【Character Profile】
【Personality:】Kagami is a kind hearted Shinigami who has been raised to be a proper hard-worker. He's obedient and reliable to the point that it's become a perk of his, however, he doesn't come off as strictly professional. He's friendly and lighthearted, although he can be shy and indecisive during social interactions, hiding quite a bit of his potential as a soldier and as a person. Having been excluded from the hardships a lot of people had to go through to get into the Seireitei, he views himself as inexperienced and afraid to do -or say-, something out of place. He treats other with respect and does his best to earn their recognition, even should the bond that ties them be one of mere work colleagues. This comes at the expense of sometimes being too naive and trusting, thus being deceived as a result.
His desire to be acknowledged serves as a method of self-gratification. He has no wishes of ever being the one who rules those below, nor does he want fame or riches. He actually doesn't like to be in the spotlight! Praise just seems to be what motivates him to move forward and feel content about the effort he invested in past actions. For the very same reason, he can get easily offended if his evaluation of his deeds does not match the way his peers see him, although it'd be rare for him to voice it. He's, after all, someone who dislikes conflict, be it at the battlefield or during a conversation.
But being honest, inexperienced and socially-awkward are not seen as negative traits by every single soul out there, those who decide to accompany Kagami in his struggle through life will find a loyal partner whose honesty and passionate devotion are qualities that are hard to find in this day and age.
【Biography:】Kagami Fuku was lucky enough to be born and raised under the wings of a lesser noble family, known for its riches. Having landed on the 'perfect comfort zone', he wouldn't have to worry about day-to-day survival like the residents of the Rukongai, nor would he ever find himself in the middle of a political conflict between houses. At the same time, however, his knowledge of such things became limited by the things he could and was allowed to read. He grew up as what Earthlings would call a normal kid surrounded by other kids who had been conditioned by the environment they were born in. As such, it was only natural that he'd have trouble fitting in. Most notably, while most other students at the Academy aspired to become Shinigami for specific reasons, be it a requisite to be accepted as an adult, a favor owed to someone else or simply the desire to protect Soul Society, Kagami joined the institution on a whim. Or initially, that's what he tried to do. While it was not necessary for him to undertake the usual entrance exam if he could afford a certain fee (and undertake an intensive training course), his pride urged him not to take the 'easy road home'. You see, while Kagami came from a family of aristocrats, both his mother and father were good people who passed their principles to him (In case you are wondering, a lucky lotto bill is what brought them their fortune). So he tried, and failed. He had no innate talent and his existence as a 'plus' had not been developed to the point required to be accepted. Other Nobles would at this point quit and instead choose to venture into the world of political warfare, where they could certainly do better than in any battlefield. However, Kagami somehow convinced himself of the idea that his peers would accept them if he managed to pass that test.
And so, his journey to became a Shinigami began. By the time he finally enrolled into the academy, Kagami was one of the youngest souls out there. This had nothing to do with talent or sheer luck, but rather the fact that most plusses didn't have the chance to nurture themselves and join as soon as he did. Those in the Rukongai saw this outcome as a pipe dream in their majority, and other nobles had to undergo previous training in other areas before even thinking of becoming a Shinigami. Both this alternatives usually breezed through the entrance test, yet Kagami failed it a whooping six times. In any case, the atmosphere in the academy was a rather hostile one, even between students. There was a clear distaste for those came from outside the walls of the Seireitei, and one was mostly forced to pick a side when an argument ensued. Being shy and submissive, Fuku ended up hanging out with those who came from the Rukongai. That's not to say that he was accepted into 'their ranks' just like that. Not everyone was a nice person, each side had plenty of scary people that weren't there to make friends. It was here that he realized that conflict was something that he didn't enjoy too much. Having second thoughts about becoming a full-fledged soul reaper, he found strength in how hard he had endured to get to that point and that it'd be wasted if he decided to quit right then and there.
