I will try to get something done today...later, or tomorrow, if I can concentrate. Yesterday I was slammed with a flu/cold/something that went from feeling fine at 10pm Monday, to emptying my longs for 6+ hours starting at 2AM Tuesday. Writing this now at 1:14 AM Wed, and my fingers feel like they are made of metal, so many typos.

Here's hoping this ends as suddenly as it started?

Once again, didn't mention wear a suit. To the job interview I went to for my current position, I wore a nice collared shirt and tidy, neat dress pants with some well-polished shoes. It pays to look presentable, even if it is for something like McDonalds.

One job I was applying for, I wore good, clean, pants, and a nice sweater. Other guy shows up as if he just tried to emulate Eminiem.

Job was for a position as a grinder in a small factory making wood/gas stoves and inserts.

Yeah, I got that one.

I have to agree with Magnum, you need to dress somewhat fittingly for the type of work you're being interviewed for. My friend showed up to a welding interview in dress pants, dress shirt, etc: They turned around, sat him at a welder, and told him to show them how well he welds. Ruined his clothes, but he got the job.

Old identity was too 16 year old proto-emo.

Couple years back, I was dragged into a local paintball team, and needed a nickname. Only paintball gun I had at the time, was rather unique: An original Tippmann 98 Special Edition in Goldmarble powdercoating.



Only made in a limited run back in like, 1999-2000 or something. So, I took Goldmarble and ran with it. Been using it for pretty much everything since.

Avatar? Came across the pics that the guy took of bird corpses found in Tanzania's Lake Natron, and was mildly fascinated by the posing he did with them. Suits my morbid, old, grouchy personality to some extent I'm told.

What we've observed is that people reading a lot of books pick up languages real well, so non-native speakers can become in some ways better than natives, who just presume they're nigh-perfect at their own language because it is their own.

Pffft, you could never match my skills in English words, for I have grown up with...

Fuck that, you probably have a better vocabulary in English than I do, and I'm born and raised West Coast Canadian (French is meaningless here, and while it is technically "taught" compulsory in school, I still know next to nothing).
