The room Urik entered, much to his surprise, seemed rather, well, ordinary considering the building it was in. The lack of dust didn't surprise him as much as how much it reflected the outside world. While he never really had much interaction with casters this high-level, he always assumed they'd enter Yim to escape Kodo and its worldly issues. As he walked about the room, tracing his gray fingers over the furniture he inspected, he immediately sprung to attention at the sound down the hallway.

A young girl's voice was again a surprise, however he welcomed it. Likely his target, he thought... Although a maid or caretaker wasn't out of the question either. Regardless, they'd have information. Keeping his back to the wall next to the door, he quietly, slowly cracked the door open just enough so he could get a look down the hallway.
The front gate was out of the question, he thought. Much too obvious, not to mention the risk of traps. No, he'd need to climb. Motioning to Herrik, his companion took to the skies, scouting out the area and glimpsing through windows to try to get a rough layout of the castle. Meanwhile, Urik cracked his neck, approaching a wall home to some creeping vines. Using the vines as his initial foothold, he slowly climbed the sheer side of the castle, using whatever alcoves and ledges he could take advantage of.

As he did so, a misstep combined with his weight caused a small piece of brick to chip off underfoot, the rubble falling several yards into the bushes below. Nearly losing his balance, he grabbed his dagger, and with one swift motion, plunged it between two bricks to create something to grab hold onto. Sighing in relief, he continued, finally reaching the third-floor window. Prying it open, he silently stepped inside, sheathing his dagger and signalling Herrik to keep an eye out outside.

Daud, meanwhile, has been at the rear of the group, ready to defend his comrades or slow down the attacks at any cost. In his element, he was being totally silent until Gregor spoke up about an escape route. Throwing him an incredulous look behind his visor, he lets out a scoff.

"And let these sycophants go on living outside the law? I think not, my comrade!" He shouted, keeping watch at the door.

However, it didn't take him long to consider that maybe staying and fighting wouldn't be the best idea. Sighing, he nods his head.

"Actually... Whatever you have up your sleeve, Gregor, perhaps it'd be prudent to hop to it!"
Urik stared at the two locust-like creatures, invisible blade still firmly in hand. Amalgamates or not, they disgusted him... The things they said he simply brushed off as insane ramblings. Still, 'kill the good father' was welcomed as a sign that he was doing the right thing. Nodding to the creatures, he wordlessly continued on towards the castle, ready to kill this "good father" and anyone else inside for the sake of those Beastkin so long ago.

Walking up the courtyard, he looked for any entrances that wouldn't give himself away - a window or balcony, for example.
Urik's eyes opened wide at the alien scenery before him, immediately crouching and ducking to conceal his presence. Taking a quick survey of the area, however, he quickly familiarized himself with it somewhat. It was a disgusting mockery of the real world, but the sight of the massive castle made it clear that this was not somewhere he 'should' have been. The sight of it even made him smirk, thinking of how big a target it made the owner of this realm.

Cracking his neck, he made his way to the swamp, wading through the waters as the locust-creatures before him did as well. Keeping his dagger drawn, he activated the light rune on it... causing it to disappear from sight completely, hiding it from sight. With his weapon concealed, and a false sense of helplessness emanating from him, he approached the creatures.

"Greetings, friends."

At Gregor's question about his previous encounter with Xenan, Daud smirked underneath his helmet, struggling to keep the massive stone slab erect and sturdy.

"I kept on killing him until he stopped coming back!" He said, before shaking his head. "Alas, doesn't seem that quite worked out like I expected. But the cuffs, hmm..."

Daud began to think, struggling against the onslaught of magic against his stone shield. The massive blast causing it to crumble, piece by piece, forced Daud to quickly decide on a strategy... before nodding, and shouting out. "Alright, the cuffs then! No time to waste!"

Suddenly, he raised his foot and kicked into the stone wall, causing it to explode towards Xenan in a shower of shrapnel. It was partially an attack, but mostly a distraction. Within the cloud of stone shards, Daud leaped through, swinging his halberd at Xenan's neck. As he did so, he shouted to Mercury as well.

"LASS! LIGHT HIM UP!"
Oleander still wasn't convinced by VAC or Nazir, simply giving the prior the cold shoulder, turning her chin up at him before looking away. she clearly wanted nothing to do with him at the moment, to the point of it almost looking forced. Regardless, HIVE's statement did end up shaking her out of her immature mindset, the mention of a swarm of Spacefillers surrounding the building.

As Boreas took the reigns of the party, Oleander followed him, sticking to his six. At his command to 'show him' what she could do, her eyes opened wide and she smiled. Nodding excitedly, her puppet 'calls out' to him.

"Don't'cha worry about us! This ain't any match for us!" It shouted, before going silent again. Oleander, meanwhile, readied herself for anything that was coming their way, excited to get to show off.

Daud, in response to the attack, erects a massive stone wall from the floor, breaking through the floorboards, and curving up over the group. The light manages to penetrate it in only a few places, protecting the others. Instead of making it dissolve, however, he keeps it erected, as he turns the Mercury and Gregor.

"We need to pin him down, keep him immobile. If you try to kill him, he'll just come back." Daud said, panting between breaths. "If we can trap hims somehow, we'd be able to move on."

Oleander waved timidly towards Hueco as he introduced himself, gripping the bottom of her shirt with her puppet-hand. She didn't want to speak up just yet, her shyness taking away the motivation to do so. However, it was at VAC's rude comment about her that she seemed to snap, as she turned to him and scowled.

"Who are you callin' a child?" She angrily interjected, clenching her fists. She already didn't like this guy - his lack of humility really annoyed her. And to top things off, he wanted to PING them, whatever that meant. "... And I don't think so. I don't want you... pokin' your head around in my data. I'm 'creepy', after all."

"Yeah, why don't you just buzz off with that? Real creepy, man!" Her puppet added in as Oleander turned her head away from him.

Meanwhile, she glanced over to Nazir, who didn't seem to be at all as offensive as VAC. In fact, she thought he looked pretty interesting, especially with that headwrap concealing his features. "Mysterious..." She thought to herself, catching herself staring at him with wide-eyed fascination for an instant.

Lastly, Boreas voiced his plan... One that Oleander wasn't very keen on. "But... That wasn't part of the briefing, Boreas. We can't engage it unless otherwise instructed." She says matter-of-factly, shrugging. "Sorry, but I'm gonna have to vote against it.". As she finishes her reply, her puppet 'nods' its head in agreement.
Urik abandons stealth at the sight of the empty room, clearly seeing there's no one there. However, the Rift was certainly something immensely strange to him, having only heard about them in legends. Looking to Herrik for reassurance, Urik holds his dagger up to his chest, ready to react against anything that might meet him as he approached the rift.

"Yim, eh? Seems like our targets know a thing or two about magic after all..." He grumbles to himself, glaring at the rift, trying to look through.

With a deep breath, he finally reaches the doorway to Yim, standing outside of it warily. Does he really need to go in? An eager prod from Herrik tells him yes. Sighing, he tightens his grip on the dagger, before backing up, and diving into the rift.
