The City That Metaphorically Never Sleeps - Shotaro

Money! A phone! Things were already looking up for their situation! And they believed them too to boot. If Shotaro hadn’t already admitted to the massive fumble he pulled just moments ago, he would’ve claimed it was all according to his nonexistent plan. As Steven and Chain walked away, he gave them a thankful nod and pocketed the phone and stashed the bills away in his wallet. ”Thanks. Nice meeting you two too.” There was a grave part of him that couldn't help but be skeptical of this search task. He certainly hoped they weren’t plunging into some sort of hit operation by helping them out.

He turned back to Satori as she approached them, recalling what her ability was when she mentioned he wasn’t lying. Or at least, he chalked it up to her ability. If he didn’t spot any lying tells, he was pretty sure nobody else had. ”No, I don’t think it’s normal to just give out stuff like this to strangers either no matter the place,” he stated, agreeing with the Youkai, ”It's kinda weird that he had a disposable phone on him, but I guess whatever their work is requires it. Where do you think we should even start looking?” Shotaro took a long look around them, ”New York’s a big place for just the five of us, and I don’t think we wanna be out here for too long trying to find these guys, right?” Shotaro opened up the newspaper he got from Steven again, scanning the articles over more earnestly for anything that seemed related to the people they were looking for.

Reasoning With A Psycho - Philip

This girl really had no sense of right or wrong, did she? And she was missing his point entirely! Philip held back a sigh as he came to this dreadful conclusion. He really couldn’t just let things continue without her understanding what was so wrong about her initial idea, at least not here. She could easily get them neck-deep in trouble they didn’t need. ”Let’s focus back on why you can’t just kill any random person for any random reason. As you said, you would want to hurt back anyone that hurt your mother, right? I’m sure you would be angry, and even sad if she was killed too. You can’t just replace mothers after all, they’re always one of a kind,” he noted, briefly thinking about his own, ”It’s why you can’t just kill a random person for any random reason. They’re all one of a kind to someone else, and might be just as important to them as your mother is to you. It’d make them sad and angry and plenty of other uncomfortable feelings too. Nobody deserves to feel that way or be treated like that unless they earned it”

Philip felt his explanation was enough for now. Sure there was a bunch more moral nuances to discuss in that argument- that last bit especially. What defines having earned feeling like total shit? Getting killed? Etc, etc. That was a discussion to have another day, though, once “Jack” had really thought over what he told her. For now, though, Philip looked up to see the people Shotaro and Saber were speaking to had walked away. ”Please think about all that the next time you think killing someone would be the easy solution. Feel free to ask any of us about it later, too. Not now, though, it seems our friends just got done over there. Let’s catch up to them. With that, Philip walked over to the reforming group, motioning for “Jack” to come with.
Okie dokes.
Gack. Sorry, I just clicked in here because I like to peek in at random RPs that seem interesting.

Romance isn't really my strong suit, though, so I'm gonna have to pass on that.
Blake's immediate response.

Y'know, I really have no clue to what extent we oughta be controlling the NPCs. Like, I didn't expect anyone else except for pockets to take control of Largent in that situation (or Om in class). Is Thundercrash our Unofficial Official Co-GM or did you two kinda collaborate on it?
Hal would find that someone was already filling in for the position he was trying to take. Blake had pushed through the crowd a bit too late to stop the initial swinging, but he was definitely there in time to cover Richard and Sophia's escape. "Holy geez man, it sounded like you broke his nose!" he remarked as he tried helping him up. "But seriously," he lowered his voice, "Get the heeeeeeeck out of here while you can. I'll meatshield you!" He seemed earnest about his intentions and gestured for them to get going, taking a moment to look back at Largent to see if he'd gotten back up.

Blake had plenty of pluck to square off with Largent if need be, but there was just something... very imposing about him in general. Breaking up fights had been scary at first, but he eventually toughened up to be able to handle a few swings and return a few if need be. But with Largent... Geez, the guy just seemed a lot more intimidating than any of the other guys he's had to deal with up to now. It made him feel uneasy about intervening, but his moral code wouldn't abide by him backing out now.
Before Blake knew it, the period had passed. He managed to finish with time to spare, but he couldn’t deny that was definitely the longest it took for him to finish a test. If he had to actually start studying to get through this class… The thought made him shudder as he turned it in to Om. He wiped the metaphorical sweat off his brow as he packed his stuff into his backpack, slipped it over his shoulder, and went into the hall. Class was essentially over by then, so he just made his way over to his third period class ahead of time to reunite with his brother. Neither twin looked any better, really, but it was nothing they weren’t used to.

Once that period passed the two were bound for the cafeteria, finding something to talk about by contemplating how a Gundam Justice League AU might go.

Nerds.

Unlike most of the people in the school, the two usually prepared a lunch ahead of time so they wouldn’t have to deal with the dangers of the mystery meat. They’ve been packing their own meals since middle school, really, so avoiding it wasn’t very hard for them at all. Sure it got kinda stale since the only real mixup to it is the kind of snack they bring to complement their sandwich, but it had to be better than school lunch. Their commute to the cafeteria was stopped up by the commotion at the door. The two peered up over the crowd of growing shoulders, managing to make out that one of the people there seemed to be… Largent!

“Oh, that one dick?” Al asked.

“Hey, yeah, that guy!” Blake responded, “…Oh man, the other guy’s probably dead if that’s actually him!”

Al was just about to ask him if he was going to do something stupid, but Blake was already in motion to go help Richard up. Plan Stupid full steam ahead!
I

am pretty sure it's just Alpha, Beta, Omega.

...What exactly that means at this point, I have no idea.
I remember that being a thing at some of the other schools when I was in high school. Not at mine, though. It was always a seven period day starting from 7:20 and ending at 3. Most people only had to attend 6 of them, though, and seniors especially only went for 5 so they could get out at lunch.

But heck if I know if that was considered the norm then. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

...Gah. Talking about high school makes me feel older than I actually am.
Om, Al, Be... AH

you sly little dog you

I'm ready for lunch whenever everyone else is!
Also, I presume Om, Al, and Be are some sort of alien or test subject? No one has names that.... off.

escuse me, al is a completely normal name

Joking aside, are we really heading to lunch right after this period? Or are we just time skipping up to lunchtime?
