Current I just want to say that I am happy that I recently broke my own promise to myself and actually looked at all this Fallout 76 stuff, cause I almost made the mistake of buying it.

How are character sheets on the decline? I understand it being possible to not have a real sheet for something like a slice of life sort of thing, but for one with any sort of combat?

Perhaps this whole Mahz thing is like in DBZ? We need to gather the Dragon Balls so we can bring him back from wherever he is, even if that is death itself.

"Yui Kaneko, and yes, this is an egg." One could almost see the annoyance radiating off Yui. After all it's not like there was a Pokemon that looked EXACTLY like a Pokemon egg, How could anybody get the two confused? Yui turned, angling her head around Desmond to see the new arrival, a girl with a Growlithe that seemed somehow more aggressive than Fluff for a moment. " Well, my name is Yui. " She said for the third time in the last 5 minutes, her previous poorly hidden annoyance now completely risen to the surface. She understood that people were meant to battle here, but without even an introduction? Yui was raised as a proper young woman, and challenging somebody to a battle without even asking a name, that was just rude.

Meanwhile, from across the crowd, a set of eyes that had been watching silently, now began to approach. The much taller figure gently, and gracefully pushed his way through the crowd of children, some who knew him gawking for a moment. "Why hello there Yui, long time no see! I can see that you made some friends already!" Teal hair and a white almost skintight outfit graced his elegant form, and the man smiled in such a way that let you know just how important and beautiful he knew he was. "Oh, hello Mr. Wallace! I just met these three." "And yet already they are ready to battle? No no this will never do! You three are quite old enough to be learning a few proper rules for Pokemon battling. There will be no ugly little fistfights between Pokemon if I have any say in it! Before any of that though, Allow me to formally introduce myself. I am Wallace. The Gym Leader of Sootopolis, in the Hoenn region."
Professor Fern was back in his lab, where he had been followed by several small children. He was tired, and if one was perceptive enough they would see it in his eyes, as he did nothing to hide it. He raised an eyebrow as the youth who had approached him directly, instead of waiting silently like the other children who were frozed in mixed awe and fear of the Noctowl that sat atop a table watching the small crowd. He also noticed the pokemon trying to hide itself in the background, though clearly it was not doing a very good job of that. "I can see that, as much as I would love to hand you a pokemon, it seems that you already have one interested in you." He said, waving at Noctowl who spread it's wings and leapt, half gliding over to where the Dhelmise was and immediately began pecking at the anchor, as if trying to draw it out. "You know, you don't always have to beat a pokemon into submission for it to join you, perhaps try simply asking this one." He handed Keala a pokeball, a clear indication that he was done talking for the moment as he turned his attention to the crowd of other children before him.

Yui meanwhile, was absentmindedly rubbing the egg she held, she was quickly becoming attached to the thing. If she had been paying any real attention however, she would have felt the soft shudders from the egg, though the sudden short flash of light in the quickly approaching darkness caught her attention. It seemed there was another young man who, like her was keeping away from the general crowd. Though unlike her, he seemed to be having a staring competition with a fluffy pokemon who seemed determined to win. Before she could properly stop herself, Yui was at the side of the young man, taking a short moment to join in on the staring competition before speaking. " You know, I seriously doubt that your pokemon has any intention of losing this little staring match you have going on here. My name is Yui Kaneko, this is errr, well it's an egg I guess. " The egg shuddered softly again, though Yui was distracted by the Mareep. " Does your pokemon have a name? "
The sun was dipping below the horizon at this point, and the ship had been on the sea for at least two weeks already. It seemed that they planned on gathering everyone before Professor Fern would appear and finally and truly begin their journey. Yui thought it was strange, especially the things she heard about the Professor, that he was a war veteran, that he was very different from the other Professors and made sure you knew it. There were other more outlandish stories, but these were spread by the multitude of 10 year olds running amok on the ship.

Regarding the passengers, there were easily 200 people aboard, a mixture of children ages 10-17, with the younger ones being the most numerous. There were already a handfull who already had Pokemon, and out of the 200 who had found themselves aboard, somehow Yui was the only one cradling an egg in her arms. Her simple presence due to this fact, drew attention, children and even a few adults, be they parents who refused to let their children go alone or simply employees of the ship. They all had their guesses as to what would hatch from the egg.

Those who had Pokemon often gathered together to debate with each-other using their minimal knowledge, by either trying to battle or simply showing off their Pokemon. Yui kept to herself for the most part, hiding away at the edges of the crowds and only appearing at important events, though at this stage in the journey those were few and far inbetween until Fern arrived.

He arrived suddenly and silently, standing atop a small stage on the main deck of the ship. His simple presence drew the crowd without an announcement. " Hello, and welcome to the world of Pokemon. " He did not yell, he simply spoke evenly above the hushed whispers. He held no smile, only a face of sheer determination as he slid a poke-ball between his fingers from hand to hand. He was dressed in fine clothes, and had nearly pure white hair that was clearly well cared for. " My name as you should well know, is Fern. People call me a Pokemon Professor. This world is inhabited by creatures called Pokemon! At the final word, he casually tossed the poke-ball over his shoulder, releasing a rather large Noctowl that wore an eyepatch over it's left eye. " For some people, Pokemon are pets. Others use them for fights. Myself, I study Pokemon as a profession. " There was a short commotion in the crowd at the sight of the Noctowl, it looked old, and regarded the sea of infants as if it were debating on what it wanted for lunch.

