With Konoha to the south, the Hidden Sound to the east and the Hidden Waterfall to the west we have the small Hidden Village of the End, Gobigakure. What's that? Can't find it on a map? Don't know the name of the country? Well, that's part of the problem... The Village Hidden by the End is so small and insignificant that most other ninja villages doesn't recognize it as one. If it was on any map before, someone has erased it. In the entire history of the village it hasn't produced a single ninja worth mentioning. The village sits on the northern cliffs of its country, surrounded by huge rocks that shelters the village from the outside world. The village can only be clearly seen from the sea to the north, called the endless sea by locals. Thus its name, the Village Hidden by the End.
The village is not governed by a kage, like the other hidden villages, neither does it house its own ANBU-force or any other institution that is often present in established ninja villages. It started out as an outpost for the Hidden Cloud, and has always relied on its main village for leadership and protection. The village's only jounin, Hyuuga Hiroshi, acts as leader and is in charge of every ninja in the village. Hiroshi used to be a ninja from Konoha, but was thrown out after a family dispute went sour. He traveled around the world, found Gobigakure and was elevated to the rank of leader almost immediately. Since then he has had his work cut out for him. The village is very poor and lacks many of the commodities that people in the rest of the world takes for granted. Missions are few and far between, most people who can afford it take their business to the bigger villages. Not a single noble ninja family reside in the village, but a few of the more innovative families have developed hijutsu. Bloodline limits are extremely rare, almost unheard of.
Short history: Shortly after the Village Hidden in the Clouds had formed they started to look to the west, toward the Village Hidden in Stone. They feared an attack, and established an outpost on a conveniently placed mass of land. A nearby village provided entertainment for the troops and before long the first of many illegitimate children was born. The children with a talent for ninjutsu were trained by the Kumo ninjas that were stationed there (more for fun than for actual training), and during the first ninja war they helped keep their small patch of land safe. After the war the outpost was scrapped, but the village remained popular in the eyes of Kumo ninjas and with time ninjas from other villages as well. The mild climate and rustic lifestyle made the village a popular site for jounin from all over the ninja world to train their genin. And while they were there more than a few decided to visit the popular burlesque houses, both male and female “entertainers” were available to suit every taste. When the second ninja war came the village was left to its own devices, and took several hard hits. Much of the original village was destroyed, but a few talented doton-users from Kumo created a huge barricade around the village to shield it from harm. That barricade still stands and is the reason why the village is still hidden. After the second war people stopped caring about the small village. The ninjas that were bred and trained there were nothing in comparison to the kind of talent that arose in the rest of the world and its geographical position was suddenly too “out of the way” for leisurely visits. Because of its remote position huge battles have been fought just outside the barricade between Iwa, Kumo and Konoha. Neither have taken the time to secure the village itself first. The village has tried to reestablish communications with Kumo, but have been rejected every time. It has also tried to reach out to Iwa and Konoha, but they didn’t even reply.
Welcome to the Village Hidden by the End, Gobigakure no Sato. You are one of the villages proud ninjas, a chuunin. You are one of the most powerful people in the village, even though it has been a while since you got to show it. You, and some of your friends have grown tired of the way people from other villages treat you, calling you weak, saying that you're not really ninjas. You've decided to leave the village and grow strong out in the real world, you're prepared to do whatever it takes to succeed. You'll show those other villages that Gobi ninjas are a force to be reckoned with, and you'll (attempt to) beat the snot out of anyone who disagrees.
What we want here is a mainly character-focused roleplay with a handful of dedicated players. Although our characters do start out fairly useless, we want the characters to evolve through the game as more and more of the world opens up and becomes known to them. Like in the original show. The setting we’re after is very much like that of the early episodes in the show. That means: Fairly limited power. Very limited knowledge of the world and everything in it. The use of a jutsu can heavily impact, and even turn the tide of a fight. Below you’ll find two videos. One from early Naruto, one from Shippuuden, observe the differences. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e71GRuWMrKk Early. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRF5lcgWC_A Late.
The story takes place eight years after The Second Shinobi War and just a few years before The Third Shinobi War. That makes it about fifteen years before the start of the series.
Appearance: Like most of the Aburame, Aoshi wears the kind of clothes that leaves almost everything to the imagination. In his case, this is a pair of simple dark green pants that covers all of the legs and rests on his feet. On the upper body he wears an old, worn down black coat (now more gray than black) that reaches to Aoshi’s ankles. The coat is of the same style that Akatsuki wore in the series, but without any kind of print or signs on it. The coat is worn closed at most times. Under it he wears a plain, black t-shirt that merely serves as padding between his skin and the dark coat. On his hands, he wears a couple of konoha-gloves. Dark brown hair covers Aoshi’s head, and behind the dark, mirror-glassed sunglasses sits a pair of brown eyes. His face is clean from any growth of beard, and therefore he looks a bit younger than he really is.
