Really starting to hate these bi-weekly writing assignments...

Anyway, GM post is incoming tomorrow!

@Everyone: If you haven't posted yet in the RP, do try and do so if you can.

@Shikaru

You will be moved to team Taxpayers in my next post, if that's alright with you.

@daltar

I'll get you moved to Kael'valthar and keeping an eye on the kiddos there if you're still in this since I have no idea where the rest of your team is at.
@Zombehs

Yes! Depending on how you make them of course, it would have to fit more with a... 'berserker' or more grossly deranged theme if that's what you're looking for?

@BytheSpleen

Psychology and Neurology. Pretty much writing assignments every other week for evaluation. I actually love doing it, but dear god is it time consuming when I have to hamper down and do them. :/
I'm terribly sorry in the delay of things!

I got trampled with writing a doctoral report! (I got to write about five to eight pages worth for my doctor every other week, and it eats up my free time when I write them.) But now that I'm done with that, I'm free!

@grayaus

That resonance will be a big no-no, since... I don't see how anyone will be having 100 right off the bat.

@PaulHaynek

Yup. There's no rules that says otherwise or anything of the such.

@BytheSpleen

I'd say Penumbra and Lily are both accepted.

Can one play as a non-Chosen character?

Don't worry, I'll also be making a Chosen character to keep in the spirit of the RP.

Hm... Well, I would say it's possible, but I think they would have to be a companion more than anything so to speak. Like, they would have to be a companion of a Chosen character, perhaps?

Do titans have names?

Also how long ago was the scourge?

Have to re-read the OOC a couple of times before makin backstory and powers so meeh. Also if the personalities b too short, tell me and Ill make sure to fluff em up a bit 8D

EDIT- OH BTW.

When they 'force' a transformation how awesome is it? Or is it like a bad corruption where its like weaker and shit. Is it actually not awesome at all?

Also assuming that the tattoo mark left on the characters slightly represents the titan you harbor.

DOUBLE EDIT -

How do you rate resonance? Like 7/10? Or is it like A+ scale? Or do you do w/e you want so long as you kinda describe how they feel towards each other?

Also i hope you don't mind if i end up taking some liberties with my dude's backstory. I don't wanna write anything too extreme or dumb but sometimes ya gotta force-write stuff.

TRIPLE-HOPEFULLY LAST EDIT- OK SO I JUST KINDA WENT W/E WHEN DESCRIBING HIS TITAN POWERS, SO IF THEY ARE WAAAY OFF I WILL COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND IF YOU TELL ME TO FIX MY SHIT AND WIPE MY FACE.

Titans do have names, yup! As for the Scourge, it's been 10 years since they came to Earth, and another 10 years since the Titans, The Colossal one, and their allies came to Earth.

When you force a Titan Transformation, the coloration and shape of your Titan is off along with their mentality and your powers are more... skewed, and your resonance with the Titan drops as well- but the power gained during the transformation is stronger. For example, if you forced your Titan to transform their appearance wouldn't be so 'oceanic' but perhaps more grossly or maybe even with multiple maws or other unwanted protrusions forming from their bodies. Instead of being passive and peaceful, they may instead become aggressive and seek to fight and even tear their opponents to pieces. Eventually, if enough corruption happens, they may instead use blood or corpses to fuel their attacks instead of water itself as they start to gain a more demonic appearance.

The Titans are, just like you, living and malleable creatures that are capable of changing and growing as well. Depending on how you use them they could become corrupted entities that slowly claws away at the very fiber of your being... or something with enough power that can rival a God itself that you can truly rely on. It all depends on how you use them.

For the resonance rating, I'll be going off of a percentage rating with everyone's individuals actions to cause their rating to cause it to go up or down. Everyone's rating should, initially start off somewhere between 50 or 80 percent. If you're higher or lower, then you really need a good reason and should talk to me. 50% is Neutral, where as 80% is Very Good Terms.

As for Reynold, I would just edit his age and his backstory to match the time of things a bit. If you're going for a type of underwater-like Titan, then I think his Titan and their powers are a good match.

Also, I did finish up my example CS/Sign-UP for those who were struggling or need something to go by. Here's Shiro, and I hope that they end up helping some of you guys out with your characters!

