The woman nods. "That's fair, it is..sometimes hard to remember that we're all related for the most part." She huffs a bit, shaking her head. "Those scientists don't deserve you at all, that much is for sure." She giggles a bit. "Lapdog? You mean sexy shirtless dude? Yeah, he's super hot." Her face turns red. "I mean...sure there's someone, but they'd never give me a time of day..."

Benjamin raises an eyebrow at the look on her face. "Maybe give it a go. If I really thought one of those scientists were worth going for, I'd take my best shot. Nothing wrong with trying y'know? No matter how out of your league this someone is." He offers her his hand to shake. "I'll be your wingman any day, got it? I can talk you up to anyone you like."
<Snipped quote by Hawksnest565>

The woman chuckles at that. "No complaints there." She pulls over to the side of the road and stretches her arms over her head. "Your mom sounds like a great woman." she smiles at him warmly before parking, and pulling the key out of the ignition. "Definitely, and those scientist ladies are pretty smoking." She grins. "Do you have your eyes on anyone in the compound?" she asks, genuinely curious as she gets out and shuts her door before heading to the back to unlock the trunk.

Benjamin opens the door, letting out a sigh of relief as he stretches his legs. The area they were in was quite secluded, canyon walls on one side and a steep cliff on the other. There'd be little place for the kids to run should they try to escape. Even if they could shift into something that could fly or run fast, the tranquiliser in their systems would keep them from transforming for some time. He laughs at her questions. "Eh, it's pretty hard to keep track of anyone when there's a pretty high chance you may or may not end up in the bed of someone you're related to. None of those scientists would turn their head towards a guy like me." He let out a low whistle at the thought of one person. "Although... You see that lapdog the Boss keeps with him these days? Don't know if he's part of the family or not but damn. He's got a body." He follows her around to the back. "Yourself?"

The woman chuckles slightly, before nodding. "That's pretty cool. I was mostly a store runner, you know getting supplies and stuff. And apparently they needed a driver, who actually knew their way around here. Apparently most people don't drive or don't know anything around here. so I got desginated driver." She giggles. "Must be, or something like that, not really sure. But we're mostly family in the compound now, for some reason Boss doesn't have a lot of outsiders other than the scientists? So maybe one of them had Harold's kid I'm not sure.." She then nods. "Sounds like a plan. Maybe we could just see what's going on? If we're civil they might listen to us."

"Don't know about you, but I spent most of my life around the group and stuff. It made learning to drive anywhere but around a circular track a little hard." Benjamin shook his head at the memory. "My ma took me out a couple times, probably when she wasn't supposed to, so at least I got a bit of road experience. I'm glad it's at least pretty deserted around here. Be prepared for an incredibly slow drive from this point on." He grinned at her. "Eh, when Harold was a teenager he was quite the looker. I could see him grabbing one of those scientists." He gestures to a spot by the side of the road. "Good idea. I mean, we're quite reasonable folks. Let's stop here."

The woman nods, then sighs. "Yeah, patrolling the perimeter, helping the cooks make runs...great fun." She huffs slightly. "I think Boss likes the people who capture them to let them go? I dunno, this is my first mission, pretty exciting so far!" She grins at him, then laughs. "Do we even have psychs in our compound? I think...Harold is supposed to be good with kids, but I barely see him around anymore. We should definitely track him down and see what he knows about the releasing process..." She sighs, seeing the building up ahead. "It'll be nice to stretch our legs once again, I hate driving all night, I think I nearly fell asleep twice at the wheel, Boss surely would kill me if the crash didn't!" she chuckles lightly. She then blinks at the shouting. "Uh oh.." She slows to a stop. "Do you want to check on them or should I?"

Benjamin gives her a hearty pat on the shoulder. "Welcome to the club then! Security was my speciality for most of time in the organisation but the other week I was doing shooting practice and one of the head honchos comes in and tells me my sharp shooting can earn me the upgrade on out of here. Not Boss - one of his lackeys, y'know? Then I talk to Boss and here I am!" He gives 'hmph' at the name Harold. "Guy buries himself in work more than Boss. I heard the kid rumour too though - maybe he's a dad or something? At least finding him'd give us something to do. Anyway, thanks for taking the wheel. Tell you what, let's both get out and I'll drive for a little while. I managed to catch a few Z's." He frowned at the noise behind them. "What exactly do we do? Can't have 'em escaping and one of the scientists said something about not giving too many tranq doses."
<Snipped quote by Hawksnest565>

The woman nods. "Exactly. I don't even know if Boss even plans to try it on them anyway. He might just kick them out when this is all done..." She chuckles, nodding. "Yeah. I was told that your aunt was married to my dad's cousin or something like that, I don't even remember." She shrugs and turns onto a dirt road. "We're almost to base, we should be pretty safe from here on out." She glances at the window. "Nah, that tranquilizer stuff is supposed to kill their appetite. If anything, we'll give them water when we get there."

