Alf felt like he was carrying his own weight's worth of water. Most of it was in his coat. Since he'd put it on, he'd been wanting to take it off, but he just couldn't be bothered. There was a crisscross of belts and bags and if he was being honest with himself, he didn't remember how to pop the clasps.
By and far, this adventure had been a terrible idea. He thought bringing the bags was stupid in hindsight, but after that incident with Bitch Dragon, he couldn't keep his things in the usual place. They might get burnt up.

He came in from the thunderous rain outside and looked at his bare, clawed feet. Water ran around them. He'd made a right mess of the floor, but there were muddy prints there that weren't his, so he made a snap decision that he didn't give a damn. He didn't need much incentive to forget about it and find a seat.

He hadn't come for drinks or food. He was there to get out of the weather, and because the tavern had been the only observable light. That made it worth investigating. He didn't know where he was, but he was sure that it wasn't The Cat's Way. It wasn't Gotham, either. It was some place new. He'd crossed a threshold between worlds again. Some things just oughtn't be normalized for a guy, but there he was, standing in a tavern, probably in a world he'd never heard the name of.
Got'damn cat. He knew who to blame.
Alf snorted. His lungs were hot. Smoke and water flew away from his nose. He looked like a proper, grumpy monster. He did the thing most befitting of grumpy monsters and found himself a bizarrely large chair in the back, some place the firelight didn't quite reach.

Time to figure out how to get his belts unbuckled and get his kicks giving people needle stares over nothing.

What's this?
Well howdy! This thread is for non-committal, spontaneous Rp. Posting here is usually fast-paced. Scenes end when the players have to go for the night, and often have assumed endings. The next day, someone starts a new scene and the Rp starts fresh! Events from the previous day still carry over, but the story moves on.
The tavern is meant to have a low pressure atmosphere so players feel okay just dipping their toe in for a little while. It's a good place to get your daily Rp fix and go hunting for a new RP partner without having to commit to anything long term.

Okay, what's the setting like?
Mostly fantasy, with a mishmash of other things. The Cat's Tail Tavern sits in a lovely forest, but for our convenience it's been known to have inter-dimensional hiccups. If you can think of a reason for your vanilla human, superhero or space man to be here, then that's fine with us! The setting is flexible so everyone can join.

Can I play?
Yup! You don't have to ask before entering your character. Please read the tips first! It will make your Rp experience smoother.

Tips
- No sympathy fishing. You can stumble in gravely injured if you want to, but don't be angry if the other players overlook it. Sometimes tavern goers just want to have a drink without being interrupted by a guy with arrows in his back. (There's one in every RP, you know? If we rushed to all of them, nobody would get anything else done).

- Be respectful of other players and their space. If they're not feeling an RP with you, let it go.

- Any kind of character is fine. The setting the tavern resides in is fantasy, but we'll take whatever you've got! (Vanilla humans, aliens, dragons, motorcycles, guns. It's all allowed.)

- Be respectful of Rp immersion. (Example: Crashing your dragon OC through the roof in a way that forces everyone to notice you would be considered disruptive, and generally not cool.)

- Keep the OOC atmosphere pleasant (and fairly minimal, OOC should be relevant to Rp.)

A Tomb. (Inter-dimensional, Halloween themed meet and greet Rp).

Howdy!

I'm in the mood for pumpkins, but my OC is not the type that can get up and go trick or treating, so why not tomb?

Proposed setting: A spooky tomb! A place anyone could stumble into from anywhere. This tomb resides in an open world that connects to all worlds, and all times. Your character could walk into it without every realizing they left home! Example: Your character opens their closet door to get a scarf, but oh no! There's no closet. Just tomb.
It's also a very large tomb, and its design is open ended. You would be free to add to it. Think catacombs, dark halls and dusty skeletons.

Proposed thread rules:
- 18+ only. I know it sucks, but this is no budge. We're not gettin' down and dirty here, we just like playing with an older crowd.
- Turns will be casual. If you take too long to post, or it makes sense to skip you, you will be skipped! It's nothing personal. It's healthy for an RP to keep the blood flowing.
- You don't have to ask permission to join, but please respect scene immersion. Don't stumble in full of arrows or throwing water balloons. When in doubt, just ask OOC if you would be interrupting something. That's all we want.
- Give us something to react to. If your character is hiding behind a pillar, ours probably won't notice its there without a clue.
- React realistically. Characters that never get startled would be un-fun in a tomb, unless done creatively.
- OCs, mainstream and fancharacters welcome.
- Chill players required. OOC should stay drama free!
- Shy players welcome here. You guys hiding in the back are often the best players.

For this RP, I'd be offering up Alf (rprepository.com/site.php?char=80197). He's a big boy and other characters might mistake him for a Minotaur type situation. He's harmless, but he doesn't look or act that harmless.


Anyone interested? I would love to get something started tonight after work. (About six hours from the time I post this.)
