Agh, this is what happens when I go to work for an evening... Should've posted early and often.
Well. This certainly exploded while I was at work. Looks like we have almost enough for two teams, so the OOC will be up before the night's out.

As for your characters, keep in mind that your weapons should be counted as a strength if they're significantly stronger or more versatile than average. For example, I would have Weiss count her rapier as a strength due to its flexibility, while Jaune would count his plain sword and shield as a weakness.

And when it comes to team names, I wouldn't count on arranging one this early. Your characters will be facing the same trial in the forest to determine your teams, and it may shake things up.
So far you're #4, Spoo. I'll be leaving this open until later tonight to see if we get enough interest for a second team, then opening OOC.
Accepted, Shadow.

Teams of four teenaged warriors battling against the monstrous enemies of humanity with crazy custom weapons and superpowers? Sounds ripe for an RP.

This RP will be based on the RWBY webseries, but will be taking place in an alternate universe.

You are a new student at Beacon Academy, the finest institution for training Huntsmen and Huntresses, warriors that protect humanity from the monstrous creatures of Grimm. You will be assigned into a team of four to live, learn, and fight alongside each other.

Character Sheet:

Name: Anything goes here, but the series creator has somesuggestions.
Race: Most students are either human or Faunus, humans with some animalistic traits.
Age: Most students enter Beacon at 17, though you may be a little ahead of or behind the curve.
Gender: Fairly simple.
Bio: A little about your character's personality and past.
Weapon: Students craft their own weapons, most of which have multiple forms and powers of their own.
Semblance: Your unique ability, tied to you rather than your weapon.
Strength/Weakness: Choose up to two strong categories and an equal number of weaknesses from those below.

Weapon: Your weapon may be even stronger than most, or it may come off as a little lame.
Skill: Your general combat ability. You can make up a weakness here with your strengths.
Aura: Your Aura acts as a protective field around you. A strong Aura means you can take more hits than usual.
Semblance: Using your Semblance takes energy in proportion to its power. This trait will give you more or less impact for that energy.
Knowledge: Knowing your enemy and forming a battle plan can be crucial to your survival.
Social: Working with people is crucial both on and off the battlefield.
Yesss. Think I'll wait for others to get in before I monopolize the IC.
And I just couldn't wait. Here's a second:

Human Name: Lisa Costello
Age: 22
Human Appearance: Tall and athletic, with short strawberry-blonde hair, warm brown eyes and a healthy tan. Dresses casually, in practical clothes with a military flair.
Bio: Lisa has always been the type to draw attention just by the zeal with which she challenges every new day. She was raised on Long Beach, California, and spent most of her childhood skateboarding, swimming, surfing, or otherwise adventuring along the boardwalks. As she grew older, she became a notable figure in the world of extreme sports, landing tricks and winning competitions with practiced ease. She's often felt that she has what it takes to rise further than anyone has before her, and the quest for the power of the gods looks to her like exactly the challenge she needs.

God or Goddess: Goddess of Dawn and Victory
God Name: Victoria Invicta
God Appearance: A tall and striking woman, clad in the light bronze armor of a scout. Golden hair flows from beneath her helmet, and her eyes match its shine. She is never seen without her blade, and her panoply gleams like new no matter how much use it is put to.

Symbols: A sword raised toward a rising sun
Alignment: Neutral Good
Weapon: Longsword
Animal: Phoenix
Followers: Athletes, warriors, defense lawyers
And that's my cue! I'm way into SAO II, and would love a chance to play it.
I'm not too sure about the gods and this world's history, so I rolled with it as best I could. Astrid is ready to go over in IC!
I'm finally here...

A teenaged girl looked over the many tents of the great festival and sank to her knees, feeling a rush of emotion. Fear ad anticipation mixed with immense relief that she had come this far.

Now what do I do?

Getting to the festival had not been easy for Astrid Alisse. After living in the same place her entire life, it was nearly impossible to believe that she had spent her entire life savings to fly halfway across the world in order to chase after something so unbelievable as a quest for the powers of the gods. If she hadn't been so adamant about saving for herself, it truly would have been impossible.

And my goddess is one that I can't even be sure ever existed... But I suppose that's what faith means.

Astrid had to put more faith in her deity of choice than most. Ailina, Lady of Starlight, was someone who had visited her dreams for a long time. She had been a comfort to Astrid in her times of need, providing her with the hope that tomorrow would be better... until she vanished with the rest. What worried Astrid was that she had searched far and wide for records of Ailina and her worshipers, but found next to nothing.

I can't help but feel envy for those people that seek the power of the better-known gods. Even if they have to compete with more aspirants, they at least know they're striving toward a power that definitely exists.

Astrid Alisse, the penniless orphan, the champion of hope, rose to her feet and set forth into the sea of tents.
