Welp, false alarm everyone. Not completely but it wasn't as bad as I think we were all speculating it'd be. It's pretty much confirmed now that Amethyst is defective to some extent, but that's not really the focus here, today. Amethyst is facing the classic "accomplished rookie gets upstaged and surpassed by more accomplished, newer rookie, and doesn't really know how to handle it". Amethyst works hard to do what she can, and Steven working and surpassing her only makes her feel worse. They both take out their anger on each other (Ame moreso than steven, but it's a little obvious he's working off stress), lightening the air after a good, old fashioned fight. Amethyst wants to prove Japser, another quartz, wrong, and Steven is doing everything he can to live up to the expectations that were set at Rose's level from the get-go. Amethyst, as young as she is, knows that it's not best to talk about Rose, or Steven replacing her, or anything like that, and admits that bringing up her own similar problems was a bad idea.

It was a good episode.

Er. Don't use the cards until you have at least 10 in all skills. A lot of them have requirements of 7,8, or 9 of a skill.

Dangerous: 15 + 2
Persuasive: 18 + 2
I gained 5 levels in Dangerous just from completing a storyline. Storylines are great. Also, do cards whenever possible, they have huge rewards, considering most of them only cost 1 action.

Sidenote: Apparently Amethyst has self esteem issues. She immediately takes it personally when Steven+Connie express their excitement for doing well. That is some 1st Emerald level emotional problems.