  • Name: Shiro
  • Age: 20
  • Sex: Male?
  • Ethnic: American-Japan
  • Appearance:
  • Titan’s Appearance:
  • Personality: Shiro is a rather naive and somewhat gullible person, willing to believe people without seeing the ill-intentions that they may be having hidden within them. To Shiro, they believe that in every person there is good and that there is no reason for people to commit selfish deeds anymore considering the dire situation the human race is left with. This could leave to them being easily manipulated, but at the same time hard to actually kill someone unless a truly atrocious act is committed. Looking out for others and looking to where their help may be needed, they will always lend a helping hand out no matter one's social status. A kind, generous soul at heart and someone who would risk everything to protect those precious to them.
  • Titan’s Personality: Arbor, unlike its host is rather keen and observant. Due to Shiro's nature Arbor provides insight and advice to some matters along with how to go about things, although he doesn't approve of his host's gullibility to trust everyone. Wanting to see justice laid out to those who abuse their power and the weak protected, along with the Scourge obliterated at all costs, Arbor will give his powers freely as long as Shiro's actions are within those areas of reason. However, if Shiro continues their naivety things may end up changing.
  • Motives/Goals: So far, Shiro only wants to see the people protected and the Scourge kept away from people, along with people living as happily as they can. Whether this changes or not in due time is still up for debate.
  • Backstory/History: Shiro wasn't born in a wealthy or a poor family, nor were they immediately affected by the Scourge's arrival. Having lived a perfectly normal life up until the moment they had their Titan suddenly sealed within them, nothing was out of the unusual. Upon gaining Arbor, things changed when it led the Scourge to location of their desolate little town that was isolated from society. The normal life that they had was gone and was replaced with the realization that things were now different. Having lost their family when the Scourge came and having almost lost their own life were it not for Shiro's will to live forcing the transformation of Arbor did they survive. Never did they want to see families torn or towns destroyed again, and instead did they want to see the people protected and live in peace.
  • Skills: Outside of the swordsmen knowledge that they gained from Arbor, Shiro knows how to hunt basic animals and to set up camp with little to no actual tools. They are also an excellent cook as well!
  • Resonance: 76%
  • Powers: Shiro has two small versions of Arbor's signature Shield-Swords that they can materialize whenever they wish. Despite being incredibly lightweight, they are indestructible and are incredibly sharp tools that are more than capable of cutting through metals. Thanks to Arbor's holy attribute, Shiro has resistances to holy magic and is capable of use holy magic themselves such as healing, basic blasts of holy magic, and shield-type magic as well. Shiro also is extremely fast and is quite strong, being able to lift a tank with some effort.
  • Transformed Powers: Arbor, as the Titan of Chivalry has quite an array of powers and skills at his disposal, with his most notable being his four Shield-Swords that are attached to his arms. They are indestructible weapons that serve as both the ultimate defenses and the ultimate offenses, being capable piercing through the toughest of armor and nullifying divine enchantments, however they wouldn't be able to bypass an ability that would be stronger than a Titan's. They are immune to holy magic and are incredibly fast while having extreme strength, while sacrificing some durability. Being able to cast the highest tier holy magic such as divine healing, sacred shields, angelic flight, and stronger holy blasts more than make up for these lack in durability. Arbor's main weapons have a second ability, being able to split apart and shed their shielded armor that folds outwards and become longswords, sacrificing their defensive attributes for immense attack power. This also frees up Arbor's hands that are hidden within the weapons, allowing him to use them however he sees fits and more mobility with his arms, further strengthening his offensive capabilities. It could be said that Arbor's true strength lies within his incredible versatility in combat compared to the other Titans.
  • Equipment: Shiro has of course two small versions of Arbor's weapons, a backpack with some camping supplies, a few trade goods, and a weeks worth of food and water. They also have the clothes on their back as well.

Not a problem! Take as much time as needed. ^_^
Era of the End

“Is this the answer that has been given to us for all that we have done?”

There was once a person on the radio where we lived that used to say that our daily lives were unappealing, that we were constantly destroying ourselves as a human race. That we, as mankind, were nothing more than a self-destructive force that will eventually destroy the very world that we were given to live upon… or someone would do it for us.

Weeks later, that very same man would show up on TV, sweating heavily as he carried a TV news camera towards an incredibly busy place, almost as if a gathering of sorts was being held. Despite stealing the camera, nobody paid him any mind as everyone was looking up at the skies above… and as a cry suddenly filled the air. The man on the TV was frazzled and amazed at what was happening, that despite people trying gain the attention of those staring at the skies- who ranged from old to young yet stood no kids- they wouldn’t move or even blink. Over the TV, as the scorching sound of a roar grew louder and louder, something deep within our bodies and our minds told us that something dangerous was coming.