Personality: Cool, smart and unpredictable are three very good words that describe Aoshi. Like most of his clan, Aoshi is keen to use strategy and patience instead of careless rushes and trial strategies. Like most Aburame, Aoshi has the kind of strictly introverted personality that makes everyone think that they are kind of weird. He never smiles in public, and rarely says more than the bare minimum to get a point across. The only exception is when he explains his reasoning, the Aburame clan is proud of their deductive skills and calm attentiveness. Explaining how he arrived at a conclusion might be the most fun Aoshi can have in a day. The Aburame-clan’s silence and stiffness has many people believing that they don’t have feelings like other humans do. Nothing could be further from the truth, the Aburame are very passionate about many things, and many people, they simply do not show it in the same way that normal people do.
History: Aoshi was raised as the typical Aburame child. When born, he made a pact with the Kikaichu, and has worked with them inside his body ever since. As for growing up, not much can be said; he was raised to be a good ninja, trained with his parents almost every day, and studied all manner of bugs in his free time. He paid attention in class when he was signed in to the academy, and became a genin at age 11. Was assigned to a three man cell together with a Hyuuga named Soto and a clanless sensor. The Hyuuga and Aoshi instantly got off on the wrong foot. No one expected any less, the Hyuugas never really liked the Aburame. However, this animosity proved to be very valuable to the team as the two boys pushed each other to always be better than the other. The girl of the team, Amayo Sora, didn’t come from an established ninja clan, but possessed an incredible talent for sensing and suppressing her own chakra. She was the kind of warm, inclusive and friendly character that the team desperately needed to avoid a catastrophe. They were destined to become one of the most potent sensor-teams in Konoha’s history. Then the chuunin-exam came...
Other:
There is a deep-rooted hate between these two clans, mostly from the Hyuugas. Over the years the Aburame have tried to figure out why that is, this is what they’ve come up with: The Hyuugas fancy themselves as an ancient royal family, but much like insects and mammals, the Aburame is older than the Hyuuga. The Hyuugas believe themselves to be the most capable sensors in Konoha, and it seriously pisses them off when they rush into the Hokages office with news only to hear the Aburame that beat them to it say, with nothing but brutal honesty “We know”. Last but not least, there is nothing that separates the Aburame’s Kikaichu from those living in the wild. Even with the Byakugan it is impossible to tell if Konoha is just full of bugs, or if the Aburame is setting up an attack.

Weapons/Items:
Description: Parasitic Destruction Insects) are a species of small, beetle-like insects that are bred and utilised exclusively by the Aburame clan, forming the basis for their unique techniques.
Hundreds of years ago, before the five villages, before most ninja clans were properly established, when the world was still in an eternal turmoil of a chaotic ninja war on all fronts, a wounded ninja sought refuge in a cave. She was nothing special, and bore no more likeness to the Aburame of today than her name. The cave, she quickly realized, were filled with tiny bugs. They were nothing special either, very much like woodlice, their role in the hierarchy of nature was a bit fuzzy. Too tired to care, och too wounded to leave the cave Aburame settled down and simply let the tiny bugs crawl over her as they pleased. As she stayed in the cave for several days she developed a simple way of communicating with the queen of the bugs. They had been forced into the cave as well, booted out of the natural order and were only waiting to become extinct. They were nothing special as insects goes, and that was their folly. But she saw something in them. By allowing them to feed on her chakra they got an immediate energy boost and from one single feeding their numbers could multiply several times. Their short lives also meant that they could evolve new abilities in a matter of hours or days instead of the years, decades or centuries it would take for humans to do the same. Aburame therefore proposed a trade. She would personally make sure that the bugs would have a place to live, in exchange for the use of the soldier bugs as weapons.

Jutsus: Canon:
Name of Technique: Kikaichuu (no jutsu) Type of Jutsu: Ninjutsu, offensive, defensive, supplementary. Rank: Unknown. Range: Any range. Nature Type: None. Description: The Parasitic Destruction Insect Technique is a practice exclusive to the Aburame clan. This technique gives the Aburame control over the insects that are nesting inside their bodies. While the insects can work independently, their memory is quite limited and can only remember and/or perform a task that can be stated in one sentence. Weakness: The bugs themselves are not very hardy, but their short lives makes them replaceable.
Name of Technique: Mushi bunshin (no jutsu) Type of Jutsu: Ninjutsu, supplementary. Rank: C Range: Any range. Nature Type: None. Description: A bunshin (clone) made from a swarm of Kikaichuu. This removes the range limitation that normally affects clones, but also makes the clone unable to speak or perform any jutsus that are not taijutsu. Weakness: Unable to speak, unable to perform ninjutsu.
