A bit of both. I didn't have as many issues with the character (personally I have no real issues), just the way that Arcane is defined in this RP is a lot more broad than "doing the magics."

And yes, it's also a joke about how the character is a story-changing inconsistent crazy boy.

Appearance: Ebenezer is six foot tall. He has medium length brown hair and a beard-mustache combo that is neatly kept. He has dark green eyes, nearly black. He has fair skin from spending lots of time indoors. He typically dressed in a suit or work casual. He always wears long sleeves, gloves, and a scarf to cover as much skin as possible. Under the clothes are carved symbols in his skin. Most appear to be nonsense, but others are arcane symbols found in the uncharted places in the world.

Personality: Most people say Ebenezer is crazy. Despite his sane appearance he has been known to mumble to himself about demons and to talk to nothing. He is a very secretive person and tends to lie a lot. Each time he tells a story it changes just a little. The common opinion is that nothing he says it true. Which leads into his paranoia, he claims Demons are after him. He also claims he has a Demon enslaved to his will that travels with him. Of course no one has ever seen it. Despite this Ebenezer is a very likable man. He's witty and pleasant conversationalist.

History: Each story he tells of his past changes. But a few details do always remain the same in every telling. It always starts with death and demons.

When I was young, just a little boy, my family was killed by demons. They came during the night. I still remember hearing my parents scream. I shared a room with my brother, despite the fact my parents were extremely wealthy. When the screaming started I panicked, crawled under my bed and hid.

My brother was always braver than I. He as three years older than me and my protector. He didn't hide as I did, despite my please for him not to go. When he left the room I cried, even as my parents stopped screaming. The silence afterwards was oppressive. I nearly almost wished for the screaming to come back. It must have given my brother pause too for he lingered at the door.

After what seemed like an eternity I could finally hear his foot steps tread down the hallway, bare feet on wood. I hid my head in my arms and wept for my brother, sure that he would die.

The silence stretched, then I too heard him scream. Thankfully his was short lived. I huddled even further under my bed when I heard a strange noise. It wasn't the sound of feet, or boots. It was a strange scratching noise and the sound of something heavy being dragged. I didn't dare look, couldn't, for I was frozen in fear as the noise grew closer and closer to my bedroom door.

I prayed, for the first time in my life, that I might be spared.

It must have worked for the thing snuffed at my door before moving onto my sister's room. I don't remember them screaming, nor the rest of the night. When the servants rose to get the house ready in the morn, they discovered my family. And the blood. It took them two days to even realize I had hid in my room and was still alive...

From there the story would go on to explain how he got started on his path to being a demonologist. Some tales recount how he ventured into the unknown and lived there, learning secrets from the land itself. Other telling told the story of him learning under a wealthy eccentric who had studied Demons before him.

Whatever the case, he ended up in Arcadia, studying in a very prestigious university, which was also funding his trip into the unknown.

History: Lloyd was the youngest child of poor parents. He was five when his father killed his mother and then himself. His older brother was twelve and subsequently went mad. He drowned himself in the tub after they were taken in my their aunt. His older sisters had been off at school and as far as Lloyd ever heard married up the ladder into advantageous unions. Lloyd himself went a little crazy too.

He began carving symbols into his skin with whatever he could find. His aunt eventually didn't care when he ran away, relieved to be done with the troubling boy.

Lloyd ended up on the streets where he cemented the idea of demons. On the streets is where he "summoned" up the Imp that still travels with him. When he reached his middle teen years, he came under the attention of the Council of Magic and Arcane Science for spreading rumors of Demons. At first the CMAS thought him mad. However as they caught him once and studied his markings that changed. Some of the markings were pure nonsense. However some of them could be found elsewhere in the world, in the uncharted places, origins unknown. It was possible Lloyd had seen them before, but they were perfect scale replicas.

Doubt crept into the minds of the Arch Mages that maybe Lloyd wasn't mad. However Lloyd slipped their grasp and escaped before they could truly determine his sanity. He reappeared as a young man in the capital studying at the post prestigious university. However, due to his backing by the school and a wealthy noble, the CMAS watched Lloyd, now going by Ebenezer quietly.

Lloyd's paranoid seems to stem from the CMAS and their diligence and watching him. After all, he is actually being followed.
So your character isn't a Diver? Because the IC kind of is going to be centered around Divers, outside of special cases and NPCs.

Magical Capabilities: It's possible Lloyd has a innate ability to use either Ki or Arcane abilities. Or he just might be insane. It's hard to say because he knows some things he should know. For example, sometime he says he sent Imp to look at something, and knows what a (chart/book/something) might say, having never seen it. Other times he's just plain wrong. Sometimes he also can predict an event that will happen, but more often he's wrong. Just coincidence?

If he were to find a powerful relic or certain info, he would make sure it would not end up with the wrong person.

A body mod would likely be a lot more specific than the most basic side effect of high Ki, which is enhanced durability and strength. The not-a-body-mod part doesn't need to be specified.

