With his sandy blonde hair always in a disheveled state and his emerald green eyes always twinkling with a glint of happiness, Sebastian appears to enjoy this game world more often than others.

Definitely stealing the idea of hidden towns with various things other towns never would have and the vacation town and an artisan village ideas I had but I'm still thinking of how we could use them later on.

In other news the OOC is up : Kingdoms of the Sky Online

I still have a few things we need to make, a list of town names with slight descriptions, a set way to work out the skilling/item system and a few other things but I hope I got most of the information we need now. I'll add a sort of setting part when I have time to write it out which will explain the basic visual of the entire globe.

    The Story.
A game known as Kingdoms of the Sky Online has been launched, the world's first Virtual Reality game. The Company that has released this amazing adventure announces exactly one week from the launch date they will hold an amazing in game event, either this information pushes you over and you decide to purchase the game or simply you had already planned to and finally saved up. For whatever reason you entered the game, you did so on March 1st 2017 the day of the event. At the time the event was supposed to begin, players wait patiently for an announcement that never comes. Confusion begins to set in when players realize the log out function has been disabled. The following message was sent to every inbox.

"Greetings player, welcome to the fantastic world of Kingdoms of the Sky Online! Kingdoms of the Sky Online is now your new world, we hope you enjoyed your time in the game so far because you will now be of permanent residence! As most of you have probably discovered the log out function has been disabled, don't worry about your real life body its existence is pointless now since you are here. A few changes have been made following this glorious event, you will find the respawn function is also disabled. Death in game means death in real life, monster AI has been increased and a new real-pain indicating system has been introduced allowing you to experience the world in a more realistic way, isn't that exciting!? Again we thank you for joining us on this new adventure and once more, welcome to Kingdoms of the Sky Online!" The Roleplay will begin exactly two days after this message was sent.

    The Guide to 'Leveling' Up.

Within Kingdom of the Skies Online, a player will have no indication on any form of what we know as 'stats', rather everyone starts at a neutral point. At the start of your game, every action you take will reflect upon your character. The game's highly advanced AI nicknamed "Gaia" will be constantly micro-managing everyone's ratios. Players will experience a highly natural growth rate of skill that reflects upon experience. As you progress deeper in the game, your jobs and classes will open up and allow you more skillsets, items, gear, etc.

Upon beginning the game, the player will answer a short series of questions that will end with them receiving a specialized set of equipment tailor-made for their personality and style. To advance in the game and evolve your character, one must show actual attempt to progress including participating in guild skirmishes, boss raids and party quests. In order to progress to the next tier in your class what is known as a "Progressive Feat" is required, which includes but is not limited to: completing an epic quest, defeating a legendary monster or reaching a milestone in power forcing you to advance. Upon this "level up" a character's entity is open to change, some may simply acquire a new specific item (ie new tome for mages.) while others could acquire an entirely new look displaying their clearly more advanced capabilities.

    General Guidelines & Expectations

  • Characters are expected to be limited in their own right by the person who made them, none of us wants someone who solves every situation.

  • Moderate length posts are what we're aiming for, something around 2-5 paragraphs per post, please no one liners or any other silly things.

  • A Mature level of writing, there will be blood, slight gore, cussing and intense themes. Sexual natures are forbidden and if you want to do that, I suggest going somewhere else.

  • Your word is just as important as anyone's, speak up if you think someone's character is too powerful or you disagree with a way something should go, but in the end majority rules and I will decide any possible tie-breakers and handle disputes.

  • Keep the arguing out of here and things down to a discussion, no insulting or hostility, lets all be friends and do this for fun. If you begin causing problems you will be asked to leave.

  • All other Roleplay rules are expected, please lets make this enjoyable!

  • ANY QUESTIONS/DISCREPANCIES/CONCERNS PLEASE PM ME PRIVATELY.
Well since the world is a massive labyrinth you literally could not map out without the use of electronics and 3D super computer shizwah but we're always gonna need ideas for quests throughout the story.

As for towns I have nothing much in mind yet, the only idea I had was one town for each class sort of like a slight industrial port town city of thieves/pirates, a elven-esque city in the forest, a massive medieval city dominated by a castle and powerful knight guards, a magical mage town of.. magic and maybe a fifth level for beginners since all games have that even ground starting point? So if you had ideas on towns please share.
Alright! I'll make an ooc in the casual section when I get on my computer. For now if you guys have any ideas don't be afraid to say them and if you have any names for towns or something that would be good too. Glad to see new faces on board, anyone who might be lurking I wouldn't mind a few more people!
Should I turn this into an actual OOC or is there anything else you guys would like to discuss/place in the RP? I think we still need a name for the actual In world reality (Gaia's Labyrinth Online? Kingdoms of the Sky Online? I dunno.) And perhaps some proper names for cities/guilds.

So far this is what I have:

How's this all sound before I start putting it together in OOC fashion and such? Also for the record I was thinking of doing a Dragoon/Lancer/Spearman kinda class. Semi-DPS and off-tank. But I'm also cool with a Mage or a Battle Mage even or some kind of Commander/tank thing.
Well maybe for Clerics/Priest/People who want to utilize holy magic there could be divine beings? Would anyone want non-human playable races?

I'm used to playing multiple characters, and I haven't started planning a character yet. Yes, i believe it would be interesting with 4 or 5 kingdoms, possibly a NPC war going on, it is possible to join a kingdom as an individual or as a guild. Also, if the NPCs didn't think they were in a game and that they were real people it'd be interesting.

These are all possible plot ideas we could explore. Maybe some guilds could rule so much economy they can elect their Guild leader to be a king or at least a Duke of the court where the King acknowledges their wishes and such allowing them to partake in fighting. Which would mean the largest guilds of such power would probably not be above warfare with other towns/guilds.

Edit: Actually maybe the idea of each town has an alliance or two that run it mostly which would be made of up guilds, which are made up of parties and individual players. So in theory we could be sent to battle by our alliance with a whole load of NPCs by our sides and such. Jeez I don't even know so many possibilities we're starting to get real deep. And like I said, I want the in game world to have real death so for NPCs to act serious would be no problem for me!
We could have a set like 4-5 Kingdoms of the Skies where they own massive landscapes and maybe a few surrounding isles where the focus of NPCs would be while there could be random floating ones that hold various mysterious, dungeons, possibly epic loot, filled with savages, etc.

And I see your reasoning, if they are gonna be unlimited in play style why make so many specialized classes, just let the characters evolve their own skills? I like the idea of the AI, maybe the AI could be the overall enemy to us all. Programmed to attempt to destroy the players, not knowing their real life hangs in the balance? I hope the others don't come back and get blown away by walls of text discussion :P

Just curious, do you guys have characters in mind already? Like what roles would you guys be interested in? Just to gauge if we have like 4 people looking at Mages or everyone wants to be an Archer. If there's only 5 of us maybe one or two could double and play two characters?