Name of Technique: Mushi kawarimi (no jutsu) Type of Jutsu: Ninjutsu, defensive. Rank: E Range: Short-mid. Nature Type: None Description: Basically your standard body replacement technique, but instead of replacing yourself with a log or something like that, the user leaves behind a small swarm or Kikaichuu. Weakness: The swarm is really too small to do any real damage on itself. Might be a waste of bugs.
Name of Technique: Mushi shunshin (no jutsu) Type of Jutsu: Ninjutsu, supplementary. Rank: D. Range: Short-mid. Nature Type: None. Description: The user will disappear in an instant, allowing him to attack and retreat swiftly. While this happen, his body looks like it’s turning into a swarm of swiftly scattering or gathering bugs. Weakness: None.
Name of Technique: Mushi Jamingu no jutsu Type of Jutsu: Ninjutsu, supplementary. Rank: D Range: Long. Nature Type: None. Description: An Aburame counter-sensor technique. The user will spread kikaichuu over a large area. The insects will then project chakra signatures which makes it hard for a sensor-type to distinguish which signature is real and which is fake. Weakness: Requires a large amount of Kikaichuu to leave the user, thus leaving less to protect the user from direct harm.
Custom:
Name of Technique: Aburame style, punch. Type of Jutsu: Taijutsu, offensive. Rank: C. Range: Close. Nature Type: None. Description: The Aburame clan is not known for their taijutsu, and rarely train much in it. To counter an eventual close combat-situation the Aburame tend to favor one-hitters which aim to knock their opponent back. The idea is to “Hit first, hit hard, retreat”. Weakness: While the punch packs a good portion of power it is predictable and easy to dodge or counter for a skilled taijutsu artist.

@Misses Lamb I know that this might be kind of a dumb question in the 1x1-forum, but how much romance and such are you going for? Personally I don't mind doing a game with only two players, it can even be better than with a whole group. I'm not very talented when it comes to doing romance and couple-stuff, so I might not be the ninja you're looking for.
So, I've skimmed through the characters we have for the moment and something hit me. It's not really that easy to find specific info about the monster that has marked our characters. May I suggest that we get a new category at the bottom (or somewhere) where we write down stuff about it? It could be really useful once we start playing and need to access info about these things, reading through the whole backstory takes too long (lazy-ass me).
Name: Seth of Valeria. (Technically the Duke of Valeria) Age: 21. Gender: Male.
Personality: The most apparent feature of Seth’s personality is his charisma. He is a true nobleman, able to charm people left and right. He has a way with worlds and a sort of natural authority that makes people pay attention to him. On top of this, he also has IT. No one can specify or explain what IT is, yet everyone know. Something about him makes women weak, and men jealous of his very being. IT does not work on everyone, but a surprising amount of people will either like or dislike Seth on a first glance because of it. Coupled with his own natural charm and charisma, Seth can often choose whether he will spend the night alone or with someone.
Born a nobleman, Seth was handed the world on a silver platter. He is used to getting what he wants and can sometimes act very childishly. while he is an educated and intelligent man, he is emotionally immature and sometimes very naive.
Backstory: The house of Valeria was once strong and influential. We were noblemen, rich, beautiful, powerful. Then the Nightkin came. First they laid siege to the estate of Valeria, cutting off all communications with the outside world. We endured their fear. They climbed the walls and attacked our soldiers. We battled their onslaught. They ran through the estate, slaying our servants with their claws and fangs and horns. We defended the weak. They killed my beloved. I fell into despair.
Seth of Valeria was born as the third son of Duke Thors III of Valeria. As the third son, Seth was never destined to take over the title, estate or fortune of his father. All that was meant for his oldest brother, Ian. The second son was to be educated, he would become a priest and a spiritual leader for every man and woman in Valeria. The third son would get nothing. In order for him to live a life of dignity and relative comfort he was promised a position as officer in the army, it came with a price, but it was nothing for a Duke. While his brothers learned how to become gentlemen, quote poems and dance, Seth was taught how to fight with a longsword, ride a warhorse and plan strategies to win battles. He lived well, got along with his brothers and sisters and his parents. The siblings would often keep each other company on their spare time and pass along any insight or lesson they had been taught. They could talk about poetry for hours, even Seth who only learned through his siblings. They could spar, ride, talk politics and gossip. Over all, it was a very good life, and Seth never realised just how sheltered they were until it was too late.
