The black of the armour he once knew coated now with brightness, a guiding light of the emporer and this new chapter, although not used to it Loch took to the new colours well hopefully it would attract more prey for him to dismember.

At this point he was heading into the war-room, his helmet clipped onto his belt as he prefered to look his leaders in the eye when spoken to. "Brothers... Our day has finally come. We have been called to war!" The new chapter master bellowed as all senior officers appeared for breifing.

Loch listened intently to the information provided and analyzing these wild beasts that was the initial problem. An awful name Loch thought giving a look of distaste to it. Eitherway this was the chapters first task, nothing compaired to the crusades in their former chapter none the less Loch understood the importance of securing a planet, maybe even the chance of a homebase so to speak. Loch soon wondered how the other members were feeling about this mission as he looked around at each of them before replying to Tormans question.

"Are your divisions ready?"
"Yes my lord, my brothers and I are ready for battle. May our first victory be swift like the emporers hammer smiting all that would oppose him, for we are his chosen" Loch announced as he stood to attention. Others around him issued their readyness from captains to forge master some more forward than others.

It seemed the Lord Commander was being tested by some of his peers. Why not, he was younger than some maybe even less capable, it mattered not to Loch. He wasn't fussed for such politics not now. Loch remained silent waiting for the brief to continue. As the Lord Commander explained about the battlefield, great, underground Loch thought. Not his favoured place, easy ambush and chance of tunnel collapse a tactical disadvantage all round. This was then backed up by heavy weaponry being the main feature to pierce its skin. Loch prefered charging the enemy however he understood when it to be a good and bad idea.

“We arrive in three days. All tactical data will be made available. Captains, we will speak again after you have reviewed this data, I want to hear your own tactical appraisals of this situation in twenty four hours. Until then you are all dismissed.”

Loch once again stood to attention saluting the Lord Commander and headed to the exit towards his quarters for meditation and assessment of the comming battle.

A long awakening...

A long dark came as the liquid engulfed Viktor head to toe, was it seconds, minutes or centuries he did not knowor remember.
Dreams passed by, none in full vision more waves of light and colours in an endless sea drowning in your own imagination, was this the end? Viktor felt in his subconcious movements, was it flying or falling either way it was not an accustomed feeling for a man so tall and large. For him however this would not be his eternal rest, bigger things at hand had plans for him.

Soon enough his thoughts got louder and more vivid, he felt wet, almost fully saturated as if he was a vessel for carrying water. That feeling soon came to an abrupt end like the falling tide it started to drop from his face to his feet. As soon as his mouth was clear Viktor gasped like it was his last breathe but in a turn of strange events his first. His body started to function again. They were sore however as if he has been beaten up or had been carrying an inordinate amount on his back. He lurched forward out of his chair hitting the front panel still gasping for air grabbing his throat. The impact must have caused something as a strange beeping echoed in the pod.

Oh please not again The last thing Viktor heard was that infernal noise subjecting him to nothingness.

Luckily this time it meant the front panel opening once again, this was still while Viktor was bracing against it, causing him to fall out of the pod. Viktor instinctively braced himself *bang* his hands hit the ground but not onto grass or sand it had that cold feeling of metal.
What in the name of? Viktor gazed at the floor expecting the same environment he met this pod however it was replaced with a dark metalic area. Metal grates followed by other eggs, no cooling breeze from the forest he once was at, no moon to comfort him in the darkness.

Viktor now fully concious stood up and was immediately confronted by 3 characters a little startled in a quick splutter, Are you here to kill me? Who are you? Where am I? as these questions came in quick successions.
Im not going down without a fight Viktors mind raced with indecision and rashness, his circumstances hadnt been fortunate since meeting this egg. He clenched his hands into fists only ready for self defence, what he needed was answers for his questions, would he get what he wants...
I'm alive!!!

Good evening all, its good to see this is still going on.

@Genkai Congrats on the job offer! Stickers I've found to be pretty good on a chart then one afternoon the good ones get time off (the trick is everyone gets time off) this only works with youngsters though. Luckily for a time I was also the PE teacher so I could sneak my class out for games.

If it helps the story I can try and mock up a post for anreaction etc... seeing as I'm still dead to the world.

