Bio
Hello! I'm Heap!
Welcome to my little corner of the guild.
My current life status and availability:
I live in the Western area of the US in an apartment I work 2 jobs and 50-65 hours (Not exaggerating) a week to pay for. I work primarily as a professional graphic designer and part time at a local family owned shop mainly as a favor to the owner who needed the help. Aside from that I'm relatively active in my social life and non-role-playing activities so while I'm still online everyday the hours are usually really early in the morning and really late at night. That being said, if you find me in chat and I randomly disappear, I'm not trying to be rude, someone probably just showed up at my door wanting to hang out or go out.
My Roleplaying style:
When it comes to joining a role-play I usually go for a more adult themed type. Not necessarily intimate just more of a mature context. The genre doesn't typically matter so long as the idea is somewhat original, that to say, I don't go for role-plays based on any specific media very often. The exception being if the role-play is based off an already well established story that it's not completely following the canon of it.
Who I am:
Curiosity is my blessing and curse. I must know as much about everything as I possibly can and often will never take a simple answer to a question without either inquiring further or doing extra research on the subject until I know it's origin, current political and monetary state, how it's used and if in any way it could influence my own life. So far as I know I'm a pretty easy going, fun loving, person, I'm not afraid to go against the grain or do something that seems a little odd. In the end I genuinely just want to be a happy person and in turn share that happiness with everyone around me.
Side note:
I've made a few friends since being here and truly cherish my friendships with each and every one of them (you know who you are). If you guys ever need anything, ever, I'm there, you never need to ask twice or feel like you are any less important to me then you really are.
The Ibrus Clan is also a thing consisting of myself, @Vashonn, @Caster and @Big Dread. We are a group of miscreants and are all really good friends. I would do almost anything for them.

Post at least 3 paragraphs or 1500 characters in each post, give other people something to work with.
Post at least once a week. If you go MIA I will NOT hunt you down, I will just kill your character off in whatever mission they are currently working on. You'll get a PM afterwards telling you what befell your character.
No super powers or special abilities. You can have a good running skill so you can run a little faster and longer then most but not as fast as the Flash.
If you are ignoring other people that are trying to interact with you, you will get a warning, if it keeps happening, your character will get killed off. If your character is antisocial and just doesn't play well with others, at least acknowledge in your post that someone else it trying to talk to you.
Please OOC if you want to take a mission before having your character go for it. I will respond to you as to whether it is taken or not as someone may be posting at the same time.
If you claim a mission but don't post about it in 24 hours, your mission will be given to someone else.
Romance is allowed and welcome but please, OOC or PM me if it's something you want to do so I know who is involved and I won't red flag it. If you are continually trying to romance someone who wants nothing to do with it, your character will be killed off.
This RP will fall under realistic. People knock into each other from time to time, they trip occasionally, say something stupid, etc. It's okay to do this, it'll make the RP real.
Let your character get hit from time to time, give them cool scars or fail missions. It's natural.
Characters can and will die! You are welcome to make a new character if this happens.
Mission parameters and content are not linear unless stated otherwise so as long as you stick to the basic details provided on the notice board, you have free reign to be as creative as you want with completing the mission.
Some missions will be more in depth, it will be obvious which ones they are when they come up, these missions will be important to the progression of the story so take your time when you are involved in these ones.
Weapons grow dull and armour needs to be buffed every once in a while. You're weapon will not last forever so please occasionally have the blacksmith tinker with your equipment. The blacksmith may on occasion put up a quest for an unbreakable weapon. If you are a bow user, you'll need to refill your arrows every so often as well.
Character Creation Rules:
NO SPECIAL ABILITIES OR POWERS! Seriously.. none.
We are all human here, no elves, dwarves, etc. Creatures can be random fantasy creatures but not the characters.
Original CS's only. Please don't reuse a CS you have used in the past. You may pull details from old characters but not the whole thing.
