Nori Hisakawa
Red Sages

Nori rushed past Yudai as he dealt with the first guard in front of them. He hadn't gone for an immediate killing blow, but being pinned on a spike was plenty enough for him to get by. It was rather fortunate that the other two guards seemed scared straight to hell by Seijo's spores, and he guessed that the one who actually stood up to Yudai was the only one who really gave a damn about it. Which made dealing with the other two that much easier. They had decided to huddle themselves up at the vault door as their last stand, as far away from the scary people as possible.

Well, Nori didn't feel like being a damn pushover this time. He ran up to the two of them, making quick handsigns. Water Release: Water Bowl! briefly went through his mind as he blasted the two of them with a quick burst of water. It seemed harmless enough, and the shinobi probably weren't planning on dodging a light spray, until they both stumbled, caught off-guard by the immediate follow-up of the Aquatic Bone Suffering genjutsu. It was all of the opening he needed, as he kicked one away from him and grabbed the other one by the throat, perhaps for a second, maybe two. Kingdom of the Eastern Seas. The shinobi coughed once before collapsing, twitching and unconscious on the ground as he let go of him. The one he had kicked aside was staggering up to his feet, eyes widening at the unusual sight, distracted as Nori rushed over and stabbed him through the gut with a quickly-drawn naginata. He flung the body off of the weapon towards Seijo's side of the room. Maybe he'd even get to suffer in her spores, not that he'd be surviving a blade through the gut with numbed up muscles.

"I'm setting up the bomb, everyone!" Nori shouted, placing the bomb on the vault door and taking the steps necessary to activate it. He decided to just leave the shinobi he had knocked out with Kingdom of the Eastern Seas next to it; he'd get to have a slightly flashier death than his comrades. With the bomb up, he turned and bolted back towards Yudai; if he was still having trouble with the last shinobi, he could cut him down from behind. Not that the remaining fodder was what he was concerned about. He was far more concerned of what Seijo's definition of "contained explosion" was, and just wanted to have distance between himself and the oncoming blast.

Nori almost audibly groaned. A backup door. Of course, why wouldn't there be one? It was two nearly legendary weapons of the past, one of which apparently had some latent power within it. At least it didn't seem as though this one would be taking a Senju Chakra Nuke to blow through, so it was more a matter of just how much longer it would take instead of if they could or couldn't. Seijo answered his mental question though with her plan, and gave him the new orders. Kill the backup coming in from the VTOL, grab the stuff once the second vault door was down, and get out. Basically what the mission plan was already, with a few extra bodies on top.

As he stepped up behind the two jounin, he was already thinking about the possible upcoming fight, and the possibilities that could arise. "Anzai, if I have to set up some mist to even the odds against these reinforcements, would that hinder you at all? I'll try to contain it to one section of the warehouse to avoid hindering Yudai and Lady Tametomo, but it would make me feel better to know that I'm providing an advantage to at least someone besides myself."
@NeroI edited my post to suit your copy+pasted late one. Don't worry about changing it now.

Red Sages

The three Red Sages hadn't spoken for long, but Yudai had given him a little something extra to worry about; Seijo had brought him along because he had apparently thrashed the shinobi on the stairwell. By the time Nori had a chance to comment on it though, he had taken his leave. He didn't try to stop him. Coming out in the open like that must have been difficult enough, and he didn't need him any more stressed by tomorrow. He decided to just do the same, take Seijo's example and get some rest. Nori had already cleaned himself up and had his equipment prepared for tomorrow, so he didn't really have any reason to stay awake. As he laid down though, he found himself staring at the space above him, his thoughts wandering, as is often the case after a soldier's mission. Seijo had only given the briefest of explanations as to why she wanted him on the mission, because he had decided to hang back and protect the rear rather than charge in for glory. But he also didn't do anything exemplary. He just took up the position he thought was best, and returned to his commanding officer with rather average information. He also didn't have any specific techniques that had stood out to her; she stated outright that she didn't know his capabilities. So... why him, on what she had said was the most important mission?

Stealing Madara Uchiha's gunbai, and Sasuke Uchiha's sword. I don't know what you plan on doing with these, Seijo Tametomo, but I hope your decision is the right one.

