Ah, accepted~

Also, copy pasted the opening interest post to the OOC thread here
This is the longstanding kingdom of Aaester, the strongest superpower to currently exist in the land of Daerai. It was only thanks to the first emperor, Oroboronuko, that Aaester became the strongest military power, lasting for thousands upon thousands of years thanks to his mighty deeds. At its founding, Aaester had nearly limitless recourse, and held some of the best minds that the world could ever dream of producing, with Lord Oroboronuko having absolute authority and ruling with a just and noble hand.

However, with time comes change. Generations after Oroboronuko's death, a young boy was designated as emperor of Aaester after the death of his father... but due to his young age and lack of experience, an elected noble was appointed his adviser. It would be this adviser, who is now known as the Prime Minister, who corrupted the government and is now using the young emperor as nothing more than a political doll to satisfy his selfish desires. With the government being manipulated and corrupted by an unworthy man, the innocent were struck with poverty and many of the rich began to prey upon the weak with the kingdom's laws slowly fading. Despite the chaos and unruly laws, Aaester itself is a rather enormous country. Its capital having multiple and nearly countless districts that are separated by large canals that many merchant ships run through daily with both slaves and goods.

At the very outermost regions of Aaester are where farmers, villagers, and most of the country folk can be found... though, their lives are slowly being influenced by the ever increasing corruption that is occurring at the very core of Aaester and its capital. It would seem that fate has decided that all the lands of Daerai will fall under a corrupt ruler...
...although, perhaps fate isn't as merciless as we had all thought?

Before the great and kind Lord Oroboronuko passed away, he feared that one day the kingdom of Aaester would either fall, or become corrupt... and thus, in order to preserve the kingdom that was a symbol of peace and hope, he created special items with his brightest men that were made out of the most famous and dangerous of materials in order to counter this; weapons capable of performing impossible feats. These great weapons were labeled “Tengu”. These weapons are incredibly powerful, and have changed the tides of war for the kingdom of Aaester many times over throughout history... unfortunately, over half of them were lost, while many more were claimed by the now corrupt kingdom of Aaester.

With a Tengu, one would be more than capable of defeating an army... robbing a city in a single night, plundering hundreds... defending the people against horde after horde of creatures... anything your heart desires may be possible with the power of a Tengu.

Though... the question is... what would you do with the power of a Tengu? Would you defend the people in order to become a hero, even if it meant fighting against the armies of Aaester? Would you strive to serve the Aaester and rule over the weak like a tyrant? Perhaps you're aiming to become the next Emperor and make the kingdom of Aaester all yours? What exactly would you do with such outstanding powers...?

How will your actions shape the future of Aaester, and all of Daerai?

Okay, so this is perhaps the longest wall of text that I've written in my entire life X_X

This is a RP idea (minus my Fate RP idea) I've had in mind for quite a while, and with the new Akame Ga Kill anime airing (MY FAVORITE MANGA TO ANIME ADAPTION AS OF YET!), I decided to create this because I wanted to! Anyway, hello and welcome to the Kingdom of Aaester!

This RP is a essentially a Survival/Elimination/Free-roam one, where you will be taking control of a character who comes from the land of Daerai and who wields one of the powerful tools called “Tengu”, and where almost anything can happen. There will be a central main plot to the RP, however, consider it more of an optional thing, where you don't necessarily have to pursue it but can instead do things to your own ends. Even though there is indeed a main plot, the main point of this RP is to have fun, have character development, and most importantly... to survive in Daerai with your fellow players!

However! Before we continue on, allow me to define and explain a couple of things that you may like to know before actually creating your character!

---

  • Tengu: The Tengu, the most powerful weapons to ever exist within the Lands of Daerai. Each Tengu is unique, in that they must be compatible with the user in order for them to actually work, and thus it it is impossible for a Tengu to be stolen or used by anyone besides their user; however, it is possible for two people who have the same traits and personality to use the same Tengu, and for a Tengu to be passed down from a Tengu user to another person they have to be compatible with it or risk harm to themselves. Each Tengu also only has one unique ability, though, they are capable of having one or more hidden abilities just as long as it is similar to the original ability (i.e. Original ability is manipulating liquid/water, and the hidden ability is manipulating blood. Original ability is being capable of adapting to the situation, and as a hidden ability it can turn the user invisible when stealth is needed, or create a spear/sword in order to fight better). The more powerful the abilities of a Tengu is, the more taxing it will be on the user. The type of Tengu varies, but the most common type of Tengu are Armor Types, Weaponry Types, Utility/Support Types, Biological Types, and Manipulation Types. (If you're unsure where your Tengu may fit into the five, just PM me and I'll figure it out... unless it's something completely different from the five categories, then a new category may be created. No promises though, so don't expect anything).

