@hoppiholla391 Kind of split on that. I might keep villains reserved for NPC's to be dealt with, but if a lot of people show interest in playing villains, I'll let some try it out. And if it's all smooth and copacetic, than it'll be free reign on what you want to be.
Everybody loves superpowers. So, let’s have a go at another superhero role play. What’s going to be so special about this one? The origin of the powers! Have you ever seen the show Misfits? Read the online serial Worm? Both of them have a common source for powers.

In Misfits, a freak storm infects part of the population of a British block with superpowers. Simple.

In Worm, it’s a tad more complicated. People gain powers from “Trigger Events”. Almost as it says on the tin. Somebody goes through a traumatic event, whether it be a physical trauma or psychological, it flips a switch inside of them and their power manifests. Physical trauma creates more physical based powers, and psychological trauma creates more abstract powers. The powers sometimes come with drawbacks, often have limits, more often come with secondary powers that help streamline powers. For example, a girl who controls bugs has super-human multitasking abilities to keep track of what the bugs are doing, and to keep herself from overloading her mind. A guy might have super speed, but the faster he goes the less he can interact with the world around him, it will practically remove drag and air resistance but he can’t deliver a punch while moving mach 3. One limit that is always present is the Manton Effect, a limit on each superhero. Where one couldn’t use their powers on an immediate person, depending on the power. For example, a pyrokinetic couldn’t boil somebody from the inside, but they could light a jacket on fire. A telekinetic couldn’t rip somebody’s heart out, but they could toss them aside.

I’m proposing something in the middle ground. In a world where people gain powers through Trigger Events, with all the fun flavor that creates a dynamic, balanced power. And a freak storm caused a huge amount of people to gain powers at once. If there’s enough interest, I’ll toss together a proper role play thread.
I'd be pretty interested. I love me some Fallout.
@Ellri In regards to Stargate, I do like the concept. However it is on my list of "Things I Should Watch". It's a large, expansive list of things from any and all genres.
How's it going, everybody? I'm not new to roleplaying, but I am brand new to the forum. I've been looking for a good community to get involved in, look for new people to roleplay with, and make some good reads. I primarily roleplay under the definitions of Casual and Advanced. Both of which are tons of fun.

In regards to what I like, that would take a while to list in full. Though some highlights:

I love D&D. God damn do I love me some dungeon crawling, some tavern brawling, and some loot hauling. Want to talk D&D? I'm your guy. I'll talk D&D for actual, literal days. Interpreting characters as classes and races, creating monsters, drawing up dungeons. I can't get enough.
What also follows suite, I love me some Elderscrolls. I've dumped more than my fair share into Oblivion and Skyrim, and I'm still trying to crack into the intimidating beast that is Morrowind. I'm not 100% on all the lore, but I do like to explore it. I do like to delve into the wonderfully flavorful world of Elderscrolls. Fantasy in general, really. Dark Souls for sure. Lord of the Rings. However, my favourite flavor of fantasy, however, is Homebrew.

Sci-Fi is always a favourite of mine. From stuff such as Shadowrun, to Mass Effect, to Starwars, I got a place in my heart for sci-fi. Not as big as a spot as Fantasy, mind you. But there definitely is room.

Superheros. God damn to I love me some fucking superheros and super powers. Want talk supers? I'm down. Although, I can't find myself liking cape shit too much. I just can't get into it. But I like making up some street level supers. Again, following suite, I like me some fucking JOJO. Stands for DAYS. And Persona! Which is "Slice-of-life JOJO", in my humble opinion.

Beyond that, my tastes are eclectic and unpredictable. From cartoons, to movies, to music, it's hard to tell what I am and am not going to like. Best way to find out is to ask, really!

And that's about it! Send me a message, say hi, through some pitch some roleplay ideas. I'd be happy to even help you brainstorm!

Here's to good times, good laughs, and good reads!