Once he was allowed into the Gotei 13, he enlisted under the Fourth Division. His initial evaluation proved that he was not worthy of being a seated officer, but that was to be expected from the very start. That is not to say that his time as an unseated officer was not fruitful. No, in fact, it was during this time that grew the most. From the sidelines, he could study, learn and bring aid to those that needed it, without having to hurt anyone in the process. For a time, he was content with just that. But with each year that passed by, he became more aware with the storm brewing in his heart.
And then, it happened. Fire, blood and death all around him. And, from where he was standing, nothing could be done to bring forth a change in the right direction. Weak and powerless, the blade whispered to his ear, urging him to draw it out of its sheathe.

【Skills and Capabilities】
【General Aptitude】
【Fighting Style:】
Being young does not exactly mean Kagami is gifted in any way, in fact it would not be strange to think that a few third seats out there could give him a run for his money. More often than not, Fuku's opponent turns out to be stronger than him, forcing him to fight defensively until an opportunity to counter-attack arises. Hell, in times where overall power cannot be determined, Kagami just assumes his foe will have him cornered if he isn't careful. This leads to a style of fighting that's slow and cautious, without wasted movements but at the same time with a low offensive output. Rare are the cases where he overpowered his opponent right of the bat, perhaps unexistent. When fighting against clearly weaker opponents, such as unseated officers asking for a spar, Kagami will hold back considerably, give tips and go the extra mile for others to learn a thing or two. Though he'd be okay with losing on purpose if the trainee proved to do a superb job, his current position has an image to keep that doesn't allow him to do so. Hence, he sometimes feels guilty about 'one-shotting' people who were doing so well...
If something stands out is his sheer stamina and will-power. In a pure battle of attrition, Kagami is "sure to win", as his attacks and techniques are frugal and well-timed. He has shown multiple times that he can keep pushing his body after clear signs have been given that he had hit his limit. Top-notch physical fighters have taken note of this, and it's one of his outstanding traits in combat, if one can say he has any for his rank.
When it comes to Spiritual Presence, it's hard to say. He certainly has grown a lot this past century. He has an acceptable level of control over it, being able to proficiently adapt its potency and flow, but his shy and kind nature usually holds back his talent, showcasing it as poor and rather unfitting.
In combat, as long as it's not downright dirty, anything goes for Kagami. Kidou, Zanjutsu, Hakuda and Hoho, but also gadgets and the environment around him. Being on the losing side for years, he has learned that he needs everything in his repertoire if he wants to turn the table. Naturally, he favors Kidou and Zanjutsu over other methods of fighting as they provide the greatest number of utility in his arsenal, but isn't afraid to adapt to what the battle demands as it progresses. He's an average strategist who may over-think things sometimes, but does not throw his gut feeling aside, either.

【Masteries and Proficiencies】
【Kido Master】
Kagami's forte is, hands down, Kidou. He's adept in the use of "Incantation abandonment", and knows how to properly employ "Double Destruction Chant" and "Spoken-After Incantation". Though he can be considered a Master, he has just begun exploring what this level of proficiency has to offer, having difficulty with higher level Kidou, to the point where he feels more comfortable fighting on par with someone with an "Expert" brand. Being pacifist in nature, he personally favors Bakudo over Hado, although it can be seen his true potential lies in Kaido, the healing Kido that the Fourth Division uses to treat the injuries of shinigami who have been hurt in battle. When it comes to seal and barriers, his talent is average and even Fuku admits he doesn't feel comfortable with their workings to develop his skills further.
【Hakuda Expert】
To be honest, Kagami's aptitude with Hakuda comes mostly from a recurring string of spar losses that have both nurtured his spiritual force and granted him the experience to hold his own in combat when there is no sword at hand. Though, he's not unthinkable for him to use his free hand or feet to steal an advantage in combat, he'll rarely incorporate them into his attack pattern, instead using them to adjust his positioning or reach out to something that wouldn't be possible otherwise. Although it can be argued that Hoho comes hand in hand, Hakuda is by far the most instinctive and primal method of fighting Fuku knows, and his feats are mostly triggered by the desire of self-preservation and survival. If it came to technique and technique alone, shinigami with more in-depth training would always have the upper-hand.