  • Armor Type Tengu: This type of Tengu is self explanatory; they are a defense that are capable of giving the user powerful defensive and/or offensive special abilities. These Tengu initially have the appearance of a weapon, however, once their 'name' is invoked along with a special stance, they cover the user and immediately cover them in their unique armor. Sometimes these Tengu come with a hidden weapon in order to give them offensive powers.

  • Weaponry Type Tengu: This type of Tengu is also self-explanatory; they are weapons which focus more on killing enemies and defeating them. This type of Tengu doesn't require their names to be invoked, and thus their abilities are passive... however, they look different from common weapons, and it is possible for one to figure out that they are a Tengu just by looking at it if one is bright enough.

  • Utility/Support Type Tengu: These Tengu are... different, and are a bit complex. These type of Tengu do not take the form of a weapon, but instead take the form of either an accessory or an item. Experienced users of these kind of Tengu don't require their names to be called out or invoked, but new users will need to invoke the name of the Tengu in order to utilize it. Tengu of this type are capable of indirectly assisting one to cause death, such as being able to perform precise movements of the hands, create perfect disguises for the user that is nearly impossible to see through, or heightening one's senses to resemble an animal's. These are perhaps the most versatile among Tengu in terms of usefulness.

  • Biological Type Tengu: Tengu of this type are very unique and interesting. Biological Tengu are not weapons or item... but are instead actual living beings. These living beings are usually named simple names, or named after a legendary/mythological/heroic thing or person, and in the case of the latter usually have a single ability unique to them that is similar to their legend. These Tengu have extremely high-regeneration and physical stats, almost like a powerful familiar of sorts. Nonetheless, Tengu of this caliber only have one specific hidden ability, but their physical abilities usually more than make up for this fact. The appearance of Biological Type Tengu can range from a simple puppy to a bipedal and humanoid dragon, to even a normal looking human or a normal looking human with animal-features. Once a Biological Tengu's wielder has been killed, the Tengu will immediately fall into a coma-like state, and will only awaken once another person who is compatible with them is in the immediate area. Once the Biological Tengu awakens, they will be completely under the new wielder's control, despite their personal feelings.

  • Manipulation Type Tengu: The Manipulation Type Tengu are the rarest of all the Tengus, but are also the most powerful... but as a consequence are also the most difficult to control and are thus the most taxing to use. They allow absolute control and manipulation over any one type of an element (fire, water, earth, ice, wind, air, metal, lava, wood, etc. you know what I mean). These Tengu are often the most feared, and as a consequence, only a very select few outside of the Aaester Kingdom have access to them. Most Tengu of this type takes the form of a small accessory or trinket, however... there has been cases of Tengu of this type being converted into a type of consumption material, and where the Tengu user has literally become the Tengu by ingesting the consumption material. (I’m hesitant with allowing this one right off the get go, considering how broken and overpowered these can get, I’m highly doubting that I’ll be allowing players to have control over one of these things when they first start, and instead these will be found among the military personal and will have to instead be won/earned from them.)

  • Calamity Beasts: These are very powerful creatures that inhabit the realm of Daerai, and can be found almost anywhere. These creatures can range from the simplest of animals, to the most fantasy-like and complex creatures of myth to ever exist... along with some unusual or never before seen creatures. The type of Calamity Beast is classified by a set of ranks, which are: E-Rank, D-Rank, C-Rank, B-Rank, A-Rank, S-Rank, and Omegas. The Omegas are the strongest of all Crisis Fiends, and there are only a very select few of them in each region of Daerai. Omega Class Calamity Beasts are more than capable of facing Tengu Users head on, and are more than capable of defeating a Tengu User... perhaps the reason for this is because most of the Tengu are in fact made out of Omega Class Calamity Beasts themselves.

  • The Tribes of Daerai: There are many different tribes that inhabit the lands of Daerai who are at war with Aaester. The most notable of the tribes are The Sturdy Steamers of the South, a tribe of dwarf-like humanoids who have technology that is similar to steam-punk; the Everlasting Earthmates of the East, a tribe of many mixed animal-like, yet someone humanoids who work in harmony with the land, the seas, the mountains, and the forest, but can also be found as pirates and outlaws; the Wyvern Berserkers of the West, a group of mighty warriors who excel in mounted combat along with having also access to flying mounts; and the Noble Northern Nides, who are known as the strongest living tribe that has access to a few Tengu, along with having tamed Omega Class Calamity Beasts.

