At the intrusion of the rescue group, Brianna's acting skills switched into overdrive. After slipping the tooth into her labcoat pocket she threw her hands up. "Hunter?" she asks unsurely. "How on Earth did they find us?!"

"To be fair, we have hardly met enough for me to know those things." Marik kneels to be closer to her. "In fact, I do not think that I've even had the sense to ask your name." He hesitates a little at her question. "Sometimes it can be more interesting to watch a person than to talk to them. I hardly imagine that you would have shifted in the first place had you known of my presence."

"Your friends?" The Boss is pleased on the inside that Ambrose brought them up of his own will. "Ah, the ones that fight against the... Hm, Brauns was it?" He flubs the name to distract Ambrose from his prying.

Ambrose glances at the old man, his eyes vacant. "I couldn't help her..." he whispers, trembling. He looks away, ashamed at himself. "My baby sister needed me..." he looks at the laptop. "Thank you for finding her sir..."

The Boss opens up the laptop a little, so that Ambrose will be able to see Ptelea getting saved. "Don't worry about all that, Ambrose. Didn't I tell you? I'm the one person you can trust to help you in the whole world." He walks around the small room for a moment, stopping to stare out the window. Since the room was on the top floor it had quite an impressive view of the surrounding desert area. "I just want to help shifters, you know?"
Noticing that Nadia was looking directly at him, Marik speaks loudly to address her across the river. "It has been a while since we last met. I must admit, I never would have consider that this was your animal form."

The moment when Hunter removed the tooth was obvious by the sound from the laptop. As soon as it was done, The Boss sent a text to the rescue squad. Go in now. The moment it was sent he pretended to have received a text. "Ambrose," he tells the boy quickly. "They think they've found her!"

Despite the headphones in her ears, Brianna still manages to hear Hunter. She takes them out of her ears and sees the small tooth. "Finally," she tells him, managing to put up a charade of nonchalance. "You take so much time with these things. As a scientist you should be quick and precise." She quickly puts on some plastic gloves and holds her hand out. "I'll make sure we put this somewhere safe."
Nadia grasped a decent sized fish in her mouth, and rose to the surface to eat it. Raw fish didn't usually bother her so long as she was in this form. She swims along to bring herself to the shallow exspanse, still oblivious to Marik. For the moment. She goes to consume the fish.

Watching Nadia come up with a fish reminded Marik that he'd yet to eat anything today. He'd left camp without breakfast and then he'd been unable to return. He sighs, looking into the river. Nadia's hunt had scared away any fish from the surface so he was unlikely to be able to catch anything himself now. He looks across to the shallows where she was coming up. It wouldn't hurt to ask her to share... She'd shared her campfire with him before. He quickly cut the idea short. There was no way he'd ever ask somebody for help like that.

Ambrose nods and looks away as the pliers enter Pteleas mouth. Tears roll down his cheeks, closing his eyes. He just wishes this nightmare would end. He had never felt more hopeless in his entire life. He couldn't even protect his baby sister, the one person he had always done everything for.

Ptelea screams loudly as she feels Hunter pull at the tooth. She tries to close her mouth to keep him from doing it, tears rolling down her cheeks. "R...rosey!" She sobs tearfully.

The Boss pulls the laptop away from Ambrose, but he purposely lets the sound of Ptelea's crying carry on. Since Brianna and Hunter were relatively silent, it was the only sound that either of them could hear.

Brianna sighs, the crying getting to her. She pulls out her last resort from her pocket - a pair of headphones. She slips them in and plays some soothing classical music as she looks at the vial filled with red blood. She could almost pretend that she was in a nice clean lab, somewhere far away from here.

Ptelea looks at Brianna fearfully. She could sense her discomfort. "Please don't let him hurt me!" She sobs, looking at Ambrose. "ROSEY!!!"

Ambrose finches and looks away, shivering. "Just do as they say Ptelly. I can't help you..." he says softly but loud enough for Ptelea to hear.

Pteleas eyes widen. "But Rosey..." she whimpers, squirming in Hunter's arms.

The Boss's pats Ambrose's shoulder. "Once again, I might suggest you look away now. Sometimes you have to accept that there is nothing you can do." The words were hardly appropriate coming from a man who'd never accepted that, but he still tried his best to make them sound comforting for Ambrose.

To distract herself, Brianna collected the syringe of blood that Hunter had taken earlier from Ptelea. It would be incredibly useful to look at the comparisons between the two siblings.

