Short Biography:As a dragon who was bred and raised in human captivity, Sind grew up to be more human than dragon. Unlike his wilder brethren the grim realities of nature were never that much of a worry. He did not know of the true freedom enjoyed by his brethren in the past. Sind knew only of what his trainers taught him and the whispers of other dragons. Lost to him were the proud heritage of dragons, lost to him was the concept of freedom. Yet even the caged bird sings, for his soul knows what his heart does not. There is always hope.
In Sind hope sprung in the form of simple curiosity, a thing that would stay with him the remainder of life. In a way it was a powerful thing, after all most great things start with a question. Sind would begin to question what his trainers told, but also what he observed in the world around him. Soon he found that questions far outnumbered answers. This realization brought worry, it was just not possible for him to find the answers himself as his trainer and masters would not let him. For the first time he felt the restrictions of captivity, of not being able to follow his heart and will. Still Sind did not fully understand the consequences of this limitation set on him. Instead he devised to discover through other means.
Sind knew that humans were relatively short lived when compared to dragon kind, yet their enormous stores of knowledge astounded him. Although his trainer’s refused to tell him much of anything. He felt that it was wrong to not share knowledge like that. Still there was little he could do, humans were perhaps the only creature who had refused the way of nature and paved his own path with the power of knowledge. So he reasoned the must have a way of sharing knowledge to their young, and if he could find out how he could also gain a morsel of this knowledge.
Eventually through a bit of sneaking around and careful observation, he discovered the secret. Books, therein lay the entirety of all human knowledge. Sind knew that it was impossible for him to get access to books as it were now, at least not under the limitations placed on him. So he decided to escape and finally make a bid for freedom. It took several attempts but he eventually managed to escaped, perhaps the fact that his species of dragon was perhaps amongst the fastest in dragon kind helped him, or perhaps it was his own ingenuity and cunning that helped but finally Sind Azman Telocatl was where he belonged. Free.
But with freedom he also began to realize and face the burdens of freedom, the realities of nature, but those he took on with a grin on face for it was but a small price to pay. As a free dragon, Sind would spend some time learning how to survive in nature, regaining the edge of the wild dragons. The other he used to observe humans, and on how he could get a book.
Within a few years he was ready steal a book, which he did under the cover of night. He sneaked into a human town, and found a book, a small blue book with the image of stars on its covers. He roared with glee as he flew through the night sky a book in his claws. But when he finally reached his nest, and slowly opened the book, knowledge did not suddenly flood him, all he saw were dark marks upon its pages. The book kept its secrets. Sind realized that it may in fact be impossible for him to use a book without the aid of human’s. This in itself would be problematic with his current situation. Luckily it was at this opportune moment that the White Dove Guild found Sind…