It was possible that Nori was the first one out of his room when Seijo had come knocking. He had gone ahead and geared up early, warmed himself up with some light exercise, and by that afternoon, was mentally going over the pictures of the warehouse district she had displayed last night. He could have left at any moment's notice. "Already am, Lady Commander." He stood up, checked his scarf, strapped on his naginata, and went out to meet her in the hallway. She hadn't waited a moment after they had all gathered, and within minutes they were making their way to Amegakure. His doubts from last night were quelled, and replaced with him considering the capabilities of his allies. Which he knew very little about, considering last night's brief conversation.

Anzai he knew little about, since he hadn't even seen him on the mission. However, you don't get to be a capable jounin while blind without some intriguing capabilities. He would be safe to use the Hiding in Mist Technique around, since he didn't need his eyesight. It'd have to be us separated from Seijo and Yudai by a decent distance, however. Yudai, well, he couldn't be certain. Whatever Seijo thought he was capable of was a degree above his actual abilities, and now the Lady Commander had an overestimated shinobi on their side. Regarding Seijo, he just knew to stay out of her way. Her skills were the ones people paid the most attention to; she was the commander, after all. The idea would just be to stay the hell away from her Fungal Release if she needed to go all-out. Thoughts like these would plague his mind on their trip.

So far, everything was going as planned, optimal and efficient. Perhaps Lady Tametomo brought a satchel of good luck charms, he thought with mild amusement as they stationed themselves atop one of the warehouses. He took a comfortable breath of the air. Perhaps the endless rain from ages past had ceased, but the climate here left plenty of room for showers, and there was a comfortable humidity in the air. It vaguely reminded him of home. Not that he had any intention of going on a nostalgia trip. They were at work, after all, and Seijo had just tossed Nori her little pouch of luck.

Until she explained what it was.

"A Senju-chakra enhanced bomb? And here I had thought you just had some extra supplies. Well, I'll do my best. I do hope this thing works properly though. I'd rather not have that "Contained explosion" blow up the whole lot of us. Is there any backup plan in case this explosive happens to fail though, Lady Commander?" Even as he asked, he walked up just behind her, tucking the pouch at his side and drawing his naginata. He was ready to commence the mission. He wasn't questioning her authority, that much was clear in his voice. It just wasn't every day that you dealt with an explosive of this caliber. What he did do though, was give Yudai a sidelong glance and a nod. They would be working together, and Seijo wasn't aware of the capabilities of either of them. Now or never was the time to prove that she was right in picking them. Maybe I should have let the Lady Commander know the truth about him. I'm not sure if I'm being generous to him, or have just thrown him into a fire.

One last thought entered his head though, a little thread of amusement as he stepped forward. It's the First Hokage versus Madara Uchiha all over again it seems.

Nori looked over at Anzai for a moment, sitting down at the seat Seijo had offered him. "Nori. Nori Hisakawa, if you wanted a more formal introduction." He waited before continuing, only giving Yudai a nod of greeting while Seijo continued her ranting. It was a bit relieving to listen to; she was sounding less like a glorified commander, and more like a shinobi on their footing. Well, perhaps still slightly above them. There was definitely some arrogance in there, but nowhere near the levels of Mikoto, or as she had just implied, Anzai. She finally topped it off with the simple announcement that she was going to go get some rest, with an offhand comment about how their names had a tinge of similarity.

"Well, her presence was short-lived, although I'm guessing that have a blast means more along the lines of, get to know each other while you have the chance. Not necessarily an order, but I agree with Yudai; I wouldn't mind knowing who I'm fighting alongside." Nori looked to Anzai, raising a curious eyebrow, although he figured that his facial expression meant little to the man. "You're blind, then? Between the cane and keeping your eyes closed like that, hopefully I'm not being rude with that assumption. It's really either that, or you are dedicated to giving off some sort of mysterious impression, which would be terribly ridiculous."

Nori took his gaze from Anzai, looking over to Yudai now, a little less intrigued. "I recognize you better, Yudai. You went right in with the Lady Commander on the earlier mission, and were one of the first to catch up with her during the retreat after Mikoto and I. Seems as though she's rather impressed with your performance, and humility. Ah, but forgive me."

