I was fortunate that I had a decent amount in savings, so I managed to live off my savings for quite a while before finding steady employment and graduating college, while going part-time and still attempting to have a social life. So yes, in a way, my parents were right, but it's downright ignorant to assume that every 18+ year old will be able to financially stabilize themselves.

It's in my experience that white and red mushrooms are totally safe to eat and should be consumed at every opportunity for good luck, no questions asked.

Only the thorny bits on the head of the mushroom (that's what she said) are psychedelic and can cause convulsions and hallucinations.The red part and stem is not recommended to eat, but won't do anything bad to you.
