Well I have amphibioua infriantry and track mobile support so...

I can furfil some infriantry roles with mechanised marines style force.

I'll meet you at the top of the mountain on the other side of the jungle then.
As well I'm also partial to an Air Division but they don't seem as versatile as a Mechanized Division does.

I see them more as a modern version of the light skirmish cavalry. They outmaneuver and outflank their opponents, helping to harrass supply lines and disrupting battle plans more than actively engaging an enemy. Useful for both small scale operations, where they can perform hit and run attacks on enemies guerilla style, as well as larger operations where they scout out positions and help force the enemy to keep their forces isolated.

Preferably I'd drop the armour altogether, replacing it with heavy air support or artillery, but given the current options that doesn't seem to be something I can do within the confines of the rules as stated.

I'm interested though I don't have resources for 5e. I've played Pathfinder some but that's all.

I can help you with that. I've DM'd several campaigns both online and off so have a decent understanding of he rules and system.
@Champion How's this?

EDIT: Moved to Characters thread.

I took some liberties with her abilities, since both Darkvision and Shadowmeld would be physiological traits of the Night Elf race, rather than being activated 'spells'.

Her Shadowmeld would generally just be an ethereal mist surrounding Arwyn, she'd have to concentrate to make it solidify around her and so I counted it as a stamina skill, rather than a mana spell. With her Darkvision, I tried to give it an obvious setback, since it would also be something which would be constantly activated but which she could concentrate using her stamina to help to overcome.

As a comparison, here's the difference between 'Human sight' and Darkvision.
Griffin will start with conventional ballistics and Kevlar, being a ragtag bunch of misfits. You may have them all as a squad too. Looted alien tech will be a possibility. Reverse engineering for upgrades can happen.

Would Cyclops's scanner tech be appropriate as starting level equipment, given that it was built by her parents using reverse engineered tech over the last decade?

Bombshell would like to get her hands on strength enhancing gauntlets and body armour which would help her in CQC. She prefers to keep thing unarmed for maximum stealth, and having the ability to rip an alien's head off with her bare hands would certainly be useful. Having said that, she isn't opposed to carrying a sword or other 'quiet' weapons, just as long as it can overcome enemy armour easily.

Molotov is going to be on the look out for any alien weaponry she can acquire, especially anything which could be adapted into a handy pistol-sized design. She prefers one-shot, one-kill tactics and usually goes for headshots at medium to close range.

Altogether the "Red Furies" work well as a light recon squad, able to move quickly behind enemy lines to scout out positions and paint targets for other, more heavily equipped personnel to engage. They're not too good in a stand up battle, but can easily melt away when things get dicey, keeping themselves out of harms way while the regulars bring the pain.
Name~ Dasha โ€˜Cuervoโ€™ Newton
Personality~ ... She wants what she wants, and if someone gets in the way, she moves them, as nonviolently as possible.

Dasha: "Hey Whiplash, this person's in my way..."
*BOOM*
Dasha: "Thanks."

Call Sign~ Cuervo (Given to her after a particularly interesting night in the barracks. She doesnโ€™t like to talk about it.)

Thought process translation engaged...
Cuervo = Tequila, which is badly pronounced 'to kill a' = To kill a mockingbird = Dasha is now called Mockingbird by Whiplash.

There exists an economy within the farm of buying, selling, and trading snacks and other goods as well.

MJ certainly enjoys all the extra snacks she ends up with.
@Genni That's actually exactly why there's an Air Cavalry Doctrine

It's more the use of the light infantry recon units I'm questioning, whether having a mobile scout division would work better than having standard infantry mounted on helicopters.

Also, would an Air Cavalry division be able to airlift its medium tanks and howitzers into position, or would they have to travel over land to rendezvouz with their compatriots? Or would this be covered by the serperate Airborne Logistics doctrine?

Would the support units also be helicopter mounted, or would they also need the Air Cavalry to take the Airborne Logistics doctrine as well?
@Champion I'd be interested in joining the adventure playing as a 'Night Elf' archer with the ability to summon arrows magically by channelling mana through her enchanted bow. She's also have powers which would provide stealth advantages and superior movement skills, I picture these being spells which would allow her to camouflage with the environment and either teleportation or rapid movement.

Would this be a concept which would suit the setting, and if it is would you give any advice on the best way to write up a CS for her?
Since you asked for multiple characters, here's three possibilities for you to consider.

EDIT: Moved to Characters thread.

I wasn't sure what sort of technology the Griffins would have access to, so I've tried to keep their equipment vague and generalised wherever possible. Please let me know whether anything needs to be changed to suit the setting.