【Hohō Proficient】
A lot of people like speed, and Kagami is no different. Unfortunately, it appears he is an inept when it comes to Flash Stepping. After decades of training, he has managed to achieve an acceptable level of Hoho, but abusing it is something reserved solely for do or die situations, as repetitive use of the technique cause him to become exhausted fast. Do not be fooled, however, as he is ultimately as fast as everyone else. His lack of finesse is what forces him to stop at ten when others can go as far as a hundred.
【Zanjutsu Expert】
A balance of power and discipline, Kagami is a not a pushover when it comes to sword-wielding. Granted, as a Lieutenant, he is often surrounded by monsters that make him look average in comparison, but those pitted against him would do well not to underestimate his skill. He does not own an original style, instead relying on those already developed by others. In a sense, this can make him predictable against an opponent with a broad knowledge, but can often surprise those who either work to master a single known style or break all boundaries to develop their own. Most notably, he has delved quite deep in the realm of zampakuto communication, and its rumored he's on the way of acquiring a young, fresh, final release.

【General Information】
【Hanshami】
~"Stay back. No one is allowed past this point."~
【Sealed State:】
【Inner World:】
【Description:】Stone steps that pierce through the forest and lead to a temple resting atop of the hill. The road forward is presented in a straightforward manner as it quickly becomes apparent that leaving the stairs to venture into the wild is an impossible feat, as an invisible force will keep anyone from doing so. Once one reaches the top of the stairs, they will find the gate of the temple being guarded by the Spirit of the Zampakuto. It's here where conversation and conflict occurs, and never has there been an opportunity where the wielder has been allowed to cross that final frontier. It is expected that the whole Spirit World, alongside its guardian, are a philosophical representation of the ordeals Kagami has faced, is facing and will face in the future.
【Personality:】Hanshami is a gatekeeper and he(?) takes his role very seriously. He is a mysterious individual that, in his base form, does not talk unless addressed, and acts in a hostile manner towards anyone who dares to make an attempt to cross the boundaries he is set to protect. Besides this, it is hard to pinpoint his real personality as he is an amalgam of memories that changes his appearance periodically to match people Kagami has met over the course of his life, impersonating them, or rather, the way his master perceives them, flawlessly. Although their relationship has progressed a considerable extent, to this day Kagami does not enjoy his trips to the spirit world, arguing that Hanshami beats too much around the bush with 'psychological torture' instead of simply telling a guy like him, who'd work smoothly with a mentor or a guide, what must be done from the get go.
【Shikai】
【~"Keep it from fading, Hanshami."~】
【Ability:】 Upon release, a trail of liquid akin to water will follow after every swing of the blade, emulating waves, foam included. This body of water will not be large enough to completely overwhelm another person, however it will be generated constantly so the user will never run out of it. For a few moments, the wielder can command the Zampakuto to manipulate this liquid, effectively turning into an extension of the weapon. In this way, it can be sent after foes as a projectile, strengthened to extend the blade's usual range or even be used as a makeshift shield. All of this initially leaves one to believe that Kagami's Zampakuto is an elemental-type, albeit not a really strong one. This change of state it's capable of is limited in its application and momentary at best -making good timing an absolute must-, and controlling the water present in the environment or in other techniques seem to be outside of its domain. The reason being, Hanshami's ability is not water manipulation, but the power to manifest a memory -a strong image within the user's mind- physically for a brief moment using water as a medium. When doing so, the water does not only acquire the desired shape but also the base trait of the pictured image. For instance, if the user draws a strong image of a hammer in their mind, the resulting figure will match the strength of the original. Needless to say, the accuracy of the replica depends heavily on the things the user has seen, recalls and is familiar with; and also the time and space the wielder is given to piece that image together.