After Professor Fern's short speech, he casually mentioned that, like on the advertisements for the cruise had said, that those without Pokemon would have a chance at one of the many caught by Professor Fern, if they wished such. Following Professor Fern were several other adults, who seemingly represented occupations that involve Pokemon. There was a Nurse Joy, a Police Officer, A Pokemon Breeder, A contest winner, a gym leader or two and many more. It seemed that at any time during this halfway point on the cruise, those interested could learn from the adults who have made a living working with pokemon. Yui sat silently at the far rear of the crowd, settled in a lounge chair with her egg nestled in her arms. She would wait for the crowds to go down before properly exploring and asking questions of the adults available.
Due to my inablity to currently acess discord, I will mention this here, then once again later on.

I plan on posting a starter tomorrow, those of you who have properly accepted characters should feel free to post, and those who have not may still post whenever their CS is completed. Our beginning, being the introduction of the characters, should be slow enough that anybody who does not have a properly finished CS should be able to quite easily catch up.

Now that everybody is aboard and interacting, there is a period where she ship will stay motionless until Fern finishes handing out pokemon. This means an influx of literal fresh trainers are going to be on the ship, as opposed to the handful who have at least had their pokemon for a week or more.

As for battling, there are older trainers, 20-40 years of age aboard the ship who act as the mediators for the pokemon battles, as well as these folks there are one or two gym trainers, what gym trainers these are I will leave to you folks. These adults will intervene in battles they deem to be requiring an official setup.

Name: Yui Kaneko
Age: 16
Date of Birth: October 12th
Gender: Female
Birthplace: Sootopolis City, Hoenn Region
Height:5ft3
Pokemon:1

Background / Personality

Yui Kaneko was born to a relatively well off family in Sootopolis City. Yui never knew her mother, as she had passed away shortly after she was born. Life with her father was boring to say the least, he was a very overprotective man. Heard as whispers from neighbors and other children, Yui attained her love of exploration and adventure from the knowledge that her father had previously been a very skilled trainer, though his avid care for his wife's Milotic and his own frighteningly skilled Garchomp often gives this away.

Yui was a quiet and curios child, never ready to accept anything at face value. Her homeschooling limited her exposure to the other children, and this ended up creating a socially awkward, curious young woman with a love of pokemon and adventure. Like her father she has proven to be headstrong, and is hard pressed to change their mind once they choose to do something.

Yui quickly got impatient with her father, though she always had Milotic and Garchomp as company, she wanted to start her own journey. Her father disliked the idea, as it meant that he may lose his daughter, if not in the same way as his wife. For years he kept her in Sootopolis, and for years Yui would sneak over to the Pokemon gym to watch trainers battle.

Eventually she made friends with a travelling trainer, she was 14 then, and him 17. He spoke to her of his adventures, of the people and pokemon he met, and Yui listened with complete attention. She was 16 when she finally decided. She ran off with her trainer friend to Slateport city, where she boarded a boat headed for another region. Her father was able to catch up at the last minute, and instead of stopping her he asked a favor, that she take a pokemon egg with her as a gift. He said that he had bought it a month before and it never hatched, that he had spent that long debating and arguing with himself until Yui made her own choice.

Yui eventually departed, promising to keep in touch with her father whenever possible. The egg hatched days later while Yui was asleep cradling it in her arms. The Pokemon was Ralts, but this one was different from it's brothers and sisters, instead of being white and green, it had a white and blue color scheme. Almost as shy as Yui, but much more curious, this Ralts was nicknamed Blueberry. Blueberry has a love of exploration, but is easily frightened by other Pokemon and even some people. This all means that Blueberry has a habit of dissapearing when Yui is not looking, only to explore and frighten themselves by bumping into another pokemon or trainer.

just give me one moment to work on the actual plot, until then those accepted ( You know who you are ) can post your characters to the proper tab.
Auriel watched the proceedings from next to The Stranger, by this point several more people had shown up from their respective cells and had their own turns to be confused and scared. Auriel wished she could have comforted them, but even she was on edge and she suspected that with the current mood her approach would be seen as agressive. " Once again, it is important we start moving, if these foes we are trying to avoid are anything like I had previously encountered then.... well let's just say we may not last too long. " Auriel was slowly starting to peice things together, one does not simply pass out in the middle of a battle with your foe and wake up safe and sound at home. She only hoped that he would not find her, at least not until she regained her strength.

Auriel smirked at the sheer lack of an attention span displayed by the walking corpse, at least they seemed to be able to think for themselves. " I suspect a torch might not do too much. But it is better than nothing. " Auriel mumbled to herself with a grin. As a fair few others found their way out of their cells Auriel took a quick look around. A creature she could only describe as a Golem, a person in a bird mask, another humanoid with wings, a human, a walking corpse. Their little group was shaping up to be interesting.

It was only moments later, after The Stranger had spoken to the undead with a short attention span, that the sound of metal against stone could be heard. Farther down the hall, an abomination of steel made it's way for them, the name of it's master echoing off it as it was suddenly caught in what Auriel could only guess was the spell that had previously prevented the alert of the guards. As if a horrifying amalgamation of steel was not enough, arms had already sprouted from the headless hole and drawn weapons. Auriel watched nurvously as the undead almost immediately latched herself to the beast, waiting close to the stranger as she fiddled with her fingers. Auriel cursed her lack of energy, spark-like bolts of light leaping between her fingers and refusing to take shape. " Ahh, though there are more of us at the moment, and ideally we could handle only one of these creatures if we work together, I think that others may have heard it's cries, why else would it scream if none of it's allies were nearby? My entire point is that I think that we should either work quickly or simply run.
@Todd Howard

Of course, I have developed Yui and her starter a fair bit so what ai have posted here is nowhere near everything.

I don't know much about the games you mention as my Pokemon knowledge is only sure when it comes to Emerald, Platinum and a decent amount of yellow. I am willing to learn however.