  • The National Revolutionaries of Daerai (NRD): The NRD are a large resistance group that is attempting to ignite a full-fledged war against the Aaester Kingdom, and to slay the Prime Minister and liberate the people from his rule. They are currently in the midst of recruiting Tengu users, along with strengthening their numbers while stealing Tengu from the Aaester Kingdom and killing their users.

  • Steel Hearts: A branch within the NRK that resides in an unknown location near the capital of Aaester, and is composed of only Tengu users. They perform most of the NRD's assassinations and hidden business, along with working as hired mercenaries for anyone who is against the Aaester Kingdom. Out of the whole NRK, the Steel Hearts are the most feared branch, due to how successful they have been.

  • The Aaester's Military: The Military branch of the Aaester Kingdom is incredibly powerful, with their technology rivaling those of modern times, minus all the vehicles, and their numbers high in the millions. They are feared for being ruthless, merciless, and blood-thirsty in every single war that they have waged. The Military branch contains many naval and land fleets, each led by their own general... with the generals all being Tengu users.

  • The Jaegers: A hidden branch of the Aaester Military that is composed solely of the strongest of the military’s Tengu users, and are meant to hunt down and kill other Tengu users to collect and add them to their arsenal. Not much is known about this branch except that they have never failed in hunting their designated marks.

  • Slavery: Slavery plays a huge role of the Aaester Kingdom's economy, with hundreds upon hundreds of slaves from different races and nations being brought into the capital daily. It is not uncommon for one to see a merchant ship filled with slaves wearing little to no clothes in order to show all of their build in order to attract buyers. Some common uses of the slaves are as exotic pets, perverted urges, exquisite meals, and even breeding to produce money by selling their offspring.

  • Nobles: The Nobles of Aaester are... ruthless. By ruthless, I mean to the point that they can be sadistic by performing things unimaginable. Although, despite this, there are indeed a few nice ones out there who try to save slaves and help the common folk, but they don’t last long due to the Prime Minister’s watchful eye. Most of them, sadly, are either too corrupted or drunk with the power that they have been handed, and are thus slowly causing more and more complications to the people of Aaester.

I know it is a lot to read through, but trust me, you'll want to know these things. Either way, those are the main information that you'll need to know if you want to have a good idea of the kind of world that Daerai is. I’ll probably add to the list as the need arises by filling it out with more and more information as time passes.

If there is anything else that you may wish to know, then feel free to toss me any questions that you may have, and I will be more than happy to answer them!

Oh, and just throwing this out there, players are allowed a maximum of TWO characters at any given time. If you have two characters, and if you really, and I mean REALLY want another one, then you're going to have to kill off one of your current characters, or see if someone else will be willing to take over for them. Complications start to arise once a player has more than two characters, and I'd like to avoid those complications as much as possible. Sorry if that’s a bit of an inconvenience >_<

Anyway, here is the character sheet!

  • Name: What does your character go by?

  • Age: Just how long have you been surviving in Daerai?

  • Gender: Are you male, female… or something else?

  • Appearance/Description: What do you look like?

  • Personality: How does your character act?

  • Goals/Motive: What drives your character forward? What makes you continue to live on... to continue surviving in Daerai? What reasons do you have to continue fighting despite what the odds may or may not have against you?

  • Bio/History: Tell me all that you can about your history. Were you from a village that was raided by savages? Did your family get gunned down by the Aaester Kingdom right in front of you? Were you once a noble that had everything stolen from them and had to live the life of a peasant? What exactly is your story? If you’d prefer to keep it a secret, then PM it to me and reveal it in the RP!

  • Tengu:

  • Name: What is the name of your Tengu?

  • Creation: How was your specific Tengu created? What made it what it is? Was it created from an Omega class Crisis Fiend? Was it created from the lives of a thousand humans or beasts? Was it made by strong powerful magic? How exactly did the First Emperor of Aaester forge it?

  • Type: Which of the five classes does your Tengu fall under?

  • Required Compatibility: What specific traits does your Tengu require for you and future users to operate it?

  • Appearance: What does your Tengu look like?

  • Main Ability: What special unique ability does your Tengu have?

  • Hidden Ability: What is its secret technique/ability? (You can definitely keep this hidden, but you must PM me the hidden ability so I can have a record of it.

  • How did your character obtain their Tengu? Must I repeat this exact question?

  • Equipment/Assets: Besides your Tengu, what else do you have with you on your personnel? What kind of sources do you have at your disposal?

    And there we go!