Lovely to work with you all once again
@Genkai

Thanks for the info, sorry about your interview. I always find talking to a screen a lot harder.
You will get there I have every faith!
Umm I dont mind, I know we have two engineers aboard really. However if you want to play the age card with characters being a bit nervous I guess Viktor could help step up. Problem is I'm not around as of tomorrow till the 27th though :(
@Ollumhammersong Im excited

On another note I'm away from the 19th to the 27th and will be unable post during that time

On the road again...

The sun is starting to fade on yet another glorious day in the life of Viktor, him and his company have been walking through the Jasmine woods, you can guess why its named that. The aroma is calming as you venture through, while the suns gaze pierces through the canopy warming the travellers. It irradiates a light that bounces off the white flowers complementing the aroma. Viktor has been heading further inland to his next city named Whelsheer, it is a city surrounded in dense forest which is said to drown out noise so well you may even miss the city itself.

As dusk comes by the group finds an outcropping just off the dirt road a small opening which has clearly been used before for overnight stay. The shrubs have been cleared away and a circle have rocks left in the centre as a make shift fire pit, ashes remain from a few days ago.

"We camp here tonight. Viktor, you and Asmund start a fire. For the rest of you set up close to caravan"

Bellowed the leader as he halted the horses that were pulling the caravan. Viktor gives a nod without looking and grabs an axe out of the back of the caravan. Within a few minutes a fire is started the group have gathered around, food is being prepared ready for a small feast and soothing guitar is being played as well. Viktor has set up a hammock between two trees, close enough to gain the warmth and light from the fire, he lays there hands cradling his head slowly swinging whilst humming to the tune the guitar is playing. He gazes up to few glimpses of the night sky between the branches as his mind wonders to the smell of the food now being cooked on top of the fire. 'Mmm, pork with a honey glaze'

The night fully descends, ambient blue light of the full moon covers the forest giving everything a crisp look about it. The group now sleeping as the fire crackles being only sound that emits in the area, enough logs to tide it over till the morning. Viktor this night has been struggling to sleep within his hammock, still gazing up to the sky. Even through the small openings its a clear sky tonight, suddenly a flash of bright yellow streaks through the sky the trail even lights up through the branches. Viktor sits up with urgency the streak lands in the distance, strangely no noise. Viktor’s interest gets the better of him as he hopes out of his hammock, a split second after he should have he tried to lessen his landing flexing down with his hands out. Luckily everyone had there fill of food and ale this night as there was no movement in the camp.

Viktor packs up a small leather bag and picks up his warhammer leaning on one of the trees which he tied his hammock on to and makes his way into the forest, still following the remnants of the trail in the sky. As he makes his way through the forest the grass begins to get taller and taller. The grass is now up to Viktor’s neck along with reeds and the stench of stagnant water, soon enough he comes to a clearing as he feels sand under his boots. A large lake emerges with an unnatural light on the opposite side. Viktor with haste moves around the lake towards this light, as he gets up close the light is surrounded by an egg shaped metal box. The light bouncing off the cold metal surface Viktor then notices its floating.

"What in the hell?"

He stands there perplexed for a moment and the tries to push the metal box over, even with his strength the box merely leans over slightly but nothing more. As he tries to put all his weight into toppling it over a loud hiss occurs and the front plate slides open. Viktor immediately lets go with his hands in the air as if he expected some backlash of his efforts. Nothing came of it. He slowly peeks into the interior seeing many lights and various buttons with a single seat stationed in the middle. As Viktor climbs in he kneels on the seat to inspect the back plate before turning and lumping himself into the seat. The motion of his drop is suspended by whatever holds the box up, as he lays his warhammer between his feet he removes his bag from his back onto his lap searching through for a chisel of some sort to see whether he could take a sample of it and return to the group. As he searched another loud hiss as now the front plate seals shut. Viktor has no idea what to do until a monotone beeping happens and a blue liquid starts to envelope his legs. He tries to get up but as soon as the liquid touches a part of him its as if he has no use of it. He tries to squirm, moving frantically as the level raises now to his chest and arms which become motionless.

'This is bad, really bad!'

