@Leidenschaft

I wouldn't mind learning some more about it, since my character is a Breton. I have to admit I have a rather large lack of background knowledge on most things in TES.
@Greenie

If it makes sense for your character to have less then go for it. That's what @Dervish told me anyway in a PM. So I don't imagine there is a minimum.
Thank you for the clarifications, I'll edit my CS accordingly.
EDIT: Finalized version until further critique.

If it can't be deleted somehow, it could just be reserved for @Peaceless's next post.
Could I get a crash course on Magic usage from anyone? I've been working on my character concept and as I got to my spells list, I realized I'm not entirely sure how it would all work out.

  • First and foremost, is there some kind of Magicka we need to keep track of, or do we just base it on how many spells we think they can cast in quick succession without being tired?
  • I've picked from spells that come from the games, but how do those convert themselves into this RP? Do the durations stay the same, or are we allowed to fiddle with how long spells can last?
  • Can we have a Concentration spell (like in D&D if you know it), which means it is up as long as you can maintain it (usually has a longer duration), but can only have one Concentration spell running at any one time, so should you wish to end the effect or your concentration gets interrupted, you lose hold of the spell.
  • Are we able to cast with both hands to make more powerful versions of the spell? If that is need to be learned, can we learn it?
  • How many spells can we choose to know if we're Highly Proficient in a school? On Brynja's CS I see seven. How many if we're Somewhat Proficient?
  • Can we cast "Self" targeted spells on others?
  • Can I get a cookie?

Alright, thank you for the clarification, I was just looking at the three example ones and felt like either something was off or I was missing something.

PS: Any chance you could double the lashes?
Favored Skills: This section gets a bit more complicated. Using the main skills of the game (two handed, smithing, destruction, illusion, lock picking, pick pocketing, shield, et cetera) things are rated by proficiency. You may have 1 highly proficient skill, 3 moderately proficient skills, and 3 somewhat proficient skills. You may, however, move up a class at the expense of another skill of the level below it (e.g. you pick 1 highly proficient at the cost of 2 moderately proficient). Likewise, you can gain more skills if you downgrade a skill (1 moderately proficient becomes two somewhat proficient, for example). Explain why your character is good at each skill in a brief sentence.

I have a couple of questions. If I understood right, we have access to:

    1 Highly Proficient Skill [HPS] (Can be downgraded to 2 MPS)
    3 Moderately Proficient Skills [MPS] (Can be downgraded to 2 SPS, or can be upgraded to 1 HPS at the cost of 2 MPS)
    3 Somewhat Proficient Skills [SPS] (Can be upgraded to 1 MPS at the cost of 2)

If my math is right, that means the "highest setting" we can have is: 2 HPS, 2 MPS, and 1 SPS; and the "lowest setting" is: 1 MPS, and 11 SPS.

If that is true, can I ask why Vasora has 2 HPS, and 3 MPS? To get that kind of conversion, she would need to start out with 1 HPS, 3 MPS, and 4 SPS. Now, I'm not trying to nitpick here (and this probably doesn't help my chances of being picked into the first batch :P), I just want to know what the reasoning is behind it. Does she start out with 1 more SPS because she's of a "higher level", or for the story's sake? Or is that just a miscalculation?
I'm interested as well.
@Peaceless
From what I understood, you don't have to constantly roll for things, just maybe once per post to give it a random element to it, something that is out of our control. And even then, we'd only have to roll where we think it counts the most, so if you wish to shoot cans and demonstrate your skill with the firearm, you are welcome to write it as you see fit, but if there's a tense situation where you are almost caught or some other major event, then you'd have to roll for it and go with the outcome.

Depending on the roll, you can continue on as intended, or write around it, like due to some circumstance, your aim was off and you hit a shoulder instead of where you've been aiming. Or the gun misfires completely. I'd wait for @Arkitekt to confirm this though.