If you've read through all of that and made it here, then congratulations! You're capable of surviving in Daerai! Again, this RP is more focused on survival and how you are going to work with your fellow players. Will you be working with your fellow players in order to achieve your character's goals... or will you be playing against them, trying to take them down in order to achieve more power for your character? Will you be good, or evil? Will you side with the NRD, or with the Aaester Kingdom? Or will you perhaps form your own guild with your fellow players?

    Oh… and one more thing...

    –Cue evil voice mode-

    ...this is your first warning.

Anything can and may happen in the RP, however, standard Role-playing rules still apply. If you're going to do something that you're unsure about, then you better have talked it over with me, and the players that it involves. If a player is attempting to kill another player, and both players agree to it, then it can happen. If a player is attempting to kill another player without permission, then I will do something about it. However, if the player themselves have gotten themselves into that situation, and if they knew the dangers of said situation, then I will NOT save them; we are trying to keep this remotely realistic after all. Furthermore, if you deliberately avoid interaction with others and go off and do things on your own, then I cannot promise you safety. Again, anything can happen in the world of Daerai, and working in numbers is key for survival.

(If it looks copy and pasted, that's because it probably is. I do this a lot, so GET USED TO IT! >:L)

If you break any of these rules, the general roleplaying rules, or if I receive numerous complaints about you or your character in the RP from a majority of the other players, then I will discuss them with you and try to resolve the issue. However, if you continue to do so after I've given you a warning, then do not be surprised if you're suddenly faced with consequences.

    -Voice ends-

*Ahem!* That's it for now! :D

Again, if you have any questions, suggestions, comments, or are interested in this, then please by all means feel free to throw them my way! While I maaay come off a bit harsh and serious, I’m actually really friendly! I don’t bite… much! ^_^’’
    Gwyn

I respect that, Saber, but to be truthful... I don't care much for honor, I just desire our victory, and to protect. Besides, in things such as war, there exists no 'true' concept of honor... or chivalry for that matter. There's only victors and losers. Even if you're against it, I will assist you no matter what if it means to protect your life, and to protect those around us and to keep casualties to a minimal. This is something I've decided since I was little, and will not change. I will do what I believe is right and protect everyone. So, let's do this... you can have your duels, but if I see that your life is in danger, I'll be joining the fray of things immediately.

Now... I don't quite like the idea of harming the Masters. That's something we wont be doing, Saber, no matter what. So, I'm sorry if you had some intentions to humiliate them, but we wont be doing that to them anytime soon, since I don't think I, or you for that matter, would want to be humiliated if you were in their position. Now, if they are truly, truly evil... well... Hm... I may make an exception, but don't get your hopes up too high.

Popping another sweet into his mouth, Gwyn stared into the skies before smiling. "To be completely truthful, you're interesting for someone I summoned with just my blood... makes me wonder who I actually am," he murmured aloud as he chewed on the candy. "Go on ahead and do what you'd like, Saber, I'll follow you shortly, there's just a few things I need to think about to myself."
    Triple post, sorry X_X

But, after much thinking, I've decided that I'm going to be removing Progenitor from the Servant Classes... I feel that the class itself is far too confusing, and not many people are understanding it (hell, I'm not quite sure what I was thinking when I wanted to make it).

Anyway, sorry again for the triple post, but I just wanted to make a mention of this.
After much thought, I decided that there wont be any reserving Manipulation Tengu, or anything of the sort. Considering how overpowered they are... yeah, they are something that are hard to have control over, considering by then at that point, most people will probably already have a Tengu.
    Gwyndolyn

"Well, I didn't mean to offend, it's just that... well, you literally look like some sort of demonic knight or something with all those claws, creepy colors, and that... weird fire all over your face... speaking of which, doesn't that hurt or anything? It just seems way weird for that to be a part of your face is all," said Gwyn as he pointed towards Saber's face, before smiling a bit. Shrugging, he nodded his head towards the stairs leading out of the bunker. "Come, we're not too far from Septum. While I like you being antsy for a fight, we can't go charging at people suddenly or we'll be easy pickings."

Gwyn didn't seem to treat his Servant like a Servant... more as he did a partner. While he was sure that there were Masters out there who were definitely using their Servants as tools for their own means, he wasn't going to leave Saber to do all the fighting on his own. Sure, he wasn't strong enough to actually kill a strong Servant, but he was confident to defend against one, along with more than confident enough to defeat any Master that came his way. It was idiotic, but even so, it was his way of doing things. He would fight by his Servant side whether they liked it or not.