Benjamin stretched his arms up and yawned. "Been a long trip. It's good to get this done." As soon as he said the words, he realised what returning would mean. "I guess we'll be back to the normal security routine, huh? These capture missions are the most exciting thing about the job." He frowns, thinking about the kids in the back of the truck. "Why don't we ever get to release 'em back, y'know? I reckon Boss thinks I've got too scary a face to put 'em back where we found 'em. Probably he gets a nice psych or something to calm 'em down and take 'em on a nice road trip first. Needles can make kids pretty scared." Although he takes note of her words he secretly thinks about the chocolate bar he has in his pocket. It wouldn't be too hard to sneak it into one of their hands. Extra sugar would help with any blood they were about to lose.
Benjamin shakes his head at the thought of them. "Well, at the end of the day they're just employees... Who knows how many of 'em will actually be able to use the final, uh, thing that whatever all these experiments are about comes up with. They don't have that guarantee of blood relation like we do." He scratches his head thoughtfully. "My old man said something similar. What are we, like cousins twice-removed or something? Ah, I guess it doesn't really matter. Important thing is that Boss trucks on and we get these guys back to home base. You'll get your icey vacation, don't you worry." He frowns at the bang on the window behind them. "Do we need to feed 'em or anything?"
Benjamin laughs a little, glad that someone else shared his dislike of the scientists. "It'll be good to be rid of 'em when were done with all this. Ah, I'm looking forward to some personal time. Raise or not, Boss pays pretty well. Maybe I'll vacation by the beach. Hey, if I can shift maybe I'll be a bird! Free airfare for me!" He grins at the thought of it. "Don't you worry 'boot Boss, okay? He's got it under control. The bloke's had more stabs in the arm then a junkie after all those attempts. If he's still standing after all that, I reckon he's fine. Plus if he can run a business, he's gotta be doing well."
Benjamin shrugged uncertainly, casting his eyes to the road ahead. "I don't know about you, but if I was gonna take blood I'd stuff it up. I break enough darts when I put them into my tranq gun." He held up his hands for a second, examining their large and rugged appearance. "And those scientist blokes certainly can't get blood out in the field. They'd fall over themselves or get attacked by a bee." Truth be told, Benjamin didn't really know the scientists all that well but the ones he'd spoken to seemed to laugh at the way he spoke or generally be unkind. He'd repay the favour in full. "Eh, I like seeing Boss happy. If he don't like the sun, he don't like it. 'sides, at his age going outside won't do him any good. Last time I saw him y'know he spoke like this-" He put on a shaky old man voice, "-I'm so close! So close!" He switched back to his own voice. "See? Real excited like. I think he's fine."
"Nothing warms my heart like the thought of a raise..." Benjamin chuckles with her. "...Except maybe the thought at what science-y stuff can be done with the two of 'em. Who knows? Boss told me once I got the genes to shift y'know!" He frowned at her worry, thinking of the two of them. He'd barely noticed their age, too caught up in the importance of the job and the excitement of at last finding what they'd been sent to capture. "Eh, if Boss didn't specify then he didn't care. I mean, it's all the same stuff right? Blood and DNA and all that. Age don't change your genes. At least, I think not."
Benjamin, a man used to heavy-lifting but more skilled with a gun than anything he could do with his hands, was one half of the two whom had captured the shifters. His face was hardset and barely showed emotion but that did not mean his heart wasn't soaring right now. While his partner drove the truck, he let out a whoop of satisfaction in the driver's seat. "Can't believe we finally found 'em. What luck! Boss was right - chase down enough of those crazy rumours and you really do find shifters... I mean, it's better than the last lot of wackos we found at the stop before." He glanced over at his partner, hoping to have some shared excitement from her.