Nadia moves her body through the water. She hadn't been in her animal form in awhile and it was nice to stretch her flippers, so to say. Her eyes glanced at the fish that swam away from her, and she dove to go after a few. The current wasn't too strong at this part of the river. She had no idea Marik was above, watching.

Just below the rippled surface of the water Marik could sometimes spot the large grey shape moving swiftly around. He guessed from the way she moved that she was probably chasing fish. It was mesmerising to see how graceful she was in the water. He sat down, happy with just following her movements. It was like watching a deer pace through the forest, content being in it's natural habitat.

Nadia blinks after a moment, then looks up to glance around. She remained quiet as she crouched there. She then shifts into her animal form, a dark gray leopard seal. She waits a moment before slipping into the water and pushing herself into the deeper currents.

Hunter watches Brianna prepare, holding up Ptelea. The teeth wouldn't be as bad as Ambrose's wisdom, since they were baby teeth. "Poor Ptelea..." he says, in mock comfort. He reaches out for the pliers and takes them in hand. "Open up, deary, or I'll force you to." He commands.

Marik watches Nadia slip away with surprise. Of course, he'd had no idea to what she shifted into but it was unusual to see a creature that wasn't land-based for once. The creature had looked cumbersome for the moment it had been on the land but the moment she slipped into the water it became incredibly agile. He'd never seen anything quite like it. He crept to the edge of the river and looked to see if he could spot her beneath the water's surface.

Brianna looks away from the scene. She didn't think she was strong enough to watch a little girl have teeth ripped from her mouth. Ptelea was beginning to look more and more like her niece. She hoped that the rescue squad would come for her soon and end this. She bit her lip, knowing at the same time that those teeth were important for her goal.

Ambrose just nods weakly at the Boss. "Ptelea, it's okay, love. Be strong. Don't let them see you cry." He looks at his sister softly. "I love you so much, we're going to get you out of there..."

The Boss knew that the scientists would definitely need some of those teeth. He texts the rescue team. Enter in ten minutes unless instructed otherwise.
Nadia could see the water now and heads down to it. She was a bit off to the shallower side, and glances down to watch it flow by. She crouches and puts her hand in it.

Marik felt a cold chill at the mere sight of Nadia putting her hand in the water and wonders what she is doing. She didn't seem to be going to drink it. He walks just a little closer to watch her.

Ptelea covers her mouth with her hands, whimpering. "I just want Rosey!" She whines. She then frowns. "Rosey told you where I was?"
Ambrose pales. "I was drugged!" He snaps at Brianna before looking at Ptelea softly. "Sweetie, it's okay. We're going to get you I promise!''

Brianna leans on the bars of the cage, the dim light reflecting off her glasses in a manner that hid her eyes. "Oh, Rosey didn't just tell us where you were. We know everything little parrot. We know about daddy and mummy and all the little problems which cast you out into the world." She grabs some pliers from their collection of equipment and holds it through the bars for Hunter to take. "Let's begin collecting some more of those dear stem cells."

"Indeed, we'll get her out as soon as possible." The Boss looks at his phone. "We have a few possible locations already." he tells Ambrose. "We just need to wait for my men to search each of them."
"Oh, Ambrose! You must have been so eager for us to meet her. After all, you told us where she was!" Brianna speaks loudly enough for Ptelea to hear her. "Besides, shouldn't siblings go through similar experiences? You've had your turn!" Her soft spot for Ptelea shone through for a moment so she wasn't so willing to go for the same teeth pulling. "Ah, she's nine, isn't she? Any baby teeth left? Wisdom teeth would involve us cutting her gums."

"I'm sorry, Ambrose. It'll have to be this way... Just for a little while." The Boss covers his face, feigning an aura of distraught. He whips out his phone suddenly. "Don't worry! I'll do whatever I can to speed it up." He looks to be typing in something furiously, but it's all for show.

Marik eventually walks out onto the river bank. Indeed, it was the same foreign woman from before. She seemed caught up in her own thoughts, so he just watched her for a moment.
Nadia stops for a moment, trying to figure out her position of the forest. She was a little closer to Rabin territory than she usually cared for, but shrugs. It didn't matter. They hadn't bothered her in awhile. She resumes her steady pace and veers off to head to the river.

Marik shifts momentarily and sniffs the air. There was a scent he recognised... That woman he'd met a couple of times before... She was rather close to the border. Still, as long as she didn't cross it there was no trouble there. While he was inclined to keep his own company, the forest had no other scents of prey or anything interesting, so he decided it wouldn't hurt to follow wherever she was going.
