The blue liquid in special security cell #234Z didn’t appear to respond to the warning from the crystal. That was because Inque was much more interested in getting out of its cell now that the security systems penning it in were down. This included the hated liquid nitrogen spray nozzles which the guards would spray to stop any escape attempt. But now, with all of them down, the blue liquid suddenly transformed itself into a large mass which slammed itself into the plastasteel window facing the prison walkway. Over and over again, it crashed against the window. At first it didn’t appear that any damage was done, but eventually a small crack appeared in the pane. That was all Inque needed to escape, She flowed into the crack, widening it as she pushed herself forward to spill out onto the catwalk. She was soon out of her cell, covering the floor. But she was exhausted from breaking out of her cell. Inque needed to feed, and soon. The guards had deliberately kept the amount of “food” Inque received low to keep her weak. And she was ravenous.

But fortune smiled upon her. Just as she finished exiting her cell, she could feel the tremors of two humanoids running towards her. They were a pair of Nova Corpsmen, who were trying to escape from the mob of freed prisoners. They didn’t see Inque, who had camouflaged herself as part of the floor. They both stopped to stare at the floating crystal, and were right in the middle of Inque’s spread out body.

A pair of blue waves swept up from the floor and closed over both of the guards who screamed in terror. There screams were cut off as Inque covered them both with her liquid form. Inque’s neurotoxin quickly took hold, and both were paralyzed almost instantly. That made it so much easier to feed on their life energy. It took only a few moments for them to be drained.

“Ahhhh,” Inque said as she finished feasting on their life force. “Much better.”

Now that Inque had regained a significant amount of power, it was time to figure out what was going on, and what the crystal meant by the prison exploding. Inque was vaguely aware that something was wrong in the prison, but that was all. The answers apparently lay with the crystal which had hovered nearby and had done nothing as she fed on both corpsmen. Inque pulled herself together into her more common form, a dark blue humanoid figure devoid of any details or facial features save a single white spot for a “face.”

“Lead on, little friend,” Inque said as she began to follow it, leaving the two dead guards and her “escape proof” cell behind.

Katrina's contract gave her spider powers as follows:
Enhanced Strength, Durability, and is extremely agile; Immunity to poison; regeneration;
Create a general anesthetic or a neurotoxin for deployment via fangs, can also “spit” a much weaker version of her neurotoxin to cause temporary blindness in a victim; Create “spider-silk” and project it from hands and feet; Ability to climb shear surfaces and ceilings; Ability to detect vibrations from sources unto 30 meters away. Katrina’s ability is limited to a warning sense. She is not yet skilled enough to pinpoint where the source is.

Why they Joined the Circus. - Katrina joined the circus for the most basic and selfish of reasons. She wanted to escape her strict parents and live out her dream of becoming a circus performer. The Ringmaster was impressed with not only her audition, but also her zeal in wanting to join. But he also took advantage of Katrina's naïveté. Katrina was told her she would obtain spider powers upon signing her contract with the stipulation she fight demons. Katrina was thrilled by the prospect of becoming superhuman, and while not thrilled, accepted the role of warrior. She signed the contract before the Ringmaster could tell her about the other condition. She was shocked when the Ringmaster told her she would would be required to drink warm, mammalian blood to retain her powers. Katrina was shocked at this condition and remained in denial over becoming a vampire for several weeks. But it was too late to go back, as her hunger took over and she made her first kill. Katrina generally finds the prospect of drinking human blood revolting, but if she can't find another mammal, she will feed on people.

Their Biography - Katrina was born Natalia Smirnova and grew up in Minsk, Belarus as part of a wealthy, privileged family. She went to a private school, learned English and generally had a comfortable life. Her father was a senior member of Belarus’ committee for state security, AKA KGB, whose job was to keep President Lukachenko in power.

Natalia wanted to be a professional acrobat someday, and found several instructors to teach her. Of course acrobatics came naturally to Natalia (her teachers marveled at her raw ability), but what she wanted was refinement, to turn her moves into art. What started as just a distraction grew into a full-blown obsession by the time she was a teen. Natalia never told her parents what her goal was, cloaking it as “just a hobby” And they continued to give Natalia their assent as long as she was doing well in school.

That was, until discussions began about university. Natalia’s parents were wealthy enough that they could send her to a foreign school, and were making plans to send her to England when Natalia announced that she didn’t want to go to university. Instead she wanted to begin a professional career as an acrobat.

The argument that followed was epic, but the gist was this: her parents thought she would not be able to support herself, and was right on the borderline of acceptable behavior. Eventually the discussion was ended with a firm ban on becoming an acrobat by Natalia’s parents.