Nori spread his arms and nodded his head in a mild apology. "Sorry, I didn't mean to rant like this. Just trailed off while stating my mind. Feel free to speak now." He was genuine about it. He had gone from wanting to start a conversation to throwing out his personal analysis; he wanted to hear what they had to say more than he wanted them to listen to him.

Nori was attentive for the meeting, albeit quiet, although he couldn't help but raise an amused eyebrow at Mikoto upon his declaration of giving the Uchiha girl a "beautiful death," as he so eloquently put it. Arrogant and confident, just as he had fought in the field. It reminded him a little bit of his younger training, back before Kirigakure was leveled by the war. Yes, time had soothed the bloodlust instilled in their shinobi, but they certainly didn't try to make them as gentle as Konohagakure's. He subconsciously ran a tongue over his teeth; pointed. Somewhere among his ancestors there was one of the old Seven Swordsmen, and it garnered a good amount of attention from his teachers. Son of a talented hunter-nin and that made you a popular guy among jounin. Considering how adequately he had fought in the Hiding in Mist, perhaps the redhead was from the area as well.

Not that it made much difference. His thoughts were properly realigned as soon as Seijo slapped down the clipboards and laid down the law. She went to what seemed like the most important mission first. Going straight into enemy territory to steal Madara Uchiha's Gunbai and Sasuke Uchiha's chokuto. Well that certainly sounded like a rough time, and he wasn't surprised that it was her own mission. No doubt she'd be bringing her highest class shinobi along to--

“Yudai, Nori and god forbid Anzai. You're all with me."

There was a part of Nori that wanted her to hurry and finish so he could interject. After his subpar performance on the last mission, which consisted of keeping an eye on the back lines, helping a handful of Red Sages, and nearly getting put out by some Hyuga runt trying to save Mikoto. All he had to show for it was some information she didn't really care about, and a flamboyant braggart. But...

He slipped up his scarf a bit and let himself smile a little wider than usual behind the cloth, and the slight ache in his side seemed to go away of its own accord. Two legendary weapons for the Red Sages, right out from under the Confederate's noses? How could I pass up something this exhilarating? Nori thought to himself, a little more excited than he expected of himself.

He didn't dawdle after the meeting, heading straight back to his room to prepare. A fresh mail, leggings, sandals. He usually didn't bring along shuriken and kunai, but he went ahead procured a few and set a pouch aside. He considered sitting down right then and getting to work on fixing up another spare naginata for tomorrow, but he felt an ache in his stomach that finally wasn't from getting smacked. They had been out on an intensive mission for a good portion of the evening, and his appetite had caught up with him. He was still dressed as he had been for the meeting, so he didn't need to dawdle and clean up as he went to the mess hall and grabbed himself a basic meal, idly noticing Seijo talking to another shinobi. Anzai, was it? He hadn't memorized everyone's names yet, sans Mikoto, Yudai, and Katsuko (hard to not recognize him).

Well, might as well try to make himself look a little more competent to Seijo, and meet Anzai properly. He went ahead and made his way over to join the two of them, missing her speech, although she seemed rather stern about whatever she had said. "If I'm not interrupting, may I join the two of you? We may as well have a meal together before we fight together."

Red Sages

Nori didn't miss it; the Lady Commander was simply going through the motions with him. He had probably sounded like an idiot, making a big deal out of a single kekkei genkai. Plenty of them existed within the Confederation, and plenty of them existed in the Red Sages. Why would one make a huge difference, at the end of it all? Maybe it was just a good enough reason for me to escape that fight, an excuse to retreat. I shouldn't need one...it was just the rational decision. Did I just want to seem like less of a coward, compared to the Red Sages I hadn't managed to save? The ones who had fought and died in their battles? He took a moment to look over at Mikoto again, before shaking his head a little. That fight, the enemy general, this mission...the stress must be really getting to me. I should accept that I did all I could. I saved a few good men, and learned a few new things. I can't expect to look like a veteran on day one. His thoughts were shifted over to another shinobi joining up alongside himself, Seijo and Mikoto. He didn't know the man's name, but he noticed his behavior of sticking near the Lady Commander. Perhaps he felt protective of her.