We always expected the apocalypse to come from the sounds of a trumpet rather than fierce cry… nor did we expect what was to come next to happen either. Angels, Demons, monsters… whatever you expected from the ‘apocalypse’ was nothing more than simple strings of lies built upon lies that we so foolishly lapped up like stray dogs. Then, when the truth came, it came forth with a bang unlike any other.

Though, from what the man said, things were far worse than a bang.

The clouds gathered together as they turned ethereal in appearance, looking colorless and now see through as they eventually formed a vortex in the skies above. Then a single figure descended like a falling star as it landed in the center of the gathered people elegantly. The figure was as tall as a light post and its image was both horrific and alluring.

Letting out a roar, the grinning deviant of unknown origin released tendrils from its back that pierced the very flesh of those who continued to stare without moving or blinking. The tendrils then split forth from the divine being and went into the people… immediately morphing their flesh, bones, and twisting their weak and fragile shells into something far more useful.

These turned creatures immediately turned upon their former human comrades and immediately began to both devour and slaughter indiscriminately without hesitation or fear, as four massive chains fell from the skies and impaled the ground, destroying buildings and constructs as they passed through them. From these chains, creatures with gaping maws in their chests and revealing muscles crawled their way down as colossal abominations sewn together by the corpses of what seemed to be other fantasy creatures fell from the skies. These colossal abominations grabbed a hold of the chains and tugged all at once, pulling down what seemed to be a gigantic and flying bloated reptilian creature with sacs on the underside of it over the city as more creatures started to jump off of it. It was here in this desolate town in the middle of nowhere did the end of all things begin, and did our true colors as human beings begin to shine.

Some called them Divine Retribution, Angels, Demons, or even the Heralds of the Apocalypse… but most of us simply called them the Scourge, for they simply brought nothing but death and destruction wherever they walked. Men, women, children… none were spared their wrath as they killed and corrupted all. The only things that were left alone were the animals, but they too eventually died due to Scourge’s foul tactics of leaving plagues wherever they went.

Even though our advances of technology thanks to building up the weapons which we call Frames, and we proved to hold them at bay as they took over much of North and South America… We still ended up at the brink of destruction. We always believed that if an outside force came that we would all miraculously unite under one banner and fight together, but in truth we didn’t for we were at each other’s throats than ever before. We fought over resources and territory and our very future along with what would happen to us after the Scourge was defeated when they was no victory in sight!

So, they spread and our military advantage and what little unity faded into nothingness over time. The Scourge spread as they took over the Americas, Asia, Africa, and started laying their filthy nests into every major city they could get their hands upon. The only last safe havens were Australia and the Antarctic regions, for the remaining military forces decided to lay a last line of defense within Europe at London, the Strait of Gibraltar, Istanbul, and Moscow. Despite these key locations being protected heavily and even the use of experimental weapons being used… the Scourge broke through and the world was forced to watch as hope was lost-

-but we, who had lost all hope as the encroaching darkness came upon us was blessed with a light unlike any other.

Lightning struck before the approaching armies of the Scourge as a thunderous sound echoed forth, as the very air before them warped and twisted. A distortion- a ripple through the fabric of the realm appeared just as day the Scourge came upon Earth, but as it did a colossal white alien-like titan with a fortress upon its’ very back emerged from the ripple and blew forth fire of a cerulean color as it spread for miles. Then, lightning shot out from the pillars upon its back as light spread throughout it and shot off in random directions… only to go across the world and harmlessly strike human beings, both adults, teenagers, and even those still in the womb. These chosen by this creature would soon find themselves with a tattoo-like mark upon their person.

As this new creature stayed and defended the land and repelled the armies of the Scourge, more distortions appeared over Earth as fantasy creatures appeared with golem-like creatures similar to the colossal one, but far smaller in size started to repel them. We would soon come to learn after coming into contact with one of the leaders on board the colossal creature, that the Scourge we being purged from their own world and had simply escaped into our world when they found a chance to.

Years have now passed since this event and those who have been chosen by the Colossal Creature have gotten older. The world has changed much now, and the sights of the centaurs that help carry things, minotaurs competing in brawls, gnomes tinkering with old military Frames and tanks, along with Orcs owning taverns have now become the normal along with new greenery here and there. It’s almost as if we have always lived with these mythical creatures and the lives we once had never truly existed…

You, being one of the chosen of the Colossal One, just what will you do now that you are capable of doing what you want? Will you explore the land of Earth? Make a name for yourself and gather some land and let others do the work? Perhaps you’ll take up arms and fight the Scourge and reclaim mother Earth… or perhaps you see things in a different light and see all this as just retribution?

