Name: Shukin Tosaka
Race: Mon Cal
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Character Type: Force-trained
Appearance: Shukin has lead-gray skin, with calico patches of drab blue and brighter silver, and a paler, slightly yellower chin. Sparse black spots pepper his face and back, as well as the end of his spiny portions. His large, white eyes are flecked with the barest hints of amber and have a piercing stare, as if he's trying to measure your soul. If you know him for a while, this look may lessen, but never disappear entirely. He’s 5ft 8 and built athletically. He bears himself upright, with a serene poise, hindered only slightly by the cane on his right side and his heavy Greg House limp that turns his right leg out at an odd angle.
His clothing is comfortable and moderately loose. His black pants have several large pockets and room for his leg-fins to spread out. He wears sturdy, well-broken calf-height boots with flexible soles that provide some level of foot protection, but let him move quietly. His shirt is a simple long-sleeved, crotch-length tunic in a dark spruce green, with a broad neckline that fits easily over his head. A broad ecru cummerbund both stores most of his day-to-day items and cinches around his waist, giving his shirt a bit of poof about his chest. A navy blue hooded cloak, lightweight but densely woven, effective more as a windbreak than for warmth, completes the ensemble. He smells faintly of the sea, masked behind an application of cheap cologne.
Personality: Most of the time, he stays measured and relaxed, keeping his emotions perpetually detached. Like most Mon Calamari, he finds keeping his emotions at arms' length relatively easy, putting his passions into quiet focus; though lately, he's been intentionally letting himself let go, as he feels the need arises. He's put a great lot of thought into emotional intelligence over the last few years, but he doesn't think he has all the answers yet - at least not all the answers he needs. The previous guidance he was given on the subject was mostly "if you feel something, stop that," and it's taken some recent shakeups in his life to realize that was an incredibly stupid way to live. His personal philosophy is to be like a hunting cat; serenity gives him patience, ferocity makes him effective. While he's willing to be a team player, he's used to working alone, and isn't prone to excessive chitchat.
After a recent loosening of lifestyle restrictions, he’s become relatively willing to engage in an alcohol or a drug, perhaps to get in touch with his inner feelings, or just to see what it’s like. There are a lot of things he's not personally experienced yet, though there are also a lot of things he's seen. Work used to involve a lot of travel, but not a lot of stopping to smell the roses.
As far as his own viewpoint is concerned, his defining characteristic is curiosity. Perhaps he is a little too curious, and about subjects some might consider taboo. Couple this with his race's dogged determination, and you have a potential recipe for trouble.
His previous work-life balance wasn’t what most people would consider healthy, so he doesn’t have a great many specific interests or hobbies - though he has a developing taste for music, loves a good library, and is something of an intergalactic foodie. Trying the street food and probably getting indigestion is a quintessential part of the galaxy-hopping experience, in his view.

Racial Trait: Mon Calamari - Gilled: Your kind is known for withstanding some pretty harsh conditions. You can gain an advantage on saving throws for enduring high pressure environments, and while you're underwater, you can move at twice your normal speed and you can stay there indefinitely. However, your eyes see different wavelengths than other races do, so there are some visuals that may can make it difficult to see. Determined by a 1d20 dice roll, 10-6 means it's a little hard to see, 5-2 is difficult, and a natural 1 means you can't see anything.
Background Trait: Left Darkling: Well, there are very few things you wouldn't do to get what you want, that's for certain. This hopalong ninja gets a +1 trait bonus to Stealth checks and a +1 trait bonus to Awareness checks when identifying Sith artifacts. However, you suffer a penalty to mobility and foot/finwork thanks to your bad leg.
Inventory: Cane 2.5kg (Durasteel cane, roughly 4ft long, with integrated flashlight)
blaster pistol 2kg
Other: TLDR Sneaky assassin goldfish, possibly leaning more towards force artillery in a straight-up fight, especially since he doesn't have a lightsaber or one of those fancy vibroblades with cortosis in them that he could actually parry with.
