Banned for finding the One Piece before Luffy.
Thanks guys! Though, in honesty, it's moreso great for me to be able to write a bit with you guys, than for you guys to have little old me on board... this already looks to be shaping up really well, and The Mindskitter in particular was a straight-up genius character before he even got out the door.

Aw, shucks.

Really, though, great to have you join. Good luck on both your math and character.

@Lichthart Coolio, nice to have another player.
The Mindskitter had not feasted like this in days. The savory taste of steak to potroast, finally transforming into the bitter taste of dark chocolate. This man had experienced his father's shadow for years, his sorrow a sad treat offered up to the abomination. Oh, how the mental parasite could not contain itself, what a life tale! It shed it's momentary cover in the bushes to hide, instead, in the shadow of the knight, nearly latching onto him. The potency of the consumed knowledge grew with such increased proximity. It's gluttony became foolishness, as it dismissed the shadows facing him near the bonfire.

The hot board cut into it nicely. The Mindskitter did not shriek in any form except mentally, leaving his armored host with the ringing of agony as it dismissed it's mental synchronization with him. It saw the girl, a midget fish spawn if anything, and the sticky substance the abomination's wound had sprayed on her arms. The burnt wood was soon broken out of the invaded skin and flung at the girl, splintering, and the Mindskitter's cerebral plane opened up to the assailant;

The shift was invisible to all but the Mindskitter and "Gish", her name unveiled through a newly synced knowledge consumption. The Mindskitter could now easily tap into the swampbreed's memories and ideals, using them against her. Yet, the thoughts of the bayou-born were much more religiously zealous then it had previously expected (the legend hadn't really expected those results at all, honestly). This did give it a start, at least. Digging further, the beast found a memory of a lost mother. Abandonment and condemnation, a perfect retaliation. infiltrating the visual stimuli of her cerebral, it brung upon her a vision of her mother's departure complete with vivid sensations of religious faltering. Ah, the revenge was sweet. It closed the plane, leaving a message of nuetral tone reprimanding the fish and asking for the silence of any other endeavors.

The Mindskitter quickly weaved into the curtain of vines that clothed the bonfire area, finding refuge in a round of bushes (all of which resembled tied together branches of a palm tree). It was a simple retreat from others that might have found it's body a butcher's meat. It still possessed great sight of the situation, as well as a mental, consuming sync with this Gish. It was utterly curious of these creatures' reactions to the aberration's abilities, especially the receiving end of that aquatic humanoid.
Quick question for everyone: Is it cool if I move this RP over to the Casual Section? I think it has outgrown the Free Section both in tone, depth and attitude. I would basically just transfer all of the game information into a new thread, copy and paste the story thus far and have Hank or someone close this thread. Only thing you guys would need to do is transfer your character sheets. Let me know how you guys feel about that. Probably won't happen for at least another 24-36 hours if everyone is OK with it. THanks!

I'm fine with that.
Name: The Mindskitter

Race: Aberration

Appearance:

Inventory: Nothing

Personality: A quite intellectual being, really, with the ability to make very educated decisions, even devilishly clever ones, for such a horrid beast of it's caliber. Usually behaves mildly, though, unless extremely perturbed.

History: The feeder of knowledge, it is an aberration that has been detailed from nearly the beginning of written surfaces. It is famous for it's peculiar habit of following those of the Infinite halls, especially whom are new inhabitants, constantly and indefinitely. It craves, even feeds off, knowledge and travels onward and onward through the infinite halls to find hosts capable of providing it's most thoughtful sustenance. Due to it's frightening rarity, perhaps even the last of it's kind, many do not harm the utterly unique creature.

Other: The Mindskitter does not require food, sleep, drink, or air to survive, but only a constant stream of knowledge. If not provided with such within a 120 hour period, it will suddenly go into a dormant, hibernation state that it can only be woken up from with the introduction of tantalizing information (the reading of a chapter or two will do). It can be killed through physical (and even magical) means, but not psychic, pyschological, or charm-based ones. It's singular mode of self-transportation is it's innate ability to drift/float it's body mass off the ground at a moderate pace.

Knowledge Consumption: Whilst consuming the knowledge of an indivual, the Mindskitter must maintain attachment (called a "mental sync") of one of it's bodily or 'phantom' tendrils to the indivual. The manifestation of 'phantom tendrils' are mental, but become physical and physically manipulable upon creation. The Mindskitter experiences pain if such tentacles are harmed. The phantom tendrils can extend much farther then the beast's bodily tendrils. Upon feeding, the host merely feels a slight, pleasing, tingling sensation at the back of their neck, near the brainstem. Knowledge consumed goes into the Mindskitter's "plane of psyche", which is detailed by a few rare philosophers to be an infinite extension of the beast's cerebral. The Mindskitter is instantly pleased differently depending on the knowledge's origin and potency, as if it were actually eating (a knight's secret oath tastes as a royal banquet, a lover's secret wish; rich cake). Such consumption can cause amnesia, but only at the abomination's discretion.

Communication; If impressed by the knowledge it consumes from one or another indivual, the Mindskitter has been legendarily theorized to be able to open it's indescribable plane of psyche up to most characters in order to communicate with them through a method of telepathy. Such plane can be closed at anytime. The Mindskitter can also communicate with a person while they are sleeping by interrupting any dreams they may have been having.
Banned for not cursing whilst you ban.
It floated effortlessly, the suddenly erupted bonfire having caught it's attention. It identified and acknowledged it's luck of the situation, being in the presence of such strange and alien creatures... At least, that's what they appeared like to the Mindskitter. They survived in packs, most definently, yet he could not pinpoint the pack's exact number as more came into view. Perhaps the mental confrontation of one of it's members would unveil hidden meaning behind this, these, species. A simple glide and he was hiding behind a peculiarly lack-luster specimen hurrying to the bonfire. He held a broken piece of metal, and was even adorned metal, perhaps this was simply a cultural tradition? No matter, it would know momentarily.

Syncing with the creature, (it was quite easy, they were very simple-minded). The Mindskitter began to drink the juices of his cerebral-

"Oh goodness this is glorious.", it thought.

A whole royal feast and banquet lay on the beast's mindful tongue as he gorged thoughts of stables and knightly modesty. This delicious coarse was to be savored, indeed. The body of the mythic creature dissolved into the low lying vines and moss pads as he continued his pyschely bonded serving. These creatures, if they did not differ from this male, would be a godsend.
@GodOfWar Quick question: How big is the Mindskitter?

Not much bigger then your average humanoid. If set down it's around 5'4" or 5'5", while floating it's only a few two inches extra off the ground.
