Hey guys :D

I'm new to the forum but less-new to RP. Got my start on Yahoo! chat right around the time when the user rooms got shut down. I was able to snag a few good RPers on their way out, but never really got as much RP as I wanted, and once they retired I had to go into hiding.

But! It's been quite long enough since I last RP'd, and I do miss it dearly. So here I am.

I should probably tell you I'm a girl, over 18. I play both male and female characters, and in my experience the RP is always more fun if my partner is playing the opposite sex as whoever I'm using. For example, if I was RPing my female mad scientist, I would want your character to be male. If I'm playing my male post-apocalyptic survivor, I would rather your character be female. I dunno, it just works out better that way. (I don't have a preference for player gender, btw. As long as the character is played well, does it really matter?)

That said, I do NOT enjoy romance in my RPs. Of course, chemistry and lust are likely (and welcomed!) in this kind of arrangement, but whenever the characters start getting really cuddly, I tend to lose interest. I guess it's just plot > affection in my book.

I will kindly ask for a minimum age of 18 for my RPs (though I don't care how old your character is), because you may see any of the following in most of my storylines:

violence
profanity
gore
drugs
alcohol

On post length: QUALITY over quantity. Strive to move the story rather than my scroll wheel. I usually hover somewhere in the Casual range. If I'm really into the story and there's a lot going on, my posts will be longer. If things are moving pretty fast (eg, a fight or a heated argument), my posts will be quick and to the point. I am not into fluff. Just write what you have to say, and hit Send. Let the scene dictate how long your post ought to be. :)

Preferred genres:

Modern-realistic
Medieval (low fantasy/realistic)
Near-future/sci-fi (not space)
Post-apocalyptic/survival

Supernatural critters are welcome in all genres. I'm not very into magic, so wizards and sorcerers please move along.

I do not RP anime or fanfiction of any kind. I just don't see the appeal.

My availability: Evenings and weekends.

Expected absences:

Thanksgiving break
Christmas break

Please let me know if you're not able to reply right away (“right away” = within an hour) to my posts. Be it writers' block, a previous engagement, an emergency, whatever, just shoot me a quick message letting me know you're unavailable. I promise I will forgive you! There's just nothing worse than that feeling of abandonment from pressing the F5 key too many times.

Also feel free to message me OOC! If you get stuck posting or if you have a question about the story/characters in general, PLEASE ask. I would much rather do some OOC maintenance with an RP than let it die because someone got confused or bored. If the RP just isn't working out, we can always try a new one!

Sooo, if you're interested in RP, send me a private message detailing what you'd like to do. :D

**I prefer to RP over PM or Skype.**
JACK

Race:
Vampire (the explode-in-sunlight kind)

Age: Old. Why keep track? (looks about 25ish)

Best genre: Modern-realistic

Also fits with: Medieval (low fantasy/realistic)

For best RP, bring: A hunter, a crazed scientist, a werewolf, a stubborn teen/twenty-something, or whatever other tricks you have up your sleeve

Not very good with: Other vampires (everyone in the same boat = *snore*)

*warning* There are some clichés in here. Don't beat me up. :(

Brief bio: Jack is a pro at social camouflage. He'll say hi, chit chat, and then be forgotten as soon as he leaves the scene. It's sort of an art. When he's not mingling with adorable humans, he can be found downtown, with a less-cuddly crowd. In modern settings, this is usually an industrial-goth club (either his own or checking out the competition); in medieval, it's usually a generic tavern. Due to his friendliness and approachability, Jack may not seem like the type to mesh with rougher crowds, but he seems more at home there than with tame folks.

Why not more? You need to RP with Jack to find out more about him!

Caveats/tips: Unless your character starts out with the info (eg, you're using a hunter or another vampire), they are not going to immediately know Jack is a vampire. By all means, be suspicious that he's only out after dark and no one ever sees him eat a burger. Hell, joke about it IC, but unless he screws up royally at the beginning, a mortal isn't going to be able to pin him down as something other than a night owl. As the RP progresses, suspicion that Jack is a bit off is expected, and welcomed. The timeframe of this depends on your character's observation skills.
Hi everyone!

For now, I'm just going to post the sheet for the character I most want to RP. I do have other characters, so if this one doesn't seem interesting, feel free to message me and maybe we can play something else.

Since I am trying to come out of retirement, I am probably going to be a bit rusty at first, so please be patient. :( When I'm fully in the swing of things, I usually round out at Casual-level (and prefer the same out of my partner).

If you're interested in RP, please send me a private message! I'd like to keep this page only for character sheets. :)
Hi everyone!

So, quick history about me -

Started RPing on Yahoo! chat exactly when the user rooms got shut down and all the really neat people started leaving. I managed to meet a few good writers and get a few years of awesome RP in, but pretty soon they all retired, leaving me with no one.

:(

I've been involuntarily retired for a lot longer than I like, and I'm trying to find a new RP home. I've got characters that fit in medieval-fantasy, modern-realistic, near-future/sci-fi (not space), and post-apocalyptic settings. They don't have individual pages anymore, but I'll definitely make some bios for them if I get much attention here.

Recently I've been jonesing hard for my good old vampire dude. He's usually in a modern-realistic environment. Loosely inspired by Blade and Atwater-Rhodes – I don't do sparkles. Just a well-developed character who's been with me since the beginning.

If you're interested, send me a message! I can't wait to hear from you guys. :D