Just how will your tale meet its end?

Hello and welcome to Era of the End!

In this RP we are the Chosen humans who were designated as the ones capable of bearing the Titans, the ones who were called Golems of Change and were considered to be Gods in the realm where the Colossal Titan came from. We will decide our own destiny as we choose to explore the land and either make a name for ourselves, fight the Scourge, or seek out a safe haven where we can live out our days in peace... Whatever you decide to do, the options are entirely up to you!

Just be warned that in this world, that with every action made leads to consequences and even emotional conflict.

Some choices can even lead to unexpected results as well, but the question is are they truly unexpected in a world where everything has truly gone to hell and there is no longer any laws?

Here, you decide how your character's story shall start and how it will end. The possibilities are only limited to the user and what they think they can accomplish, however, do keep in mind that Standard RP rules are being enforced!

Here's the Character Sheets for those who are interested, and do please post your characters here in the OOC first!

  • Name: What is your name?
  • Age: How old are you?
  • Sex: Male, female? Or something else?
  • Ethnic: Where do you hail from?
  • Appearance: What do you look like?
  • Titan’s Appearance: What does your sealed Titan look like?
  • Personality: How do you act around others such as friends, enemies, and strangers? Are you kind? Filled with malice and seeking revenge? Perhaps you’re just an upbeat character who’s just trying to find their purpose.
  • Titan’s Personality: What is your Titan like? Are they like you, or are they the complete opposite?
  • Motives/Goals: Now, what exactly is it that keeps you ‘moving’. What keeps you ‘alive’ and going? Tell me what it is that makes you continue to live in this world that has presumably forsaken all hope? Everyone has some reasoning, whether it be to protect, to grow stronger, for revenge, or simply to survive for themselves… hell, perhaps you’re seeking a suitable death? What is it?
  • Backstory/History: Everyone has their own little story so to speak. What’s yours? What kind of life did you live before the Scourge came along and changed everything if you were old enough? Who did you lose? What did you gain? What is the start of your tale?
  • Skills: These are the natural skills and talents your character has learned or has developed throughout their journey! Are they good at say, cooking? Medicine? Crafting? Just what are their perks?
  • Resonance: This is how well you currently get along with your sealed Titan; the greater the rating the more power they will allow you to transform and will even help you and allow you to hear their voice. The less the rating the more the Titan will refuse to want to transform and the more you will have to ‘force’ the transformation and possibly cause it to corrupt. The more you do things your Titan likes, the more this rating increases, the more you do things it dislikes, the more this rating decreases etc.
  • Powers: Now we get to the really interesting stuff; your characters powers. Here are the powers you have at all times even while not in your transformed state. This can be enhanced strength, senses, endurance, and resistance to some magic or even some elements. It’s entirely up to you what kind of ‘passive’ powers your character has. Of course, while they aren’t transformed they are capable of magic that is in relation to their trapped Titan within them- for example: say that you have a fire based Titan, you would be capable of having fire resistance and being able to use low to mid-tier fire spells. Not only that, but you also wield a pretty timid version of their weapons if they have some. For example: if you have a Titan that wields indestructible hammers that calls forth mighty storms and lightning than you too would have indestructible hammers, but they probably wouldn’t be able to call forth storms, but instead small lightning strikes from the tip. This is the huge power gap difference between your regular powers and your ‘transformed’ powers.
  • Transformed Powers: Now we are at the full-fledged Titan and their powers. Here we see just how strong your Titan is and how much they are truly capable of… however, do be reasonable here. Just because Titans are capable of incredible feats and can be comparable to living Gods even, doesn’t mean that they are invincible nor should they be treated as such. Keep them strong and balanced. I will be paying heavy attention to this category and make adjustments as I see fit.
  • Equipment: This is what your character has on their personnel.

Yeah... I know it's a lot to fill out, but I really didn't want anyone to be confused or anything on what I was looking for. I will have an example Sign-Up sheet tomorrow if people are having trouble however and need an idea.

Anyway, if there's any comments or anything feel free to post them and I'll be sure to get to them!

The Plains of the Solemn Melodies

The strange ethereal man simply tilted his head as he looked towards Shannon, trying to figure out how best to answer her question. Even if he did know what to answer with, not having a mouth was quite difficult for the poor thing. Though, he would find a way to make do. Taking out his baton once more, the tall man conducted some sort of strange tempo before a small arrangement of notes appeared before him.

