He is like that one friend that says they are up to hang out, goes through the effort of making plans and confirming with everyone in your friend group. And then when the day comes he flakes as his life depends on it.
History/Bio:
Hal was born to a small fishing village in northern Fiore, it was quite an average place, to be honest. Hal was far from an ordinary person and always was bored with the village he was born in. He was a perfect student in school, always getting perfect scores on his assignments, and he was always seen as a pillar of the community, Hell some might even consider Hal a supergenius. The truth however was that the small village he was born in was no ordinary town. A secret circle of mages had been attempting to test the limits of illusion magic, and turn illusion into reality.
Hal was living unaware of this secret circle of mages and was still bored as ever because life had not presented him any challenges so far. That all changed when he was 15, you see the normal initiation age into this circle of mages was 18, but since Hal was a bit of a special case he was inducted at the age of 15. They wanted to see if his genius for academia would transfer to his genius in magic. It did, and he quickly rose up to their ranks, and with his knack for illusion, magic was able to push illusion magic to its extreme. After he had completed his five years of training in the study of illusion magic, he would go out of the nest and leave home for the first time.
His insatiable thirst for a challenge would not be quenched for several years, and he began to find and challenge high-level mages to duels. At first, he would lose badly due to his lack of experience in actual combat situations. With time and several hard beatings, he would start to improve his fighting ability. He would encounter several types of mage and build up his arsenal in both spells and strategies to counter the types of magic he was facing against. Soon after a couple of years, rumors would begin to surface of a pale mage with the ability to trick reality itself into falling for his illusions.
His use of his spells would require new eyes due to him going blind from misusing his abilities. He was no murderer so he became a grave-robber to sustain his habit of challenging high-level mages to duels. But one day he was caught approaching a grave-yard and this tied to the fact that the bodies of the mages had been missing eyes got him sent to jail. Master Briala had heard the rumors, but just realized he didn’t meet any harm, and it was just the only way he could use his power without going blind. She invited him to join her guild in return for her convincing the local law enforcement to set him free.
When he joined Lunar Raven, he was quite the outcast to his antisocial behavior. He often would just stay in his room, taking the mission when he had to. But despite his ability with people, his magical prowess could not be denied and he was able to quickly rise through the ranks and become an S tier mage. He had earned the nickname of "The Pale Jester", because of his unorthodox fighting tactics.
