Biography: Madock is the son of one of the best gunsmiths in the nation, Mavrick Holliday. People came from all around to buy a gun carrying the Holliday name behind it, that was at least until the accident. When Madock was young, his father was shot by an unruly customer. Although his father survived, he had lost two of his fingers and the ability to speak. People, who came to see the "great" Mavrick Holliday, were shocked to see a disabled man who couldn't speak to them. Although the quality of his father's work didn't change, people couldn't believe that a mute with half a hand could produce the highly acclaimed weapons that they heard about. So fewer and fewer people started coming, and his family began to struggle to survive. That was when Madock stepped in. Seeing his family in turmoil, Madock came up with an idea to help his father regain his popularity once more. After months of training, Madock entered his first marksmanship competition. He was the youngest competitor by far, entering when he was 11 years old. None of the adults expected him to do well. Madock, with his father's weapons in hand, had other plans. Round after round he out shot veteran shooters one by one. All of the contestants were stunned that a kid ended up getting third place in an adult marksmanship competition. At the awards ceremony, Madock boasted about his father's weaponry and their quality. From that moment on, Madock became the posterboy for Holliday brand.

A few years passed and Madock's competetive career grew. He was consistently a top contender for national competitions, and had made quite a bit of money, all of which he gave to his family to help their business. He also became the lead salesperson for his family. He would talk to and handle the customers directly, and his father would produce the weapons. His father's business began to grow again, and pretty soon his father was considered one of the nations best gunsmiths once more.

Even though Madock was always busy between marksmanship competitions and helping his father's business, he always made time for his best friend Wyatt. He and Wyatt were thick as thieves, and would often go out and explore the vast outdoors. They saw many beautiful and dangerous things, and often got into trouble while out on their escapades. They always seemed to make it out in one piece though. That was until Madock and Wyatt came upon and ice cave that seemingly appeared over the weekend. The thought of danger never crossed their mind as they entered it. Suffice to say that they ran into a particularly dangerous monster and got attacked. Madock's bullets failed to pierce the monsters armor and they found themselves running for their lives. Unfortunately Madock slipped on the ice created by the Monster. Just before the monster attacked, Wyatt jumped in and intercepted the monster. It was around that time some local hunters showed up and scared off the beast, but Wyatt had already taken too much damage, and was dying. Wyatt, with his last words, made Madock swear to never give up exploring and then passed away. From that day onward, he swore to become even stronger.

This allows Madock to shoot pure kinetic energy from his gun. This allows Madock to shoot a gun without any ammunition. He can add effects to his shots by mixing kinetic energy with another. The sudden conversion of the built up potential energy to kinetic energy can take it's toll on a whatever is containing it and will break after a few uses if not made well.

Welcome to Farhaven Academy! A prestigious school with a world class staff, food, and students! Ever since Farhaven Academy was created over a hundred years ago, we have cultivated and produced some of the brightest minds, athletes, and stars this world has ever known!

Head Master's Journal Entry #1:
On the outside, the world sees a successful academy with a great reputation, but there is more than meets the eye at Farhaven Academy.
Monsters, mythical creatures, and magic have become popular fiction in our society, but what most people don't realize is that it's all true. Monsters roam the night, creatures of legend hide within the shadows, and magic lies just below the surface. A whole other world exists, hidden behind a veil of popular media and secrecy. After all this time, how has this world been kept a secret from the ambitious and prying eyes of humanity? Well, the answer is simple, they had help. People like me, we create institutions and businesses to help shield the rest of the world from the truth and to protect these denizens of the dark.

I created this academy one hundred-twenty years ago to give young souls guidance on how to blend into the world, and to give them protection as they discover themselves and those around them. I also created this academy in hopes of one day reaching a point where humanity can fully accept the existence of the supernatural. Until this day comes this school will stand, and hopefully, so will I.

Hello friends! Welcome to Farhaven Academy: Shadows of the Light!

This is an invite only rp where the players take on the role(s) of the students. You can be a vampire, werewolf, demi-human, and much more! Or you could be an ordinary, unassuming student. Unaware of the world they will eventually be thrown into!(It just wouldn't be fun if they could just be clueless forever, right?) Now let's get started talking about all of the rules and stuff.

Rules

1. As always follow the rules for RPguild
2. No Godmodding, Autohitting, ect, ect.
3. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT kill another person character without the other person's permission and the consent of a GM (This also falls under rule #2 to an extent)
4. This is listed under the casual section so let's all try to keep it to at least one or two paragraphs. It's alright if you fall short on some posts.
5. Even though this is tagged as 18+, please taking all the adult stuff to the PM system. I would rather be safe than sorry.
6. Every non-GM player is allowed to start with two characters. Overtime, your character limit may increase, but we will start at two for now.
7. If you have a question or an awesome idea, tell a GM. We want this to be just as much your world as ours. So ask and talk to us. Who knows, your question or idea may lead to the best story arc of the RP.

So let's talk about characters real quick. You can basically be whatever you want, that being said, we have placed a few rules and stipulations on some of the mainstay races for a rp like this. So when you create your character PM it to us. If it's a vampire, werewolf, succubus/inccubus, or anything popular like that, we will have to tell you about how that race works within this world. If your race IS NOT on our list, we will discuss how your race would be in our world. When I say we, I mean YOU TO. It's your character, so you should have some say in the race right?