Of course, Natalia planned to defy her parents wishes. But instead of storming out of the house, she waited. Her father was powerful enough to turn the borders of Belarus into the walls of a huge prison for her. Instead, Natalia acted like the good girl her parents expected her to be. She agreed to go to university and not be an acrobat. She waited until she went to America as a reward for her hard work at school. And then one day she didn’t go back to her hotel. A few days later she found the circus and signed on using her new name, Katrina.

Their Connections - On the surface, Katrina is a carefree young woman with a bubbly personality, who just wants to have fun. In the short time she has been in the circus, she has already made friends with most of the performers. However, the one relationship Katrina prizes the one she established with with Dana.

When Katrina first saw Dana’s performance, she was mesmerized by the way she handled the big cats during her act. In time, however, Katrina saw what a sad life Dana lead, trying protect and comfort the tigers she performed with, and then going out and getting blasted as a way to release the depression. Katrina loved to party, but that was just too much. Dana was slowly destroying herself over those cats. Protecting those creatures was a noble mission, Katrina knew, but not at the expense of destroying oneself. Interest turned to empathy, and a desire to help.

A few months passed before, out of pure curiosity, Katrina decided to follow Dana during one of her binges. Of course, Dana knew all the time that Katrina was following her, she was a were-cat after all, and called out to her shadow and asked to join her. Dana had met Katrina a few times in passing. But bubbly and chatty aerialist annoyed Dana, and beyond a few words here and there really didn't speak to her. What

Their Audition - Here, I want you to describe your character's act from the perspective of one of the visitors of the Circus. Inque is out for herself because nobody else has ever lifted a finger to help her. She can be ruthless and trusts little, but also follows a “thieves code" of sorts. Her word is her bond and she will not break that, because she has nothing else to trade on. Inque has little trouble killing or or hurting enemies or “professionals.” She will not harm innocents unless she is extremely desperate to feed. Inque is cynical, sarcastic, has a dark sense of humor, and is very hard to get close to emotionally. She can also be strangely seductive, and enjoys playing the "femme fatal" to get close to other humanoids for both intelligence collection and for a bit of “self-indulgence.”
Appearance:
Normally a large puddle of viscous translucent blue liquid, Inque can form any shape with any number of appendages that suit her needs. Inque can also form human like details to better interact with others. However, her most used form is a very simple dark blue humanoid figure with two arms, two legs, a trunk, and a head with a large white spot for a "face."

Inque is completely fluid. She can stretch a considerable distance, climb vertical surfaces, or can pass through liquid permeable surfaces. She is incredibly strong and dexterous, and has an extremely fast reflexes. She is immune to disease, most toxic substances, can survive in the most hostile of environments, and is able to regenerate. She is also nearly immune to physical trauma and falls. If parts of her are separated, they will flow to the largest body for reabsorption. Inque can secrete a very powerful contact neurotoxin which is capable of paralyzing even the strongest creatures as long as she can make skin contact.
Inque can change the color of her skin to match the background, but must move slowly to maintain the effect (think Predator). She can also absorb and dissipate all forms of electromagnetic energy, making her "stealthy." She also has no scent and moves silently. Inque has the normal five senses of a human, but all are enhanced. She can also sense vibrations with enough accuracy to attack, and see in the infrared spectrum.
Weapon(s) (if any): In combat Inque will form razor sharp blades or claws from various appendages.
Weaknesses: Inque can be harmed by extreme levels of cold or heat, such as chemical fires or cryogenic gasses, or by extremely low atmospheric pressures (which will boil her). Inque is immune to starvation and thirst, and does not need to breath. However, she is a life force vampire and must regularly feed on the life force of humanoids, or, if all else fails, lesser creatures to survive.

Current Residence: Special Security Cell #A1455, Meteor Prison Zeno. The cell was specially designed to house Inque and is equipped with a force field to prevent her escape, unless the primary and back up power systems fail...
Backstory: Inque has little memory of her childhood, doesn’t know her real name and isn’t even certain of her race, other than it was humanoid. What she does recall were the near endless lab experiments she was subjected to and the pain they caused. Inque was eventually transformed into a sentient blue liquid and trained in languages, clandestine, intelligence collection, and sabotage operations by an unknown group. Eventually Inque managed to break out of her confining tank and went on a rampage, killing everybody she could find and then destroying the laboratory housing her. That was eight years ago. She has since become a highly skilled, thief, spy, and saboteur in high demand throughout the known galaxy.
Special Skills (if any): Inque is highly intelligent, cunning, and speaks multiple languages. She is extremely skilled in security systems, intelligence collection, and intelligence/covert operations.