The notes swirled around a bit and began to dance as the flowers and even the grass began to move softly. The air filled with a soft melody, one that was pleasing to the ears and also energetic as well. The man simply continued to move and motion his arms as if he was truly before a orchestra, only for a harmony of sounds to fill the landscape before them. Everything felt as if it was going to be alright and that there was a coming peace with the wave of music despite there being no players or instruments in sight.

As the sounds started to become nothing more than a whisper on the winds and fade away, the man bowed before producing a small note card from his pocket which read:

A Musician is what I am. A pleasure to make your acquaintance.

Not stopping there, the man looked towards Rena and placed one of his long fingers against the side of his head in thought. Having produced an idea, he hopped without making a sound over the group and landed gracefully onto the meadow and pointed towards the road nearby heading towards god knows where.

Pointing at the three of them and clasping his hands together and resting against them as if pretending to sleep, it would seem the man was saying that they all surely looked tired. Moving towards the three of them, he extended a hand towards Valair and Rena as if to help them get up, while tilting his head at Shannon, still wondering what the three thought of him.

No matter, it didn't matter to him much, for he had an audience to listen to his music once again!

Kael’valtar, The City of Soaring Hopes

The mage let out a small laugh as he grinned with delight, it had been a while since he had been this entertained with guests in his city. Still, if he went out of his way and had too much fun then he might just end up killing them. Looking towards Kuel'Dalas within the mirror he folded his arms and let out a sigh, before rubbing his fingertips and producing a white stellar light.

For a moment, the thought of laying down more tasks and trials for the mortals seemed appealing. The idea of making them work to prove themselves and show their worth and value just as he had for hundreds of years sounded oh so appetizing. He hated the idea that humans, weaklings who had resorted to such atrocities and cheap tactics to obtain power and had killed so many of his kind... were now their very saviors.

To top it all off, he was to be their teachers... and the very idea of it was revolting.

Standing from his chair and heading downstairs to where his guests had arrived, the idea of setting them ablaze with a spell or two was knocking on the back of his head like a constant hammer. A single flick of his wrist was all it would take and he could simply brush it off as an attempt at his life.

He reached the bottom of the stairs and appeared before Mana, Darius, and Joel... and simply glared at them along with the door that they were supposed to use the master key that he gave Mana on... although, if it was already open then that means he would have to punish his guards later. It was in pieces, probably due to the fact that one of them rammed into it full force. Looking back at the warriors- no, kids to be precise, he looked carefully and noticed that they were all pretty exhausted and bruised, some more than others.

"Impudent children..." he murmured towards the trio as he flicked his wrist and cast his spell.

Immediately, the door that had been battered fixed itself upon the hinges and closed itself.

"You do know that you simply could have used the key I gave you to open the door, yes? There was no need to break my things and force your way in here..." he said as he walked towards Darius and Joel, looking them over a bit. "You both look relatively fine, minus a few cuts and raw skin. If you cannot handle that then I suppose you aren't real men. As for you," the elf glanced towards Mana, "I'll take a look at your wounds or have someone take a look. My Sentinels were not supposed to cause any real harm... but it seems they went a bit overboard."

I'm still too nice to harm kids it seems... plus they're too naive and foolish to take responsibility for anything that has been done here...

"Come, I'll get you all some change of clothes and a warm bed to rest in along with something to eat," murmured the elf as he began heading up the stairs, before pausing. "Ah, I almost forgot... My name is Prince Kael’valtar, and welcome to Aurora," he said with a smile before shooting a tiny lightning bolt at Joel from the tip of his fingertip, signaling that this was no dream. "From hence forth, you all will be studying under my tutelage and will have my protection... Now," snapping his fingers Prince Kael'valtar produced three keys- each landing before Mana, Joel, and Darius; with the emerald gemmed key in front of Mana, the ruby gemmed key in front of Joel, and the Topaz gemmed key in front of Darius, "come and head to your rooms which are marked by the color of the gem within your key."

With that, Kael'valtar made his way up the stairs wondering what to do next, and what to do with the weapon in the mirror.
Made a GM Post!

@daltar

Since I have nooo idea where your teammates are at dalt, I'm thinking about moving you around a bit since you're the only one still there in your group... so I'm sorry for the delay >_< Trying to figure out where to put you.

@kapuchu

Going to post a separate GM post tomorrow to give the others in your group time to post, okay? If not, I'll just be responding to you, which will be fine.

Besides daltar, who else is still in the Lovos group? Or are they the only one?
