Bio

A writer, artist, animator, worldbuilder. In short, jack of all trades, master of some.

For the most part, I've retired from roleplaying. For quite a long time, what kept me tied to RPG was the Spam community—but even that I have distanced myself from. Now, my focus is on the writing contests.

I consistently try to write reviews for RPGC, and I consistently enter the Twelve Labours.

First labour; world of Archipelago, Jack.
Challenge: an unwelcome death.
For next entry: characterization.

Second labour; world of Uberpowered, Émile.
Challenge: an unfortunate fortune.
For next entry: pacing.

Third labour; world of Cinderlore, Caerys.
Challenge: an unforgiving ambition.
For next entry: proofreading.

Fourth labour; world of Supers, Joshua.
Challenge: an uncompromising betrayal.
For next entry: development.

Fifth labour; world of Mutamorphis, Olrich.
Challenge: an unrepressed motive.
For next entry: development, dammit.

Sixth labour; world of Mythos, Melas.
Challenge: an untenable alliance.
For next entry: dénouement.

Seventh labour; world of Hatemongers, Talahn.
Challenge: an unbearable sacrifice.
For next entry: cast utilization.

Eigth labour; world of Mythica, Céline.
Challenge: an unwinnable challenge.
For next entry: plot cohesion.

Ninth labour; world of Nardja, Albiorn.
Challenge: an unknowing accomplice.
For next entry: narrative set-up.

Tenth labour; world of Magestones, Ariana.
Challenge: an unwilling inspiration.
For next entry: narrative set-up, dammit.

That last scene with her brother killed me.

I very much enjoyed that series. Though I wasn't particularly marked by the li'l bro.

Did you know there's a third movie for it? (the first two are just cut versions of the series, not sure you'd be interested)

Hey Holmishire. I have nothing for Stealth. At all. I have mobility and utility. Sooo... Yeah. Don't depend on me for -stealth-.EDIT--South-west is going to be hilarious to see interact... isn't it? xD

Oh, sorry, I misremembered something in your biography.

(this is why I should review material more)
So, I was just doing a quick analysis of my team's strengths.

Georgia. Listener: ghost (mobility and mindscaping). Sneaky type, good for recon.
James. Grunt: assault rifle. Hiding, explosives, damage. Search and destroy, requires cover.
Roman. Grunt: shotgun. Sneaking, hand-to-hand. Close-quarters sneaking type, stealth missions.
Eira. Mech: medium, .50cal. Heavy damage, mobile jets, survival. Good for cover fire and support.
Matthew. Listener: ghost (mobility and melee). Runner, useful for recon.

We have three stealthies, a runner, and a cover fire. This could actually work! :D
By the way, I'm personally in favour of advancing into the fog to save the others, but I'm sure we can figure something out IC. I don't know if I'll get a post up tomorrow or late Staursay, but I'll be working on it. (My first post is often the one I put most thought into as I actually flesh out my character for the first time.)
I'll leave my vote for Thursdays; Mondays just aren't good enough.
I'll chain my vote down to the second entry.
Eira shall take the South-Eastern route. Y'all need some mech up there.

@Holmishire: WOOHOO! Another bunker baby! I kinda wonder what sort of pre-existing interactions our two might've had. xD

It seems both of our characters like a bit of artsing, too. : ]
Name: Eira Mairwen.
Age: 20.
Sex: Female.
Appearance:

Pale caucasian, likely of some scottish descent. Redhead, hair extends halfway down shoulder blades. Delicate face, greyish eyes. Lithe, fit. Tattoo on her left shoulder, details to be ascertained.
(©SuicideLass. Image may eventually be replaced by own art.)

History Type: Bunker Boy.
+ Diplomacy: Bunker residents, Council servants.
+ Advanced and foreign technology.

Biography: Born to a rather well-off family in the third ring. She made a couple friends, but nothing long-lasting; she usually found things a little too easy to let go. Nothing seemed to be of any consequence in the Bunker. People lived, ate, worked, survived. Was that all there was in stock for her life?

He family tried to push her into their business, but they only succeeded in pushing her away. She began training with the BCSec, mostly working in handling civilians. However, due to her small stature, she didn't prove to be the best fighter; she could certainly defend herself, but taking down the opponents was more of a challenge for the less-than-big girl.

As such, she set her sights on a new goal: mech piloting. She didn't want to be a police officer. She wanted to be a soldier, a dangerous one. So her training continued, and, excelling in her courses, she was eventually granted her own mech. After a quick personal paintjob, she was ready for anything, and was chosen amongst others for her spirit and maybe even naiveté for this mission.

She had promise in her training. Can she hold up in the field?

. . . Standard Issue Council Pistol.
. . . Standard Issue Council Rifle.
Armour: Mechanical Jumpsuit.
. . . Light Armour.
Medicine & Tech: Technical Kit.
. . . Nanotech Gloves.
. . . Radio.

Miscellaneous:
. . . Dog-Tag.

(more likely to come)

Signature: Holmishire, reporting for duty.

Also, Vlad has camouflage. Can't be bothered to hide it like the others. Sometimes being mundane is the most original thing you can do.
I'll probably pull a character together by tomorrow. Looking at a female mech pilot, because there's already a good amount of grunts and no way am I doing a listener.

(Also, this doesn't mean I'm no longer interested in Legends of Renalta. I've just decided to postpone joining until the next batch of missions pop up, which should allow me enough time to get a better grasp of myself. ;)
Age and appearance currently in construction. ;]

Name: Deagon "Digger" Jack.
Age: Your character's age.
Sex: Male.
Appearance: Your character's appearance. A picture or description will do nicely. (Or a hybrid of both if you prefer.)
History:
Positive: Former Soldier.
Negative: Coward's Flight.

Born to an Irish mother and French father, Deaglan was raised by London. With his two brothers and sister, he wrecked unbridled havoc upon its poor populace, bored with the typical life of the poor. Still, he somehow managed to push his way through a couple years of gradeschool, learning how to read and write.

At the age of seventeen, he was sent off to fight in the First Boer's War, deployed alongside his older brother.

In one of the skirmishes, the devastation was so dire that Digger fled, chased by his brother to save him from treason. However, before he could make it very far, an explosion tore the ground behind him, killing his brother and seriously injuring Digger through shrapnel.

He was eventually recovered and sent back home with a morphine prescription. As soon as he realized he was becoming dependant, he cut himself off from the addiction.

Through his younger brother, a priest in a small town outside London, he secured a position as a sexton and gravedigger. He worked here for near a decade, when he caught a snippet of rumour on a well-paid position in need of someone who knows their way around a shovel. Knowing he wasn't worth much else, he took the offer.

Technical Information

Career Path: Sexton.
Specializations:
Repeated Bites: One can adapt to everything, given enough exposure. And Digger's had his fair share of exposure to Death.
Apathy: There is a limit to one's sanity that, onced breeched, can never be restored. Unfortunately, this was not the case of Digger; his limit, like bone, regrew thicker once broken. That isn't to say that it didn't heal a little crooked, however.

Inventory: Your character’s inventory. You may add as many miscellaneous items as you wish, within reason. There are some things added here already: You get to keep these unless they’re replaced by a different item based on your career path.

Signature: Holmishire, and I'll bury meself as easily as the scent of yonder fishmen, were smelling I capable.
