Brianna was a scientist of impeccable precision. She wouldn't say that she was the top in her area of biology however - just one of the smartest willingly to go into the underground business area. It was dirty work, both in a legal and literal sense. Some nights she could still feel the way the hearts of some of the previous captives had stopped beating beneath her hands as they gave up after one too many cruel punishments had been brought upon their curious bodies. Thankfully the goodness of new scientific discovery managed to hide her nightmares in the bright of day. There was a new subject today and she was fascinated to dig under the bones. There was supposed to be two - unfortunately, one had been compromised. She didn't know how the boss would take it. She waits patiently for her co-worker to bring the subject.

Benjamin sighed in relief as the dart hit its target, barely hearing the words of his partner. The boy could have gotten himself killed if he wasn't careful. He then noticed the absence of the woman and turned to see her sprinting off after the girl. "You get her cuz!" While he could see the girl she was too far away for even him to hit. He noticed that his partner didn't have her tranq gun on her and knew that he'd have to join her in the chase. For now, he'd be best to make sure the boy was safe. He ran over to Ambrose's unconscious body and scooped him up carefully, returning him to the back of the truck.
Almost as quickly as he was down, Benjamin was back up again and pulling out his tranquiliser gun. He really didn't want to give the boy another dose, but what other option did he have. He pulled it out at aimed at the retreating child, totally focused on him and not on Misha. "Sorry buddy." He sighed and pulled the trigger.
Now, Benjamin was quite a strong man and was relatively proud of the beatings he could possibly take. Unfortunately he hadn't been planning to take a beating there. He dropped Ambrose in pain and surprise and fell to the floor, leaving the way out of the truck quite open.
"Woah kid, steady." Benjamin was much larger and stronger than Ambrose and easily prevented grabbed him. "A little help here?" He asked his partner. He was totally distracted by Ambrose's escape attempt and wanted to try to calm him down. "There's nothing bad going on here, some scientists are just gonna take your blood is all. Not even much! Promise you. They're grumpy but they're not evil people."
Benjamin looked unsurely at his partner as he heard the boy's request. "Sorry kid, no can do. Can't have you flying the coop, y'know? But I promise, you and your friend are gonna be a-okay. See, the people we work for just wanna take a little look at your DNA and all and then they'll send you home safe and sound. Sorry we didn't ask, but the business likes things kept quiet and we couldn't risk refusal." He thought about informing the two of them about the additional effect of the tranquiliser in blocking shifting but he didn't want to scare them. "We just wanted to make sure the two of you are okay."

The woman nods. "Yeah, I supposed you're right." She sighs heavily. "I think it's partially due to being cooped up for so long, since Boss doesn't want anyone wandering off..." She then smiles. "Yeah I think I've done the same. I've done some pretty stupid stuff since I started preparing for this.." She heads to the front of the truck and grabs her tranq gun. After checking that it had darts left, she walks back over, handing it to Benjamin. "I'm betting you're a better aim than i am."
"Well, be happy knowing your in good company when it comes to mistakes." Benjamin laughs, wondering briefly if it ran in the family. He gratefully accepted the tranq gun, glad that it was already loaded. The last thing he wanted to do was to break more of the precious darts. "Okay, let's open her up and hope the two of 'em don't jump for it straight away. Actually, open it up real slow like. Maybe we can just peek in first."

The woman nods. "Cuz is fine." She smiles a bit. "Feels like many in our family don't treat each other as family, so it's kind of nice to...talk about it even just a little bit." she looks at the trunk and crosses her arms a bit. "Should I grab a tranq gun...just in case?"
Benjamin looks annoyed at the thought of some of the members of their so-called 'family'. "Just ignore 'em cuz. Some family just get a bit bothered with each other 'cause we've been together so long. It helps if they turn a blind eye to that relationships." He sighs, relinquishing to her idea. "Yeah, we better. I just hope we don't have to use it. You know I once jabbed myself with one of my darts? Stuff was so disorientating when I woke up... I'd rather not give 'em two bursts of it. Who knows how they feel right now."

The woman brightens happily. "Thanks, I appreciate that Ben." She takes his hand and shakes it firmly. "And if you ever find someone you like, let me know, I'd gladly do the same for you." She sighs a bit. "I just hope you're right...I don't want to make too big of a fool of myself, you know?"
"Don't you worry." He gives her a confident thumbs up. "The only person who remembers you making a fool out of yourself is you, cuz." He thinks a moment on the nickname. "Can I call you cuz? I guess if we are cousins in some manner it's an appropriate title." Before she answers he bangs on the door of the truck. "You kids okay in there? I know this is a bit scary but... Well, there's a good reason for it!"