Seems legit. Very basic explanation on what exactly the "hammer" is though. Might want to add size, shape, etc.

Sulfrax is a somewhat short individual for a man, standing at 5'7" and weighing only about 110lb. His skin is very pale, with bright silver eyes, and a very recognizable bright magenta hair, kept somewhat short, barely covering his ears and the back of his neck, with hardly any bangs covering his forehead. His garb is very traditional of a mage, especially from Hyznia. He's commonly seen in a deep, deep blue hooded robe, almost black, and somewhat oversized for him, with the hood hanging slightly over his eyes and the base occasionally dragging along the ground. His arms and legs are covered up past the elbows and over the knees in leather straps, adorned with several arcane runes, although his sleeves hang past his hands usually, so it isn't always apparent. Regardless of this, he is a well-recognized presence across all of the Nations, a powerful Arch Mage responsible in the ability to create the arcane node being used for the survey and expansion projects.

Personality: "If you want to chase dreams, then go back to sleep. If you want to achieve ambitions, then get back to work."
Sulfrax is extremely detached and calculative. His only ambitions at this point seem to be towards furthering the knowledge of the arcane, and towards enhancing his already infamous magical prowess. While he is more widely known as a brilliant mind and an example for those with ambitions of power and knowledge, over the past several years he has gradually faded from the public eye, his known deeds rarely mentioned, and himself becoming more of a recluse, both politically and personally. His mental stability is often called into check, and his continued study of the arcane has gone from diligent to obsessive. He will change both moral views and objectives seemingly at a whim, as long as they meet the criteria of benefiting himself, or arcane knowledge as a whole.

History:Sulfrax was a well-respected and famous Arch Mage, directly responsible for the ability to create a synthetic arcane node. Ten years prior, Arcadia announced it's creation of a functioning synthetic arcane node. At this same time, the famous arch mage became infamous. He was taken off of development teams, slowly stripped of authority, and fell from the public eye, at a pace that garnered questions from very few. None are sure why this has happened, but regardless, Sulfrax's impact on the magical community over the years remains. Any proper scholar or even ranked mage would know him at a moment's notice, for none could contain the books that should be written.

Occupation: CMAS Arch Mage (on suspension), Former head of the S-S Project, former Hyznian scholar.

Magical Capabilities: Being a (former) Arch Mage of his talent, his mastery of the arcane is well-renowned, and properly feared. His repertoire is vast, consisting of elemental, mental, and physical manipulation on a grand scale, all while using his arcane network to pinpoint efficiency. Rumors since his fall from the public eye have been shifty, stating that he must have lost power...or has only been gaining more without government distractions.

Body Modifications: Apparently none.

Weapons and Equipment: A small satchel beneath his robe carries a notebook, where he keeps notes for future archiving, as well as a roll of spare leather wrappings. The leather bindings on his arms and legs must have some arcane property, but it is not apparent what.

Specialties: Sulfrax has studied the arcane to the (apparent) point of madness. Only the ridiculously obscure and obscene in the realm of magic would surprise him. Being a magic-happy recluse doesn't exactly do wonders for the physical body though; he's quite weak.

Her face shares the slim-but-elegant attractiveness of the rest of her, all centered around bright golden-colored eyes behind thick lashes. She has a varied wardrobe, ranging from long, elegant dresses, to simple skirts and sweaters, to business suits, to ornate traditional magi robes. She is no stranger to make-up or jewelry, accenting her features with lipstick, eye shadow, polished nails, and a different pair of matching rings and earrings for every occasion. She doesn't usually tie her hair back, but when she does, a small tattoo of a sun can be seen on the back of her neck.
Personality: Mina is charming, charismatic, and attractive, and she has used all of this, alongside her incredible magical talents, to make reaching the top of the ladder of power very easy, and she enjoys a seat as one of Sydney's most valuable assets.

Faehran stands at an unusually tall 6'2"(188cm) and weighs about 170lb(77kg). She has is fairly muscular despite her voluptuous frame, clearly getting in plenty more exercise than most magi from the other Nations, more comparable to a long-term Diver's build. Her hair is long, straight, and raven black, and her eyes are a dim yellow-green. Her face has a strong bone structure, and in terms of figure alone, she strikes somewhere between very attractive and very intimidating. She definitely leans towards the latter though, with red eye shadow deep enough to look like blood, a tattoo of a crow's foot about the size of her fist below her collarbone, and several scars along her forearms. She wears a black short-sleeved leather coat, open in the front to expose her tattoo and tattered in the back, reaching just above the backs of her knees. Her stomach, lower breasts, and arms to just above the elbow are covered in dark grey cloth wraps. Below, her pants are a brighter grey leather, with shin-length boots of the same color. Her wrists and ankles are adorned with metal bands that almost look like shackles, and a red cord around her waist holds several thin metal containers below her coat. A white armband with CMAS stitched on is lazily strapped around her upper left sleeve, presumably last-minute.
Personality: Faehran is a bit hard to pin down; she is an Illon ideal in her appearance, tall strong and intimidating. Her eyes always appear cold, and her reactions halfhearted, which easily puts people off. The worst part is that she never seems to talk. Ever. Luckily, most questions a soldier is asked are answered with a simple yes or no, so nodding and shaking her head seems to work just fine.
History: Faehran has no public notoriety or work history to speak of. It seems like she was simply dragged out of somewhere in Illon and slapped on the Survey Team 1, and nobody who doesn't need to know, doesn't know.