【Kyōzō (鏡像 - Mirror Image)】The Zampakuto drastically increases water generation briefly and uses it to mold a copy of the user's own body that may last up to thirty seconds. This doppelganger can act independently, although it must remain relatively close to the user. It can perform any technique within the user's repertoire, but it does so at the cost of the wielder's spiritual energy reserves. This is often used for coordinated melee attacks, for Kidou Dual Casting or, occasionally, to fool opponents. If hit, the 'clone' is quickly reduced to a water puddle.
【Omoide Yokochō (思い出横丁 - Memory Lane)】Kagami's finishing combo move, a straightforward charge aimed at a single target. First, the user visualizes an 'imaginary path' that connects him to his opponent so that the distance that one needs to cover to reach the other is the least possible. Immediately, a 'water road' will materialize before the owner of the Zampakuto, ignoring all but the strongest seals, barriers and structures and allowing him to break through them even if it normally would be impossible. Finally, the user allows himself to be 'engulfed' by the waters Hanshami generates and, fueling them through strong memories, creates a 'jet burst' effect that propels the user forward with insane speed and force, drastically enhancing offensive potential. Kagami uses Memory Lane in conjunction with 'Echo', to increase his performance even further. A variation of this technique, 'Memory Lane: Over-heaven', also exists. It's premise is similar to the original, however, in Over-heaven, the target needs to be standing ove solid ground (or 'solid air') while the user is completely airborne in a position higher than theirs, effectively changing the way the final slashing move is executed.
【Hankyō (反響 - Echo)】A technique that doesn't leave any visual clues for the opponent, Echo is a tool Kagami can use to forcefully recall events of the past in an instant without losing his sense of time or becoming distracted and vulnerable. While any event is game, it's actually impossible to pick up details from a memory that went unnoticed beforehand if they took place at a time where the sword was not released, unless they happened mere moments ago. To keep it short and to the point, 'Echo' is used to quickly be able to adapt to the opponent's fighting style, being able to memorize attack patterns and muscle habits. As such, it becomes more powerful the longer the battle goes on, serving as a replacement for the rare ability of 'Eidetic Memory'. However, it must be noted that while it facilitates the analysis of a foe's capabilities, it won't immediately reveal everything there is to their technique, as recalling a single attack over and over is not guarantee that you'll figure out its secrets. Hilariously low Spiritual Energy cost, but it's not a passive. It has to be activated.
【Kaisō Dōtai (回想導体 - Recollection Conductor)】'Recollection Conductor' is the first Shikai technique that was not taught to Kagami by Hanshami. It was developed by the former to convince his Zampakuto that he has mastered the first release. Although it's neither extraordinary nor completely original -as it was inspired by someone else's technique-, it serves as his true signature spell and proof of his journey thus far. Through controlled breathing, Kagami can slow down the rate at which the trail of water left behind by each attack fades, enabling it to persist longer. By putting a little bit of focus, it becomes possible to leave a thin 'figment thread' that's nearly impossible to the naked eye (although Kagami can manipulate its color, if so desired) and cannot affect the world on its own. Then, when the timing arrives, Kagami can use Hashami's base ability to briefly solidify the threads, making them as tough as reinforced steel wire and as sharp as a blade. A technique that has the potential to both affect the pace of the fight as well as end it in a single instant, it's heavily dependent on its surprise factor and the level of recklessness the foe possesses. A variation of this technique, that may perhaps be even considered a follow-up, is called "Recollection Conductor: Karmic Crossroads". It requires an indoor battlefield, or at least one that's has enough obstacles, structures or support points, like a forest or a narrow alley. Taking advantage of the environment, Kagami can fix each end to a surface and eventually create a web of threads. Then, Kagami can cut down the 'Master Thread' (or let his opponent do it for him), to trigger a domino effect that will result in the threads converging at a single point, immediately capturing the enemy, if not outright finishing them off.
