10 Favourite Games?

I've played so very few games in my time, that my top ten list is basically a list of all the games I've played in the order of my preference.

This list is likely inaccurate in order, may be better described as listed by internal significance.

5. Spore Creature Creator

Someone got me this demo before I got Spore. While I did enjoy the actual game—and certainly did more creature creating in the full version—the part that makes it great to me basically boils down to this. I've always loved animals, and being able to design some myself was great—even if I mostly just made pigs, boar, and other various swine.

4. Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne

I liked the campaign, mostly for the story and characters. The melee gameplay was okay, I was never a big strategist. What really stuck with me were the custom games. SotDRP, Werewolf — Transylvania, and oooh, Elimination Tournament. Blood Tournament. The one where you built spells from elemental orbs. Just so much variety and so much fun. Even the map creation tool was amazing to play with.

3. Shadow of the Colossus

Just, yeah. Loved it.

2. Dragon Age: Origins

Just recently finished my third playthrough, so I've now played at least a hundred hours. Though I'm no biggie for RPGs, the ability to choose who my character was in a story significant way is what really drew me in. The gameplay also wasn't too bad. I'm sure there are other games that did the choicey storyline better, but this is the one I played, and many of the characters I encountered I simply adore.

1. Demon's Souls

I know, I know, Dark Souls is better known. I personally never got the chance to finish DkS, so this is the one listed. As of yet, I liked this one better because of the feel of the game, with the Nexus in particular being a location that I think back to nostalgically. In a way, DkS has always felt like an extension of DeS, so the original will probably stay my favourite, even if DkS is bigger and better, with a deeper story. What I really love about this game, of course, is the combat. I just like how it plays. (Aesthetically cool too.)

Uhhh, that's only five games. I have other games I love, but I guess nowhere near as much? So, honourable mentions:

And no, I've never played pokémon. Nor Mario. Unless you count Super Smash Bros: Brawl. But even then, I always played as Kirby. ;]

Legend of Renalta 2: Reborn

This being "tonight's morning". Basically, in my timezone, it is the morning after; but because I have yet to sleep, in my timeframe it is still the same night.

If the others—that is, Bars and Hellchild—decide to skip to the inn as Herzi suggests, I'd be fine doing a second post before Brovo does his.

Selkie: Selkies are amphibious creatures, living both on land and in the sea. As such, Aëyr has partially webbed appendages that aid her in swimming, and can hold her breath underwater for about an hour. She can handle great pressure so as to dive deep, and can see well both above and below water. Their physiology is also designed to allow them to support the cold of the sea.

{Increased swimming skill; breathe longer; underwater sight; withstand high pressures; withstand low temperatures.}

Going the Distance: A skilled runner, she is both fast and enduring, able to make long treks with great speed and little sustenance.

{Increases speed and endurance while running.} Level 2

Burning Fast on an Empty Tank: Even after exhausting herself completely, she can push herself to the same speeds with but a moment's rest.

Relieved that she would not have to embarrass herself in a dance of life or death, Aëyr accepted the knives from Mikan and was faced with an entirely new challenge. Assassination.

She had known it would come to this as soon as she had decided to join the ranks of the Queen's Blades. In her last mission, she had killed minions. Now it was time to kill the master.

And though she felt certain that she was up to the task, it nonetheless gave her a brief shudder as she wondered how it was that this was the path she had chosen for herself. What kind of sex-slave goes on to assassinate the lord of the very city that had taken her so many times before? Perhaps this was fate giving her a shot at revenge, to kill those who had abused her so, even if Deimos was but indirectly related to her enslavement.

Testing their weight and getting a feel for the throwing knives, Aëyr then quickly stashed them in her belt. She may have focused her training on the use of the stone as projectile of choice, but she was also well versed in the use of knives, either for throwing, stabbing, or—in very rare situations—fighting.

"So be it, I shall take his life." She looks over the group, Mars in particular—now more shrewdly than before. "Shall we?"