One day when Seth was 16, he found himself engaged to the daughter of another nobleman. Her name was Elena. They had met before and was quite taken with each other. Life was good. One night shortly after the engagement Seth was wandering about the estate, as he used to do every now and then. This night he came across a strange man in one of the hallways. It was a tall, handsome man with dark hair and strangely piercing eyes. His clothes were all black and made from a strange material that made them flow and tumble around in the non-existing breeze, but without making any sound. They stood watching each other in silence for a moment. Seth too surprised to act, and the stranger watching with interest. To relieve the tension Seth did what he always did and smiled, he got a smile in return, but that smile held no friendship. Then a thought hit the young noble. They had no guests at the moment, and only a skeleton crew on hand during the night. This person was an intruder. As he called out the intruder with a loud cry, the stranger swiftly produced a rapier from his belt and advanced with almost impossible speed. Being caught without a weapon handy Seth grabbed the first thing he could think of, a chair, and hurled it with all his might at his assailant. The stranger, however, barely seemed to notice the obstacle and cleared it with a leap that had him almost touching the roof. He came down with a stab, and caught Seth just above the heart. The nobleman screamed out in pain and grabbed the blade to pull it out, but the stranger pushed much harder than him. Footsteps, rustling armor and weapons. The stranger pulled out his sword after an eternity and slapped Seth over the head with the dull side of it. He woke up in his bed, the servants had found him alone, bleeding, in the hallway. It was a small wound, and it had already stopped bleeding when the sun came up. When the sun went down, the wound had formed the mark. That following night would be forever burned into Seth’s memory as the Night of Demons.
I remember it like it happened just yesterday, even though I was only a boy. 16 years old, not yet a man. I was engaged to a beautiful woman, Elena. We were in love and was to be married later that year, when the leaves turned red. But the demons broke the walls and stormed the city. My father was among the first who fell, my brother came next. My master drew his sword and rushed head first into the advancing horde. His every strike, stab and sweep felled one of the Nightkin, to him they did not matter. His blade kept moving even if it had to cut several of the beasts in one swing. A truly magnificent sight. But there was no time to enjoy his swordsmanship this day. He had attacked so furiously for only one reason, to buy me some time to get Elena out through the secret passage. But they had found it first.
As I gently lowered my beloved down into the hidden tunnel that would take her to the edge of the city, to safety, she was pulled down into the darkness. I heard her scream echo in the darkness. With my father’s sword, the blade of Valeria, in my hand I went in after her. The tunnel was big, dark and empty, so I ran. I knew the maze by heart and ran for the exit as fast as I could. Suddenly I heard steps up ahead and the whimper of my beloved. I held my sword high and yelled “Let her go free, fiends! Face me!”
Then they came at me. I could not say how many they were, I just started to cut them down. Like my master had shown me, I kept the blade in motion, I let it cut through the enemy without hesitation and spilled the blood of many fiends that day. When the Nightkin were slain I looked around for my beloved. I found her bleeding and dying further along the tunnel. The beasts had put a blade through her chest. We were alone, I could hear the chaos above, people running, screaming, trying to get away, but we were truly alone. I tore a piece of her dress and tried to stop the bleeding. I sincerely believed that if I could just keep the blood inside her we’d find someone who knew what to do outside the tunnel. The bleeding would not stop. I tried everything, but the blood just kept coming. After a while she reached up, touched my cheek and left me behind.
I carried her lifeless body out of the dark tunnel and away from Valeria, I did not stop until we came to the closest village. They helped me bury her under a tree, She had always loved trees.
After the night of demons everything that mattered was gone. Seth went back to Valeria a few days later, but the estate was in ruins. Bodies everywhere, even the cattle and dogs had been slain. He was all alone, everything from his former life was either dead or burned. He had no skills that would earn him money to stay alive except his sword and hatred of the Nightkin. He gathered as much money as he could carry, and a few heirlooms that he couldn’t let the looters have, and left. Seth of Valeria became a mercenary, taking every mission he could to scrape together a few coins, of course favouring those that involved slaying Nightkin or aiding those in need.
He met the stranger many times between the Night of Demons and now, and found out who, or what he is. A Vampire named Talon. Talon would stay in the shadows, occasionally letting himself be seen by Seth and/or other humans. Every now and then he will watch as Seth seduces a fair maiden and brings her into his chamber for the night. Come morning, she will be gone.
Equipment: Seth does not carry much equipment. While he is a reasonably intelligent man, he doesn’t trust that voodoo-stuff with his life. He carries: The Blade of Valeria - A twohanded sword passed down the Valeria family for generations. A dagger - For close combat stabbing. Chainmail - Great for making it through the night. Heavy gauntlets - These gauntlets can easily stop a blade or similar attacks. Valerian locket - A gold locket with the picture of his sister in it. A small pack with necessities such as food, some money, tools for maintaining his weapons and his clothes.
Other: Though quite unusual, Seth has a kind of relationship with “his” Nightkin. They meet every now and then, talk, fight, stare, make faces… Seth is aware what kind of a monster he has been marked by. Despite the fact that Seth regularly picks out Talon’s next victim, he cannot stop seeking attention and comfort from the breasts of women.
Being a nobleman and relatively well brought up, Seth minds his speech. He will never use contracted words (such as can’t) and will always pronounce the whole thing (cannot).
