Current Sometimes it doesn’t matter too much what choice you make, as long as you make it quick and stick to it.

Merry Easter, one and all. Happy Day if you celebrate it or, if not, I just hope it was a happy day anyways

You should laugh every moment you live, for you'll find it decidedly difficult afterwards.

Bio

Hey there, I assume you want to know about me so here it is...

The name is gowia (g-ow-ee-ah) or Alex. Or anything else you come up with, I'm not fussy.

I am a 25 year old male, though comfortably I'll play anything as a character.

I am a Brit born and bred and so that is my lingo, I use British words and love my slang, and if I don't seem to make sense I may simply be using English idioms that don't translate outside the rural country abodes I swan around.

I enjoy all sorts of things, I am an avid football (soccer) player and supporter, adore music, and live for a good story. I am in love with history. So you will always get a decent plot or conversation out of me on that subject.

If there is anything else you need to ask, feel free too. I swear I don't bite... much.

This isnt exactly the UK system which is why i am using President and Vice President, i am simply basing the idea on it so a House of Commons and Lords, with a majority and an opposition etc. Will be present by i am not adhearing to it exactly. Furthermore the system isnt under any real pressure simply because the only groups that are bitching about the system are those that supported parties like UKIP. And personally i am delirious they only got one seat. The system itself works, and means that when a new extremist party comes along it finds it difficult to get any real traction. The nazi party emerged in a proportional rep system and i dont like the system. However it would make more sense to have a proportional rep system here so i am happy to change it.

The United Territories of Civitas, or UTC, a country built on a foundation of democracy and freedom. The UTC is only 297 years old, a junior compared to some of her ancient neighbours, however she has a history filled with action and prestige. The main difference in the UTC and other countries is her democratically elected government that has always been present. Other democracies have all emerged from autocratic monarchies. The UTC is not a superpower, recently an international recession, mass austerity and national strikes have left the economy shattered and the people calling out for change. But now, in the year 2015, a new election campaign is beginning and this is the time for new parties to step in and save the nation. Bringing it not only back from the brink, but to new heights of power.

Now you know the very basics, some quick OOC. You will each be playing 1, or more, Member of Parliament (MP for short) and those MPs will be leading members of a number of different political parties that are up for election in the next UTC election. The election will follow a 'first past the post' system with each territory voting on their MP. Very much like the UK system. After the election we will have a government (be it a single party, coalition or national) and then you, as MPs, will start putting bills to the floor to try and introduce or amend existing laws in an attempt to better the country. As well as this one of you will be the new President and one of you the Vice President. During this time i will introduce crises and random events that will need dealing with. As this is an interest check i wont be outlining the exact system and existing laws however if enough interest is found i will get one up as soon as possible.
I am throwing it under number of things...there isn't really a single section for this. I will put it in general now though.
Haha! Thats fine, at first it will be creating manifestos and making nice. After the election you can start deporting everyone who has green eyes and arresting those whose ring fingers are longer than their pointers.

@Byrd Man I remember it! Was going to join but it was based on american politics and really my only knowledge of that come from House of Cards. This is a little more UK based system so I know it a lot better.
Fascist party is fine but the country isn't in that bad of a shape (not weimar Germany standards). For a really good chance of election you may want to be a little more conservative than fascist and then become fascist whilst in power.

I would be interested!
@Murtox
Your post is currently close to unacceptable. Literacy rates and economic growth are things I will judge.

@Bastone
Your post is currently unacceptable. You are planning to connect your entire country by railway, construct masses of factories and industry, build a string of forts/defenses, lots of new schools, a new university and construct 9 new warships...no nation can even try and undertake a task like that straight away and at once. Further more you havent actually described what projects you will do to 'increase jobs and businesses'. Those are details I need. Yearly recruitment is down to me, and each nations yearly recruitment will be updated by me once a year in the winter. You also say this will all cost 7.5 billion thrones...your GDP is not your yearly profit. It's your production, you produce a lot and have a lot of money. But even so you cannot do everything you have described and it will cost a hell of a lot more than 7.5 billion anything.

To be clear too Murtox and Bastone...your posts are not orders, they are your countries...I want to see you pass legislation, have political bickerings and begin projects (Which you have done) and this is not a game. Make a story in your countries.

In regards to economy I am not doing costs. GDP is simply there for me to help work out economy strength. Use the description of how strong it is and use logic. I cannot hold your hands with this since I don't have time. Your economy is weak? You will not be constructing much anytime soon, maybe a small ship and some investment. Your economy is very strong? Maybe a couple of ships, infrastructure investment and some industrial investments. I do not takeaway upkeep from GDP, so you are also paying for that. If you want to do loads in one year...I will probably throw you into debt...GDP the same but you will be informed of a deficit that needs fighting soon.
Yeah got the PM. Struggling to keep eyes open right now so I shall respond when I am more lucid.
