Should I make one of those blorb like games

I just started trying to learn pixel art. I'm pretty bad at it, but I want to learn it while doing something, so I might make one of those command adventure games. Unless that is considered a ripoff of blorbs. If it's not I want to start one. Is it a good idea?

My first pixel art attempt

I'm aware it's bad and there isn't much in it. I just started learning pixel art a few days ago. Can you tell me what to work on if you know alot about this stuff. I dont know why its a winter scene either. I like the 6 bit art. Any higher then that and the pixels get confusing.
