"And what you would have him do, Lorelai...?" asked Steffan as he kept pressing forward, unable to accept thst his sisters change was at a point of no return "Our father loved you...he brought you into the castle so he could give you shelter and education. An actual chance at life, not a miserable existence in the streets."
Lorelai scowled. "You don't know anything, do you?" She said, stalking toward him. "This magnificent power has let me see clearer than ever. It has told me countless stories and horrors. Our father had been having an affair with my mother, bringing me into the world. My mother was a witch and was broken hearted, as she did not know my father was married. Thus, she cursed him. She cursed him with me. She killed your mother and gave me to our father as a sick reminder. And if he refused to take me, she would destroy this wretched kingdom herself." Lorelai glared at Steffan. "Our precious father, feared me. Pampered me and kept me from being married so his kingdom may have a few more years of peace." She stared hard at the ground. "I'm sure that this power was my mother's dying wish for me. She gave me the power I deserve! Our father probably planned to keep me locked away until I died." Her face contorted into a horrible smile. "Because he knew this would happen."
"But now, look at me!" She said, opening her arms with flourish. The back of her shredded gown ripped as two black, oily, dripping wings erupted from her flesh. Lorelai, with her now sunken cheeks and pitch black orbs she calls eyes, reached out cupping her brother's face in her free hand, the one with the sabre at her side.
"Do you see me now, brother? I'm finally as tall as you. You are the only one here....the only one from this horrible castle, I'd allow to live." For the first time her smile was not laced with hate or malice, but rather a disturbing, obsessiveness that was filled with longing.