"I suppose it could have been worse. Mikoto here--" He had just announced his name, so Nori finally had a name to place alongside the redhead's face, "--and myself ended up in a rather one-sided fight against several Confederate shinobi that felt more competent than the majority. We survived though, so I suppose that's what counts. Yourself?"

Once Yudai had responded, he turned his attention back to Seijo. "Commander Tametomo, perhaps the information is less critical than originally implied, in the grand scheme of things. I only wish to bring it up based on how it somewhat resembled your own kekkei genkai, in that an area around the user becomes extremely hazardous for another to battle in. The shinobi was surrounding himself in a fairly large pool of what appeared to be liquefied silver. Presumably, he can do whatever he pleases with it. Personally, I experienced him launching it at me as a projectile, and managing to create a makeshift fan out of it, pushing away some of the mist from the Hiding in Mist Technique. Alone, it appears to be manageable, but several of them, depending on the limits of the ability, could be extremely hazardous to deal with. In comparison, a large group of enemy shinobi with your Spore Release would be able to swarm a base, and no-one vulnerable to the technique would be able to escape." Nori took a breath once he was finished, looking ahead again. There was little more to say on the matter. If she had anything to say about it, she would probably ignore it until later.

Nori was relieved to be back at base, and wasted no time in heading back to his quarters to inspect his wound and slip into something more comfortable. His mouth turned when he slipped off the chain mesh under his shirt; Higoho's palm had barely even clipped him, and he had a really nasty bruise. He poked at it gingerly, wincing a bit, but no extremely sharp pains meant he hadn't suffered any internal damage worth getting checked. At worst, he'd just have to avoid getting tickled and laughing himself into agony. He could fight just fine by now.

He was already guessing that Seijo would be gathering the recruits up for some sort of meeting. A mission review, or perhaps a follow-up mission in the field. His consideration was confirmed when the announcement was handed out that everyone head to the conference room. No rest for the weary, he thought, not really sour about it. The beds were a luxury; the Red Sages could sleep when they were dead. So, he grabbed himself a half-minute shower, threw on some black slacks, a navy blue stripped button-up shirt, and his scarf. He decided to slip on his shinobi sandals instead of casual shoes, and collapsed his naginata and hung it on a cord over his shoulder, just in case something very impromptu was going on. He didn't really bother giving his hair much thought, and made his way to the meeting room. He wouldn't be late, but he wouldn't beat anyone who hadn't bothered to take a moment to clean up and had rushed their way there ASAP.

When he arrived, he found himself a seat and kept quiet as Seijo asked if they had anything to report. He had already told her what he knew on the way back to base, and found himself feeling all the more foolish for it. Being on this side of the war has me feeling like a genin all over again, he thought, a little disappointed in himself for his amateur behavior. It didn't matter now. Best to just listen to what the others had to say.

Red Sages

Nori looked over as another Red Sage caught up to them, and his eyebrows raised a bit as he recognized him immediately. The redhead who almost got himself ganged by all of those Confederate shinobi. He didn't know who the man was fighting before, but he felt like the fight was at a different level than most other scuffles. A slight sigh of relief escaped Nori; at least he managed to save him.

"You're that redhead from the fight before. There was an Uchiha there was well? You might want to consider watching your flank a little bit better next time. There's a very real chance you would have died, considering how many more capable Confederate shinobi decided to show up." Nori wasn't trying to sound arrogant, or spiteful; he was just stating the facts. The fight was more than double the odds against them together. Alone, Nori didn't see much hope of a chunin like him surviving against that, especially considering that Mikoto might have decided to stay and fight. "It's good to see you made it out alright, despite all of that."
@GrafRoy Zeppeli+1 likes for not disappointing your senpai.
@SavatoI'll regretfully admit that I did it a little with Nori, since it's my first forum RP in years, but only to the degree of age and sexuality, just to make it a little easier on myself mentally, so I can go about the character's thought process without needing to think, "Oh wait this character is probably too young/old to do this/that." Not that I couldn't, just that I didn't. Otherwise, nah.

EDIT: Well, maybe this wasn't the best thing to mention ever, but honesty over pride. Just hope I don't get the shaft for it.
