Yep, pretty much everyone calls me Impy.

One little thing I noticed in your sheet is the horse. :) As a Pythomancer especially, someone who would have cause and interest in working with animals, I'm sure the school would house her horse in the stables without complaint.
To be completely honest, Pellegrino, I am not a fan of numbers in this kind of game. I don't think they're necessary. The SPECIAL system is about game balance... Which we don't need in the slightest. This is an abstract game, we don't need to compare numbers between each other and the NPCs, we don't have derived statistics or hit points or anything at all. The numbers make the characters limited, when they really don't need to be.

Can we just say which of our character's SPECIALs are above average, or below average, or really good, or really bad? More wriggle room, less "well, my Strength is seven and yours is six, so obviously I can overpower you, and you can't argue against it!"

EDIT: Then, we as a group and you as a GM can decide whether a character is realistic/reasonable or not.

This looks like fun. I'll be working on a CS within the next few moments or hours... or so. Depending on how lost I truly am. I'll try to keep my head screwed on tight however. Lol.

If, when I post my CS, you have any comments on how it can be improved, please feel free to do so just... Be kind about it? I don't particularly like being told the faults of my CSs in a condescending way. Which I'm sure you won't but it has happened before. So, yeah. :D

:) Well, as Hanged said in the opening post, the IntChk thread has quite a bit of background information, so you might want to check that out if you haven't already.
Yeah, they've probably been in place since the school was founded, right? Woven into the stone and stuff.

Well . . . let's hope she doesn't find out about that xD (although I kind of want her to . . .)

Well, the poor girl's twitchy enough as it is...

I image they are, but are the vision wards warded from magic sense which my character has to a degree. Also, if something is hidden from magical sight, is it like it isn't even there or would the person know it is there but not sure what it is?

The latter is likely more energy-efficient, changing the "appearance" of the effect so as to make it difficult to discern rather than hiding it completely.
:) Good. It's kind of funny, my character is the type who hates having surveillance on her. She would know of the teacher wards, and would be keenly aware of the areas they cover, but if she ever found out about these, well... She'd probably have a panic attack, and afterwards would be absolutely sure that the Headmaster was out and about before she did anything outside of her room.

  • School Wards - a series of observation wards that came with being Headmaster. Spread out throughout the school and gives him complete vision of everywhere except the private quarters; neither the students nor teachers have knowledge of this.

I'm hoping this doesn't include bathrooms? And, can he access the wards at all times, or does he have to be in a certain place?

EDIT: Actually, why don't the teachers know about this? That seems silly. It's a reasonable security measure, considering the capabilities of the Academy's students.
Yep, that's exactly what I thought. :) Fabulous.

Cool. Is she a pure Pythomancer or does she study other branches?

No, I'm talking about the same character as before, the Ouramancer. Because of the way she was raised, she mainly taught that art to herself (with the spirit of her grandfather as a mentor), and her actual classes at the Academy were in Pythomancy and Art (and a few other mundane academics). She still took the exams they presented for Ouramancy, but that wasn't why she enrolled at the Academy. The Pythomancy was.

Now that she's passed into the advanced years, she does individual research on Ouramantic topics, and continues to study and improve her Pythomantic techniques and knowledge... Is that alright?

Hm . . . Griffins are fairly hard to tame, not to mention dangerous. So if she were to have one, it would be fairly young, but that also raises the question on how she got it at that state. And if she's just starting out, it's less likely, as she should have almost no knowledge on how to raise one. Your best bet would make her a senior student with a young Griffin (those are still bigger than horses, mind you), but you can also have her be new and wanting to learn.

As for how intelligent Griffins are; they are fairly intelligent, enough to deliver messages and pick-up ingredients without guidance, but aren't intelligent enough to work simple machines

Dangerous is the idea. My thought was, in fact, exactly that: she's a senior student (19), who got lucky and managed to acquire a Griffin egg around five years ago (having been in Pythomancy classes a few years by that point), and raised the chick with the help of her instructors at the Academy. So, it's quite young, but still large enough to stare people down and discourage violence, and generally be a useful companion.

And the intelligence is exactly where I was thinking, as well. :) I'm glad we're on the same page.

(She was always going to be a senior student; I don't think that was clear. And her family is quite wealthy, considering their heritage...)