Nicolas stands at about 5'5"(165cm) and weighs around 106lb(46kg). His build is wiry and thin, with very tan skin, but the rest of his appearance is covered by his ensemble of clothing. His attire varies frequently in color, but the articles themselves tend to stay the same types; a light breastplate, hooded cloak, shin high greaves, long gloves, and decorated cloth tunic and leggings. Currently, for work purposes, his metal breastplate has a stylized CMAS emblem engraved upon it. He carries three different carved wooden drama masks with him, one for happiness, sadness, and anger; a thin black gauze prevents his eyes or mouth from being seen beneath. He wields a pair of long daggers, both of them decorated with gold-and-silver paint, and handles wrapped in blue ribbon.
Personality: Nicolas is a self-proclaimed entertainer, quick to crack a crude joke, snide remark, or sarcastic compliment. He has a habit of breaking into a short skit to add flavor to a conversation, and loves being near the center of attention. Despite how annoying all of this may seem, he's remarkably easy to get along with, good at holding lighthearted conversations and lifting the moods around him. However, if tensions rise too high, he can lose composure, having difficulty handling sensitive issues. Playing the game of life and death isn't nearly as fun if nobody's having a good time, after all.
History: Wherever he came from originally, the "Drama Knife" found himself making cuts across No-Man's Land, remarked by many as one of the fastest-developing combatants out there. He discovered his talents for thievery, charisma, and wit at a young age, and he exploited them to become one of the stragest and most prodigal Divers out there. Growing into a masked blade-for-hire, several rumors spread about his talents as a true rogue of the wastes, and he was paid well to end rivalries and restore riches to those who had been wronged, without a shred of proof left behind to prove him guilty. Which begs to ask if he started his own rumors, just to put himself in a greater spotlight?

Appearance: Alvios stands at about 6'0", weighing at around 160lb with a tight, muscular frame. His hair is mid-length and usually only casually kept, with his bangs reaching just above his eyes, and the length ending just above the base of his neck. He's usually seen with a dark purple bowler hat with a color-matching trench coat, undone at the front to reveal a red shirt beneath, black jeans, and short grey leather boots. His skin is lightly tanned from his days out in No-man's-land, and his eyes are a bright blue.

Personality: Alvios is a kindhearted, modest man, spending most of his time making sure everything going on around Diver's Paradise is kept fair and safe. Despite the amount of work he puts into this; managing supplies, codes of conduct, and solving group disputes, he still manages to come across as more of a personal friend than an authoritative figure. Being one of the founding members of Diver's Paradise, he holds the belief that Divers are a community built upon freedom, but a community nonetheless, and should work together to make the no-man's-land as much of a haven as it is an adventure.

History: Luke's best friend, he has been a Diver alongside him for years upon years now. They founded Diver's Paradise together, and has been helping any Divers he comes across since.

Primary Focus: Ki

Magical Capabilities: Alvios is one of the most potent Divers out there, and is a master of manipulating the inner energies of Ki, giving him vastly improved strength, stamina, and durability. However, his greatest achievement in this art is his ability to manipulate his Ki outside of his body to more degree than just a raw force. Due to this, most people confuse it with magic, and Alvios doesn't bother to correct them; the element of surprise, after all.

- Ki Healing: Alvios can project his own Ki to overstimulate anothers' Ki in a specific area, and manipulate the body's natural regeneration to an insane degree, to close wounds, mend bones, and even repair organs. However, this does have its limits, and is impractical in combat outside of minor injuries. Intensive damage would still require time to heal, and the patient would still need time to recover.

- Ki Wave: Alvios focuses a massive amount of Ki (usually through his sword, but can be done with a hand or foot) into an arc of raw energy. The blast is fast and violently powerful, and certainly enough to tear through the common foe. However, since Ki is an internal energy, doing this is strenuous, and too much use can be taxing on himself.

Body Modifications: None

Weapons and Equipment: The inside of Alvios' coat contains several pockets with salves, herbs, bandages, elixirs, scalpels, and other things needed for cleaning a wound before healing, or to help fight off infections, illnesses, and venom.

Templar's Blade:
A blade found during his early years of Diving, Alvios has taken a liking to it, and keeps it with him at all times. He has magically reinforced the weapon over the years, making it far more potent and durable than a regular blade.

Specialties: Helps organize and mediate Diver's Paradise, vast medical knowledge, swordplay, basic martial arts.
