsu.

As quickly as he had vanished, he reappeared in the Cloud. To his surprise, Genmyou had become the Raikage. To his relief, he gave him a pardon. And so Ryuunosuke resumed his life as a ninja. He was well noted for his observant mind, and eventually became an advisor to the Raikage.

Personality:

Ryuunosuke acts brash and forward, though it belies his methodical nature. He’s, over years, learned to slow down much more than in his younger days. He believes strongly in the saying “Haste makes waste”

Akira cursed as the shock went through him. He didn't know Himawari beforehand, but he sure did now. The shocks became stronger as a sudden desire to kill his teammate rose.

Akira gritted his teeth, looking as he could see the sparks, growing stronger.

Akira reached for his bag, and jumped in the air where the electricity wouldn't spark anymore. Throwing a shuriken at the air, Akira started handsigns, and threw a wired shuriken at the ceiling. Space warped around it, not giving a straight line for the elecrity.

Akira still buzzed in the air occasionally however.

Akira snarled, looking down at Himawari, swinging embarrassingly infront of the whole clasroom.

"Tch, if you want to play so badly, we'll do it AFTER the mission. It's on. Meanwhile, I'm a ninja, and people actually expect things of me, and you probably forgot we have a mission to do, pleeb."

Akira still wanted to strangle the life out of Himawari, especially for making him play the fool infront of the class.

History: Akira was born to the Hikaru clan, a fairly unknown clan in the Hidden Cloud. At a young age, he unlocked the rare light release in his clan. He was hailed as a genius by his family. At first, he didn’t understand what made him any different from anyone else, but after years of praise, he’s come to believe it himself.

In the academy, he passed with flying colors, looking down at others for their grades, not even bothering to talk to those who failed the class. He made many enemies. Two years ago, a fight broke out between him, and several of the flunks. Akira figured it wouldn’t take long to set them in their place, but was surprised to be beat to a pulp.

Akira swore vengeance on that bunch, even after his teacher had disciplined them. He decided he would not only would he beat them, he would do it with something only a true genius could use. He turned to the rarest form of jutsu he could find, time/space jutsu, and worked hard to learn it.

In the end, he succeeded, learning time/space jutsu, and he challenged the group of failures again. His fight was broken up by the Sensei, but only after he had managed to pull of a jutsu or two.

Personality: Akira has been raised around the teaching that he’s better than everyone, and he truly believes it. He believes himself to be a genius of a high caliber, and that he has a reputation to live up to. He goes out his way to do the difficult, and hide his failures. He hates his own failure, and gets mad at himself easily. He’s not exactly the most people friendly person.