"Ah, Saber, just to make things clear... I do hope you are comfortable with me being alongside you. Don't get me wrong, I don't distrust your skills, but I didn't train and endure so much my entire life to let someone else do all the fighting for me. If we do get into a fight, we do things together, alright? I may not be able to kill a very powerful Servant, but I can provide you with an opening, and I can more than handle any Masters so you can go all out against the Servant. That alright with you, Saber?" he asked as he smiled again and placed his hand upon the hilt of his sword, before opening the door leading outside.
This universe is nowhere near related to the one in the manga besides the obvious, so there's no need to explain things.

Just say that he has it, or explain that he obtained it through some method or something.
Hm... I would say some, but not all of the canon ones can work. Cross Tail would be acceptable, however as a utility one.
    Gwyn

"Heh... Well, I guess it would appear that I am indeed your Master, Mr. Demon," chuckled Gwyn as he scratched the back of his head with a small smile.

He was completely unnerved by the ghastly figured before him, for how could he? A hero had to face things head on, even if they were a little bit afraid, they had to shrug that fear off and show their courage even in the face of death till the very bitter end. "About the blood... yeah, sorry about that, but I couldn't bring myself to actually kill anyone or anything since I didn't want their life to be in vain. To kill a creature and use their life for your own ends... and then to fail to even reach those ends... then how can you explain that what you did was right? I'd rather use myself and have only myself to blame than anything else."

Chuckling even further, Gwyn pointed his finger at his Servant. "Besides, if my blood summoned something like you, then that's kinda ironic! I'm supposed to be a hero, when in fact it looks like I my blood is suitable to summoning things of the demonic nature! Nonetheless, even if you are a demonic knight, I don't plan on us harming innocents or killing people, or Masters for that matter, willingly. The Servants are our target, since unfortunately they are expendable since they don't really die."

"Oh! Slightly relevant, but the name is Gwyndolyn Pantheon, but I prefer to be called Gwyn for short... and I assume you to be a Saber judging by your hefty sword there? Also, completely irrelevant, would you like some sweets? Bought too much from the store on my way over here and... well, I might as well share some," he said as he handed a small bag of candy towards his Servant out of nowhere.
"The Desert Region of Septum, in an Underground Bunker"

A young well-built man was kneeling over a partially completed symbol over the floor, a look of great caution over his face as he carefully marked the inscriptions with the edge of a sharp gem. He continued to mark and cut through the floor until the symbol was fully manifested; a summoning circle. He was used to working as a team, and with others as a freelancer, but this will be the first time that he would actually have absolute authority over someone... it kinda felt like a slave to master relation, one he didn't really like. Giving off a sigh, he placed the gem within the satchel around his waist, before turning towards the corner and making his way to it. Normal mages would have probably killed people, or even animals to have attained the blood needed to summon their Servant... but not him, for he instead used his own blood. For weeks since the invitations that the Holy Grail was starting soon, he forced himself to drain pint after pint of his own blood so that no one would have to be hurt in exchange for someone else's gain.

Unfortunately, that was what this exactly was... a war for someone's gain, and hopefully he would stop that. Asking for a pure and good utopia would be foolish, but asking for the power to protect the good from the bad on the other hand wasn't. Grabbing the pints of blood that he collected, he carefully poured them within the circle's markings, filling them as he continued his trail of thought. He couldn't help but wonder what kind of Servant he would be summoning, or if they would share his same goals for that matter. What if they were evil, or villainous? What if they were some sort of eldritch abomination that desired to only kill?

To that, Gwyn could only laugh to himself. The Holy Grail wouldn't pair him up with something like that... nor did he think it could summon something like that in the first place. Nonetheless, the preparations were complete, and he was ready to summon forth his Servant. Stepping outside of the circle, and extending his hand as he placed his other hand upon his wrist, he began chanting as he focused his mana into the words.

    "Fill... Fill... Fill... Fill... Fill...
Let each be turned and simply wrought asunder five times until the fulfilled time...
Let the steel and silver by thy essence and let the stone and the archduke of contracts be thy foundation...
Let my great master by the ancestor!
Raise out a wall against the wind so that it may not fall... Close out the four sacred Cardinal gates!
Burst forth from the crown, and rotate the three-branched road, reaching towards the Kingdom!
So thus I shall declare here...
While your body shall serve under me, my fate shall be alongside your sword!
If thy shall submit to the beckoning of this holy ritual... and if you will so submit to this will and reason of mine, then I ask of you to answer!
An oath between thee shall be sworn here!
I shall attain all virtues of all of the Heavens, and I shall also have dominion over all the evils of all of Hell!
From the Seven Heavens, attended to by three great words of power, come forth from the ring of constraints...
    ...O Protector of the Balance!"

The circle burst forth with mana as the Gwyn waited for the Servant he summoned to help him in obtaining the Holy Grail... and to save as many lives as he could.
