*ahem* Or, you know, flip a coin. Heads, Team SAtB goes to Ellorn; Tails, Team BTT goes.

Honestly, that strikes me as something this Miri girl would do. She looks at all the votes, counts them up diligently, then... throws them over her shoulder and flips a coin (a massive, ridiculous coin with her face on it).

EDIT: -shrug- But that's just me. Maybe the die roll would be better.
Thank you, FoxFire, somehow I didn't catch that.

Now Rin's vote makes sense, as does Rune's (there are seven votes and seven players, but Dblade hasn't voted yet). Scratch that, it seems the polls are all messed up. The new one is probably a good idea (it'll also show us if some people aren't around anymore). As for why I'm still here... :) Well, you know, just trying to be helpful. I've gotten a chuckle out of some of the IC posts, so I decided to keep lurking.

Now, as for the polls:

Team Better-than-theirs has 6 votes for Rose the fair (Ellorn), 2 votes for Loryan the tough (Niy-an), and zero votes for Sophie the shy (Nekronia). The numbers match up, so the voting is finished.

Team Super-Awesome-the-Best has 4 votes for Rose the fair (Ellorn), 2 votes for Sophie the shy (Nekronia) and 1 vote for Loryan the tough (Niy-an). The numbers match up, so once Dblade votes, it should be finished.

EDIT: Dropped the ball on the polls, there, accidentally switched the teams. Oops.
:( I'm around, still joining arguments that have already been resolved. I think it's pathological.

Most GMs can be expected to read the IC, Raineh Daze... What I'm saying is that it simply isn't up to you. You should trust the GM to regulate her/his game, and if you think something that happens in-character is supplanting the plot or doesn't belong, THEN you bring it up with the GM and the players, and there's a discussion.

You can't assume intentional game-breaking malice in everyone who wants to make their character an amnesiac, basically. I understand, it isn't ideal, and if I were GMing a game with an amnesiac character I'd at least want to have some idea myself, but it can't be generalized as always leading to bad things. What if their ideas are actually supplementary to the main plot? They saw something they shouldn't have, and one of the kings' court wizards erased their memory using dark rituals or something? Wouldn't that be an interesting reveal?

You've already done it wrong. I don't have the slightest inclination to say amnesia can't make for good writing; my objection is on the way it makes it trivial to get things into an RP that wouldn't be accepted. ._.

Not in the game, just lurking, but my thought here, Raineh Daze, is that you can't berate your fellow players and tell them they're doing it wrong... Before they've done it wrong.

You don't want a ridiculous Mary-Sue backstory to come up (e.g. "By the gods, I just remembered that I'm actually from Krypton, so now I have superpowers, even though that doesn't fit the setting at all!"), and that's a fine thing, because it can (of course) disrupt the narrative of an RP, but if something like that happened, the GM would say "wow, that's dumb" and would tell the player to think of something else, if not kill off the character right there. What it seems like you're saying is that when these amnesiac characters DO reveal their backgrounds, they are guaranteed to be stupid, and that Konica won't do anything about it, when she/he might have done something if the stupid backstory was submitted as part of a sheet...

Frankly, if I were Konica, I'd be a little insulted. It's as if you don't think she/he can govern her own game.
:) Well, thank you, Inversus.

...at the risk of starting another argument, Nevis, what do you think of Paradise Lost? Quite a few similarities can be drawn between it and the Comedy, and I'd be quite interested in knowing whether you have more (or even less) respect for it compared to the work of Dante.
In other news, I think this is a fantastic idea for an RP, and I don't want to ruin this thread with my arguing. I think I'm going to go ahead and delete my couple of posts, other than the last one. I really am sorry, KirinLemon.

EDIT: On second thought, just putting them in hiders would work, too.
Hmm. Well, that is quite an intro.

:) May I say, welcome to the Guild, Inversus. Based on this, I would predict that you'd love some very experimental, existential RPs, with deep philosophical dilemmas and intricate discussions between characters and such. Am I wrong?