Please try not to only use Anime characters, it's okay if that's all you can find, but this isn't an anime RP.
Please follow the CS sheet I lay out for you to use.
Do not post your CS is the CS tab until it is approved. Before you are approved, I will look into your posting style and history to see what kind of RPer you are.

We are an adventuring guild set out to retrieve commissions for various tasks given to us by the realm of Draykon. They can be anywhere from hunting quests to fetch quests. Delivering important notes to fishing lost jewellery out of lakes. The notices are posted and you get to choose which missions you will do.
Draykon
The world of Draykon is a relatively small one, there are seven countries within this small world.
To the west are, from right to left, Orlind a more rural area with a desert like climate featuring what we know as the Bedouin who live off the land and travel throughout there country it is blocked off to the rest of the world by mountains so trade happens by sea. Next is Irbel, covered mostly by a deciduous forest, the people here pride themselves in their good ale and welcoming personalities. South of Irbel we have Nimdre, a savannah like biome with it's rich hunting grounds, fruit trade and people who live amongst the animals. North of Irbel is Glinnery, a grassland with a rich mining industry in granites and precious metals. These areas are known as the daylands, they bask in companionship, good nature and wonderful personality.
On the east are the darklands, where more of the crime and poverty of Draykon are held. From right to left we have Glour, a coniferous forest type biome with it's evergreen, rolling hills and lakes, this country produces a lot of the coal found throughout Draykon. Next is Orstwych a tundra with ferocious animals, viscous weather and few people inhabiting it. Finally we have Ullarn, an alpine biome and the capitol of the crime world. This is where all the factories of Draykon are held, the people here are mostly poor though there are still some rich folk around.
Draykon is ruled by a comity formed of one elected official from each country who meet regularly in various cities to discuss trade agreements, livelihoods, etc.
Our guild is tucked away in the mountains of Irbel and it's guild master often meets with the comity to discuss matters that come up often in various countries that may need to be addressed by the Draykon Army as opposed to guild members.
The currency type of Draykon is known as Yule and is used in all countries.
Trade in Draykon:
The merchant trade is a very important one in Draykon as it is rare for any two countries to possess the same natural resources as each other. Trade is what keeps the countries in balance and also keeps life sustainable.
There are two types of trading or bartering in Draykon, the first is by travelling caravan. Merchants gather a caravan of goods and commence trade in each of the seven countries. This helps distribute the goods of Draykon across it by land. There are currently four different active caravans running at the moment creating a continuous loop around this little world.
The second type of trade to be found is trade by sea. There are several ships that transport goods to different ports. The main ports are as follows, Peyotril in Ullarn, Tinudren in Nimdre, Balbater in Irbel and Mayraal in Glinnery. There are several small ports as well which only receive a visit from the ships upon request. The most frequent is on the far western edge of Orlind as the mountains block their ability to receive frequent trade by caravan.
Inside the White Lily
Entrance:
As you enter the guild, you are greeted by the welcoming face of Athena, the guilds resident administrator.
Athena stands behind a large counter with papers neatly organized behind it. When accepting contracts, turning in missions and receiving the bounty or joining the guild, she is the one you need to speak to. She is quiet and to the point but will always give you exactly the information you need.
Marketplace:
If you take a right you will enter a guild marketplace, home the the resident blacksmith and apothecary. The marketplace is a large room taken up entirely by these two shops between them being a large ridged map of Draykon. Sculpted and painted by Athena.
The weapons and armour master sets up shop on the right side of the room. She goes by Artemis and although her personality is hard and stubborn, she is the best blacksmith in Draykon. Artemis will sometimes post contracts up for rare materials with unique weapons as a reward. She will also upgrade weapons and armour for a fee.
The apothecary who takes up the left side of the room, studies in medicines and potions to help with anything from broken bones, headaches, strength boosts, etc. She goes by Hygiea and though she is older, if very wise and acceptional in the art of potions, poisons and healing.
