@Art: The characters will start off after the event that will drag them into the fantasy world, yes.

@Aix: Yes, there will be lots of Maou. It's the ones that survive the initial purges that will be able to grow and cement their powerbase. Basically think of it like salmon eggs and how many actually get to grow up to become salmon in the first place. Hence simply being a Maou means you're a big old target by most everyone affiliated with Light. >.> <.<

The Mountain Trail Near the Cavern's Exit

"Nya... Rumors are abounding about this particular area of the hunting grounds, with a wyvern that SOUNDS like it belongs in the Elder Dragon class has made its home upon the abandoned temple at the peak of this mountainyao... Sightings and information are scarce, save that this particular one is likely the cause of the Feral Wyvern Virus that's been affecting several of the native species residing on this mountainyao..." The scholarly explorer cat stated as the rather oddly clad Hunters asked for info. Likely they came from a different reason, the Felyne thought after pondering. "The problem is that it has pretty unknown abilities other than infecting lesser wyverns with a disease that spikes aggressionyao and completely shuts down recovering abilities... Theorists believe that it then hunts the infected after they're done raging and unable to fight back, as several corpses of high rank wyverns have been seen scattered here and there..." Then the cat stared at Minato and twitched its whiskers in an affronted (yet strangely cute) manner before turning to the other questioners in a prideful huff that was genetic to all cats, sentient or otherwise.

"Most of this is merely speculationyao... none have been able to explore and confirm this new breed of Elder Dragonyao... due to not returning." The bipedal cat said, staring at the ragtag group for a moment. "A majority of you people aren't even clad in the armors and weapons made from wyverns... either you aren't Hunters or you're extremely new to this..." There was a worried undercurrent in cat's tone as it continued regarding them with worry. "But yet if you made it this far without relying on the fangs and scales of dead wyverns to hunt living ones..." Speculation was churning now, before the cat simply handed over a sheath of papers. Most were of geography, giving the lay of the land while a few showed off the diagram of dragons and notes describing characteristics and other important information. "If you continue your hike, it is imperative that you arm yourselves with knowledge..." Though the tone was calm, those who watched the cat would see its tail wagging back and forth in an excited manner, like a particularly fast metronome. "It might not be the info you're looking for, but it WILL get you as close as possible..."

The Forest

Ranma continued leaping about the place, heading above the tree tops and then actually bounding off several flying wyverns the size of a bus so quickly and agilely that they didn't realize that she had even used them as a launch point. As a result of a particular long horizontal jump, the girl was now bounding up the side of the mountain like a goat would. Nonon would find herself facing a pack of raptors, several small ones and what was obviously the giant pack leader complete with frills and all. As the thing hooted out a sound that was reminiscent of a howler monkey's, a swarm of the other raptors darted out of the clearing and raced towards her in a zerg rush along with their bigger counterpart.

The Steeper Mountain Trail

As the Goa'uld shot his energies at a particularly dense swarm of Lightning Bugs, the things absorbed the power, swelled up, and then simply flumped to the ground in droves as they couldn't handle that much energy. Those that did survive though were now intensely bright and practically brimming with power, though a sizable portion of the swarm was destroyed by that attack. Balalaika's bullet would also find a relatively unarmored spot on the monster's skull and provide a fair bit of concussion before the bullet was bounced off by a skull that could bounce off lesser steel. The sticky substance was just icing on the cake for the Zinogre to continue its well deserved rage. By now, the painful distractions and the poison was influencing the giant canine and making it more prone to aggressive maneuvers due to the pain it was being caused. Howling, several bolts of electricity arced about in a certain radius about the beast as it reared up on its hind legs and began smashing the ground with its giant fore paws as it randomly went after all those that dared attack it, melee with paws and range with ozone searing jolts.

Right, gonna say some ideas I have planned while I continue working on streamlining the game.

Idea: The Maou will end up gaining powers kinda like in a videogame, though via customizable specialization rather than established and inflexible classes. Like they can choose to hammer away at something like say... [Farming] and can end up gaining a skill such as [Animal Husbandry] for their hard work. You can then combine several things together like [Magic] plus [Farming] to get a skill like [Instant Plant Growth] and so on. Successfully doing more difficult things in their specializations means they can have access to higher level skills. Also the Maous will have a headstart in skills they're already good from their time on Earth, since that makes sense.

Well, at the moment a sizable majority of Light is abusing their powers but things aren't like a dictatorship. Rather, they're more like vast organized crime rings like the Yakuza or the Mafia, though with a lot more firepower and publicity. You pay them or else things are going to end up rather bad for you.

On a world of fantasy, an unlikely threat holds populace hostage to their whims with an iron fist: Heroes, Adventurers, and even Churches of Light. After the forces of Darkness had run out of treasures and such to loot, these protectors of humanity turned their sights upon their fellow men and now use their considerable power to rule. Kings and emperors bow to their whims as puppet rulers as these tyrants use their god given powers to prosper from the commoners and nobility alike, striking down any and all dissent with superhuman abilities given to champions corrupted by hubris.

Hope sprung out from an unlikely source though: the sole remaining Demon Lord that held out after his fellows fell. He wasn't as strong as the others but he was a lot smarter, biding his time and gathering resources while attention was riveted somewhere else. Sacrificing himself in a powerful magical ritual, the ambient powers of Darkness were redirected and latched out onto new hosts to become the new Maou: you. Ordinary citizens of a parallel world called Earth.

Seeking out special individuals with above average qualities, dreams, aspirations, and ambitions, the Darkness opened portals to Earth and drag these willing hosts to the fantasy world. Now, these fledgeling Demon Lords must survive in a world where Light is evil and Darkness is not, wielding powers that will grow alongside their own experiences. Will you be able to establish a Dark Kingdom, or die by the blades of the "righteous"? Only you can answer that question.

This is basically a game based off series that run off of not so bad demons akin to Disgaea, along with Hataraku Maou-sama and Maou Maoyuu Yuusha thrown into the mix. The basic premise is that ordinary Earthlings are picked up and thrown into a fantasy land full of dragons, unicorns, talking swords, snarky wizards, and so on to establish a resistance against the tyrannous forces of light. Over the course of the rp, players will gain powers depending on what they do, what their characters are like, and so on which can range anywhere from laser vision to summoning meteors. The goal of the game is to pick up followers, build up a resistance, aid those need help, and maybe establish a Dark Kingdom or two. Also to have fun by engaging in over the top action and shenanigans.

• Maou Arts: The meat of the game. Granted to all Maou by the powers of Darkness, it lets the players create certain special abilities corresponding to a specific field of interest. An example would be the [Sword] arts would grant special techniques accessed by the Maou in question when they wield a weapon that could be defined as a sword, such as [Riposte] or [Parry]. [Cooking] could lead to [Molecular Gastronomy]. Eventually once they get to the higher end of the Maou Arts, they can do ridiculous things like cook up giant flying spaghetti monsters or sword beam castles in half. For the moment though, choose five or less broad areas that the humans could feasibly learn on Earth to start things off and list things corresponding to that subject that could work as a particular technique. Your Maous will be able to learn more as the game progresses.