Viktor was in dire trouble he thought, before he could think of anything else he took a deep breathe as the liquid now covered his neck and head. For a moment he felt calm like he was in his hammock and then nothing...

@Genkai Just an update and a question I'll be travelling from the 19th to the 27th with limited access so will be unavailable during that time

With regards to the first post should I do the before and leave the after?
Character Creation Sheet:

Name:
Captain Loch

Age:
312 Years

Appearance: Minus the Jump Pack (I love this model!)

Desired position:
Captain

Equipment:
MK. VI Corvus Helmet
MK. VII Aquila Armour Set
Power Axe
Storm Shield
Bolt Pistol
Locator Beacon
Melta bombs

Skills/Abilities:
Surveyor: Thoughtout Lochs time as an Astartes he has an innate ability to take in his enemy, environment and situation, plan accordingly even guess his opponents next move. This allows for counters, crucial reinforcements where needed to be successful. If the battle hasnt started it adds to his tactics of how he wants the enemy to react to his own deployment.

Deep Strike: Lochs own favoured choice is the drop pod to enter the frey. Look how the battle is unfolding and decide his best placement to bolster to troops morale and will to fight.

Close Combat: As a battle brother Loch enjoyed looking into the eyes of his enemy before purging them off the face of the planet for the emperor. He is swift and agile with his attacks, larger weapons was never his forte. He is adept with the use of multiple weapons but his preferred loadout is Power Axe and Storm Shield.

Personal History:
Loch grew up on the hive world Kiavhar, well grew up is to put it lightly he survived his time there. He wasn’t brought up in any fancy houses of the hive, never saw the riches, he was a street rat. With all street rats you live or die, Loch was very good at living and causing trouble whilst he did. Offering his services to various gangs he was astute at sneaking and thievery. One job arose which lead him to a near assassination of an Adeptus arbite officer however he was caught before he could sink his blade. He was summoned to high court to be judged, seeing the natural talents of the boy the judge sent him to the Raven Guard stating "Death is your sentence, whether it by gene-seed, training or in battle. Justice will be served"

Loch couldn't believe his fortune no torture or kill squad, his naivety was soon realised being transferred to the Raven Guard. Many of the men he saw on that transport he never saw again, it is known that the gene-seed and genetic modification is a harsh one which few surpass, Loch was fortunate again. With this fortune he did not turn his back on it and applied himself to his new life. His drive was never to give the satisfaction of his death to the judge for as long as possible. With Lochs age he probably surpassed him anyway. During Lochs time in the Raven Guard he was noted for his quick thinking, close quarters fighting and leadership.

Loch saw action during the Battle of Parocheus against the vicious Dark Eldar. At that time he was a tactical squad sergeant. One of many that was tasked to enter the tunnels towards the xenos base, his men clouded by uncertainty as well as Loch himself. These tunnels didnt seem right, like an illusion to mask the bigger picture, something was lurking. Loch threw up his hand to halt his men as they did Loch went to touch the sidewall of the tunnel and it was almost as if a dark mist surrounded it. Being in the mountain and with something larger afoot the comms were out of action, they decided to proceed further until a large quake surrounded them. Loch ordered a tactical retreat with fear of the earthquake covering the opening, other squads had the same idea, some were not so lucky.

That moment the Raven Guard knew there enemy, dark eldar. Ships in the sky and abominations pouring out of the mines. "Form up! May the hand of the emporer be on your shoulder on this day for you will not falter, we never falter!" Lochs willing words heard by his squad and brother around him, as resounding cheer before bolter fire lay down at the coming onslaught. Luck had been on Lochs side once again, even though the battle was over it was not won. Many brothers dragged away but it was not time to counter they were to few. At the return Loch commanded multiple squads during the entry of the mountain as he had been there, taking the fight into the heart of the mountain. Their brothers recovered, it still left a bitterness in Lochs mouth unable to wreak havoc upon whoever commanded this master plan. Loch from then on worked his way up the ranks until this day when he bid farewell to the Raven Guard.

Now has come the time for Loch to start anew, he was approached to join this new chapter with his knowledge and skills. Knowing of the Chapter Master or Lord Commander as he put it he answered the call willingly, adorning a new sigil and colours. He took a knee knowing he could help mould this new chapter and make it renowned amongst all others.