P.S. Just so ya know, magic is overly abundant, so you can be a human born into a magical family and what not. Just thought I would throw that in.

Loke Blackhardt

Loke was scrawling furiously into his pocket book as he made his way with the crowd. Everyone he had taken notes on in the previous year has changed in one way or another, and Loke had to update his now inaccurate data as quickly as possible. He had been so enthralled with his note taking that he wouldn’t have even noticed the group entering the Sun Room if it wasn’t for the sudden change of color. He paused for just a moment as he took in the ambiance of the ceremonial room. It was truly an amazing room, in both architecture and importance. Loke had visited this room only twice before and every time it was as if time stood still in this place. A another few moments of appreciation, and then Loke returned to his notes.

A few minutes later, Loke was just finishing up the last few details on the student next to him when the headmaster began his opening lecture. Closing his book, Loke looked up and watched the bear of a man speak to the entirety of the class. He made sure to pay close attention to the Headmaster as he opened with the story of the Magi. Loke had been intrigued by the legend for a while now, and he has since bought plenty of books detailing the story in a multitude of ways. Everything he has read only scratched what seemed like the surface of what was really there, and he wasn’t satisfied. The Headmaster then moved onto the details of the Sacramentum. Loke couldn’t help but smile as Magnus introduced the two magisters. This is one of the days that he has been anxiously waiting for for years. With this ceremony, so many options will open up to him, and it made him absolutely giddy. He will finally be one step closer to becoming what he wants to be. When the Headmaster began calling out the pairings, Loke promptly reopened his book and began writing down each pairing as they were called out.

“Ruby Doer and Loke Blackhardt”

Loke looked up from his book as his name was called. A sudden ball of excitement and anxiousness formed in the bottom of his gut. He closed his book, shoved it into his back pocket, and made his way up to the podium. Once he had finally reached the podium he slipped off the two duffle bags worth of luggage he had on his shoulders and ascended to the top. Once there he respectfully greeted the two magisters, and turned to wait for his partner. “Ruby Doer,” he whispered to himself, “She’s in my notes. If I remember correctly. She’s roughly the same height as me at 5’7”, Red Hair, and her most recognizable known associate is Korrigan a.k.a Korrey...Yeah sounds about right.” He was hoping that reciting everything he knows about his soon to be partner would ease his nerves, but alas it had the opposite effect. “...Yeah. Great. That didn’t work. I just sound like a madman rambling random facts to himself now.” He let out a long sigh and silently waited from that moment on.

Personality: In an overall sense, Loke is a good guy. He doesn’t break the law, he regularly volunteered at his local homeless shelter, and he always got good grades. The only problem is his colossal drive for competition and a nigh insatiable want and hunger for knowledge. This has made it hard for him to make friends in the past, not like it ever really bothered him. Although friends are welcomed and enjoyed, he has found it much easier to watch from a distance and gather intelligence from his surroundings when the distraction that results from friendship is eliminated. Loke’s obsession with learning new things and obtaining information about people on the surfaces seems like nothing more than a creepy hobby, but this simply isn’t true. The true reason he is such an avid learner is that he has the deep-seated belief that knowledge is power. Why does he want so much power? It’s because he hates to lose. He grew up competing with those around him, and that grew into a passionate drive for competition. If there is even the slightest chance of something becoming a competition, Loke will be there to throw his hat in the ring. Although he hates losing, he does not fear it. He sees every loss as a learning opportunity which, in the end, will bestow him with more power.

Biography: For Loke, St. Josephines Orphanage was home. He doesn’t remember his parents since they gave him away, with nothing more than a name and a blanket, when he was born. Unfortunately, because of his odd tendencies, none of the adult couples that came through the orphanage decided to adopt him, but this didn’t bother him. He was happy with the family he had with the staff acting as parental figures and the other kids as his siblings. Amongst the staff of the Orphanage and the other kids, Loke grew especially close with three of them. Mother Gertrude, Johnny Vierra, and Lily Forsythe. Johnny and Lily were, in Loke’s opinion, his only real friends. The three of them made a promise to become the best at what they do. A few years later Johnny and Lily were both adopted by the same family.

It was in the orphanage that Loke began to take shape as an individual. It was here that his lust for knowledge and drive for competition was forged and grew. He was often forced into competitions with the other kids to help them pass the time. Be it from a foot race to solving riddles for a scavenger hunt. Loke at first detested the games that he was forced to play, but it eventually grew into something more. He became more driven to beat the other kids who continually surpassed him, especially in the more physical competitions. Although to this day he still has trouble with physical activities. This is mainly because he has been focusing more on his mind than his body.

When Loke attended middle school, he showed strong academic prowess and showed a great interest in adventuring. He would spend every day researching the different paths he could take to achieve his ultimate goals. It was then that he set his eyes on St. Fortuna’s Academy. From that day forth he spent day in and day out training his mind and power to the best of his ability. A few years later, all of his hard work paid off. He received an academic scholarship to attend St. Fortuna’s. He was ecstatic, but he had left the orphanage for more than a few days before. A few days before he departed, all of the staff and kids from the orphanage and approached him. They gave him a gift, A golden pendant with a group picture of everyone at the orphanage. Loke, moved to the point of tears, promised to return a success and then set out on the first step of his adventure.

Hacking. Hacking, when used correctly and used for good, may be one of the few ways to obtain knowledge that may otherwise be totally inaccessible..