Lounge and Bar:
As you go up the stairs to the right of Athenas counter you'll head into the bar and lounge. This is the general location of the guild members who are preparing for missions and contracts, drinking, or hanging out with their guild mates. There is always someone in this area. To the right of the bar is the notice board where contracts and missions needing to be picked up will be located.
Hot food and a variety of drinks are available at the bar where the menu changes every so often. The cheerful, flirtatious and eccentric woman that is the bartender goes by Hathor. Her lively personality and random outbursts keep the mood lively within the guild. She was a former adventurer but found she enjoyed making, serving and drinking more then adventuring.
Deeper within the guild:
On the back right hand side of the lounge is a hallway and stairwell leading to the living quarters of the guild. Many guild members simply live within the guild where a select few others live in various places throughout Draykon. The fee to live within the guild is a measly 5% of profit earned from turning in bounties. Since this rate is so affordable it is the general option for guild members. Each living quarter comes with a bed, wardrobe and desk.
Deeper into the guild you'll find a library, small and full of books written by current and former guild members. Though it's open to all members, there is rarely a sole within the room as the books are so poorly written that the handwriting is barely legible. Beyond that is a separate mens and womens bathroom each with a large pool for bathing.
At the deepest furthest end of the guild lays the guild masters quarters. It's a large room with a desk in the center surrounded by bookshelves that frame a large round window looking through valleys within the mountains. To the left of the desk is a door to his chambers with his own private bathroom. The guild master spends most of him time here though he is sometimes spotted in the lounge. He receives reports from Athena, Artemis, Hygia and Hathor about the ongoings within the guild and joins comity meetings to learn of the ongoings of Draykon. He goes by Ares (Are-Es) and holds an aura that demands the deepest respect.
There isn't a specific format or template for posts unless the GM of the particular role-play you are joining declares otherwise. Whatever your style of writing is should be fine! =] My only suggestion if that you find a color you like and use that for your dialogue so it's easier to find and read. For example you could do orange - "Hello, Welcome to the Guild! or a custom color "Hello, Welcome to the Guild!"
This is a great site to help with HTML color codes htmlcolorcodes.com I personally always use standard orange as it seems to be the least used on the site. Having a unique color allows other players to remember who is who easier as sometimes just a user name or character name can be forgotten.
You're formatting looks great! As far as number of characters, again, it depends on the RP and GM. Some RPs allow you to have multiple characters others don't. If you choose to do multiple make sure you discuss with your GM how you will be posting! Also, I would use different colors for dialogue for different characters to help differentiate them. Almost all RPs come with their own custom Character Sheet or CS as you will see it named, be sure to adjust your characters to these sheets so they will fit in the role play.
There are a lot of RPs currently available for those topics! Usually a GM will post an interest check under the interest check forum of each type (Free, Casual, Advanced etc.) Once that person gets enough interest they'll make an official RP where players can start posting Character Sheets. As an example, I recently put up an interest check of my own here. You are welcome to join it if you'd like or just observe the process, the official RP should be up in a few days.
Role-Plays that are either in process or still accepting applications will have three tabs the first being IC (or in character) the second being OOC (Out of Character, most conversation happens here as well as character sheets waiting for approval) and finally Characters where once approved you can post your character so it's easier for yourself, your GM and your co-Role-Players to find.
For your last question, the GM doesn't have to approve your posts before you submit them, only your characters. Again, the only acception to that is if the GM requires it. Occasionally if you are having lengthy back and forth dialogue with another character it helps to take the conversation to private messaging then have one or the other post the conversation as one post. It's not a rule, but it's helpful to the other players in the RP.
Hopefully that answers your questions! Sorry for the lengthy response.
Play-by-post is relatively simple, instead of talking to a group of people in person you are responding with a written text in a forum. RPs can last months or even years depending on the story.
RPG uses BBCode for it's formatting and a little cheat sheet can be found here
